    I can tell for sure BarShet-Ribak shofarot are one of the best shofarot in Israel, their shofars are sold all over the world in most Judaica.
    Shofars very nice aesthetically beautiful as well as a great sound!. Avraham the father of this factory passed away a few years ago טויָקָר בְּעֵינֵי יְהֹוָה הַמָּוְתָה לַחֲסִידָיו:

    Good day, this is a great video. I have a kudu horn myself which still has the core. I would just like to find out what are the ways which I can remove the core without damaging the horn?

    • @Hever73
      @Hever73 4 года назад

      Hey kevin, believe me it's not that easy to core them , they have to be straight first one must be a craftsman to make them , a kudo horn extra Jumbo of around 45'' to 46'' not core is $200.00 an one with a core an tuned is 300/350 or little bit less, it is better to have a real shofar already! (core & tuned) they are not that easy to make as some people think.

      In the United States Bar Sheshet-ribak are sold in most judaicas . Go to googgle or what ever browser you have then you search for judaica then for shofarot you'll find two kinds Yemenite shofar & Ram's (Biblical Trumpet)

    Hola soy de Costa Rica y hago compras de shofares regularmente,me gustaría saber si tienen una tienda en linea para comprar shofares de kudu de 40 a 50 pulgadas

    • @Hever73
      @Hever73 6 лет назад

      1) Vas a tener que comunicarte con ellos, tienen su propio website con su numero de telefono, por cierto puedes llamarlos gratis desde USA.
      2) Los shofares de 46 a 50" son cuernos raros, los puedes conseguirlos pero van a ser un poquito mas caros especialmente de Barsheshet-Ribak
      He comprado cuernos de un website que se llama talit.com o solo busca en el web site shofarot israel, o cualquier Judaica, luego shofarot eso te lleva directo a los shofares.
      Te soy honesto lo importante no es el tamano es la persona que suena el shofar, te recemendaria un shofar Yemenite Jumbo o extra Jumbo que oscila entre 40'' a 45''.

Solo clickea shofar o shofar Israel, si los compras a Israel si te los mandan a Mexico o si tienes algun familiar que te los lleve de USA, yo esto y en Austin, TX. Saludos

    How do they get the horns? Kill live animals just for the horn? Or eat the animal then take the horn?

    Interesting video. I'm not Jewish, so I don't understand why the shofars must be new every year. Do they decay & rot, and become non kosher? They probably sell the non kosher horns to tourist shops and non Jews who do not need the kosher instruments for sacred services. Thanks for this informative video and have a blessed day!

    • @saulchapnick1566
      @saulchapnick1566 Год назад +1

      Nice reply. Shofars do not have have to be new every year. There is just a demand for them.

      @@saulchapnick1566 Thanks for replying! Glad it's not necessary to buy a new shofar every year, since I'm sure a quality horn 🐏would be pretty expensive.🤮💸💸💰

    • @saulchapnick1566
      @saulchapnick1566 Год назад

      @@patsmith1497 actually, not as expensive as one may think. In fact, they are priced pretty reasonably. I do suggest buying a shofar in person rather than online. It is important to try it out. In other words, a shofar may be good for one person to blow, but not another one. They are each unique.

    • @patsmith1497
      @patsmith1497 Год назад

      @@saulchapnick1566 Browsing online, there are many choices, but one should be informed before buying in order to avoid getting something that may disappoint. Is it better to buy an unfinished horn, or a partially polished one, or a completely polished horn? If it's not completely polished, will someone who blows it get nasty horn gunk in their lungs? Do the larger ones sound better? Will the mouthpiece be the right size? I know the high holy days are done, but I was thinking of gifting a nephew who is a professor at the Masters college, since he teaches biblical Hebrew & Greek, and has actually been to Israel. So it's not so easy to gift something that should be fitted in person before buying.

    • @saulchapnick1566

      @@patsmith1497 I love your questions. I do not know where you live, but if you are in proximity of a Judaica shop, go there. Of course call first to make sure they have them in stock. The shofar may be more expensive at a judaica shop, but you will avoid the heartache of being ripped off.
      By ripped off I mean an inferior product that would smell or have that gunk in them. I read too many articles about ripoffs.
      A quality shofar is clean in the inside and does not have that odor. I have never experienced that type of shofar in the shops I mentioned.
      In this day of Covid, a shop may be leery having you test them out. Just ask the salesperson to try it out.
      Finally polished or unpolished? It’s a matter of personal taste. I love the unpolished or semi-polished shofars. There is an authenticity about them.
      Long, short or medium? The short ones are for kids and impossible to emit a sound. I found a short one in Israel, but it was very curvy and does great. I love it, but it’s an exception to the rule. It took me a couple of trips to find a perfect short one.
      A long one, if made right, should be easy to blow. Real shofar blowers buy them for bragging rights. I do not like them because you have to schlep those monsters around.
      The shofars (medium) shown in the video were perfect for my taste. They were curvy, hence an easier sound, and I just love those bumps, it gives it a natural look. It is much easier to carry along.
      Hope this helps.
