As a non medical person but possible patient, I find this use of assistants without designated capabilities very concerning. I believe they require their own register and clearly defined roles and limitations.

I think a separate maps register should be put in place because there guys have no accountability for their screw-ups. There should be a separate maps register. Emts work within emergency medicine as do paramedics we have different registers though.

Hi Ollie, I’m due to start work in Med Ed as a Medical education Fellow in the UK. Love your videos. Could you also make a video on Medical education and guidance on career progression in Medical education for doctors who might not want to continue in the clinical side. What post grad qualifications one needs to progress in it and etc. Thank you.

Hi there! Tough one - it might be best for me to get someone in to interview on that one, for a careers in medical education talk. I do know a few guests that would be good. I'm not sure there's a well trodden pathway with defined qualifications.

This sounds incredibly useful and ethically sound regarding the outcomes of the service. Are you considering anaesthetics as a potential career if you train out of neurosurgery training?
It doesn't mean thst the am vulnerable services have exactly similar scopes of practice is. However at least ours are clearly defined in terms of patient safety we have guidance in place to know what our maximum scopes of practice are. We normally work below them. We are always taught never to work above them.
