The only minor criticism I can think of at this time is the chatter of the units feel too much like old Command and Conquer and not very realistic, but I don't know, maybe is a nice thing?
The chatter in World in Conflict was so much better would love to hear something like that again.
I always say that we need Massive to create WiC2....but yeah, there's Ubisoft..
Massive also could make a RTS with End War setting and it'd be awesome!

I just want details like no health bars but visual damage we are so advanced in these game genres now but cant keep up with an old game like call to arms where when a vehicle gets hit its not a health bar is actually visual damage and components being broken off
Call to arms is at an entirely different scale where that is much more feasible. @@stonerslawth6258

I absolutely love the scale of the urban environment, something I wanted from Wargame for ages
wargame didnt start getting bold with that till right now with . urban warfare is their actual focus but its like too late for me i totally shifted focus to broken arrow
I found it very interesting when playing the closed beta how important SAMs and ballistic missiles became for both RU and US players, and how unimportant planes were. NATO doctrine relies on overwhelming air power for both air defense and ground attack, but that doesn't work when you have two armies that are basically at parity with one another fighting eachother. That's also exactly the situation in Ukraine right now: neither side has control of the skies, and so both sides have made heavy use of tactical ballistic missiles and SAMs while the use of air power to deliver ordnance has been very rare.
... NATO discovered that the moment that their air power hits a semi-competent IADS, it literally falls flat back in Serbia. Ukraine is simply reinforcing that truth.

@@TheTrueAdept I'm sorry, what? Half of the Serbian army's equipment was destroyed in the air campaign at the loss of whopping 2 aircraft. Since when is that falling flat?
@@kusajko3644 nope, Serbia didn't suffer much in terms of losses despite NATO's air campaign. NATO inflated its stats, and when the post-intervention parades happened, NATO was flabbergasted that Serbia had pretty much all its equipment still.
Their IADS (of Vietnam vintage, no less) did its job.

10:56 when he moves the unit it says “someone called for a cab?” If I am not mistaken that is an easter egg because the same thing was said by car units in Command and Conquer 3! It hit me with a nostalgia.

Im not usually an MP guy but after enjoying the demo so much, I gave the closed MP beta a shot and it was fun. Very excited to see SP stuff though. I hope the general AI is good for playing MP modes against bots etc.

Looks awesome, only gripe was I didn’t see a lot of conventional infantry. I was hoping to see some 10th mountain guys, or even some 82nd and 101st airborne guys. But hey they had my BFIST on there! Very impressive. Most people don’t even know what that is.
Ive been waiting for this game since it was first announced, the demo gave me hope for a good RTS game
I like the fact that you don't need to saturate an area with hundreds of units to control it, a single AT squad can deny a huge area for armour same with AA for air, it really forces you to think about your movement and placement of units.
no, a single at unit cannot do that. It will run out of ammo before anything
Hyped to play this, not so much MP cause "try hard" not my thing but i hope the Skirmish is fleshed out and we get a "Dynamic" type Campaign/Campaigns even with DLC i will be happy to buy also. Hopefull and excited to see this release for sure :)

This looks very cool. Takes me back to World in Conflict a bit, though it has a bit more going on.
At 35:41 lol, they actually added Cav Scouts in the game as separate entity (without MOS) and true to their name as Javelin Team. Very inclined to buy this game now, seeing how the developers trying to making it more of the milsim RTS rather than something like tank rush C & C.
I still play World in Conflict on occasion so I am super excited for this game

I'm glad WARNO finally has some competition. WARNO's 2 year long EA that was only supposed to be 6 months until full release is getting so stale. From "weekly updates" that have been removing content rather than adding, I am looking forward to this game very much so
I'll expand for anyone interested. I bought WARNO day 1 with the promises of Army Generals in EA, 2 years later, and soooo many "soon" promises, and now recently them announcing AG may not even be in EA(which was a major selling point of EA) i've lost hope and faith in Eugen. Never giving another dime to that lying company.
Lastly no dates on a roadmap of full release or army generals
@TheDIRTBIKER10 Honestly warno is in a great spot rn. Still super fun and to say that they've just straight up removed stuff during updates is disingenuous, compare to when the game released and SO much has been added, although the lack of army general is frustrating.

if one team captures all zones, its instant win
otherwise winner is decided on timer end; winner is the one holding more points, else its a draw

didnt play warno myself, but everyone who i ask (and played both) say broken arrow is far faster with less units. As a personal note, there's no defined frontline, as it is about maneuver warfare
reminds me of warno aside from not needing fuel.

It's the little things, like hearing troops say "slow is smooth, smooth is fast." You can tell actual veterans worked on this game. I have never heard anyone say that outside of the Army :)
I want and hope they make it the most detailed and eye candy game possible. I want to see details like people exiting a hit tank, i want pilots ejecting and planes smashing in a building. I want a medium paced game, not like Wargame or Warno where you just can't appreciate the game because everything is happening so fast. Also, i am looking for more realism in even the projectiles and rockets when they impact something, it's not necessary everything to be just explosions. The ability to blow up bridges or even flood up sectors. I mean i know war is a terrible thing and i do not endorse it in any way, but the closer they can make this to a type of realistic simulation of a war, i think the more enjoyable it will be. There is no other game like this. I like the map and the more up close and zoomed idea of the game, i really hope they do not stop here and continue making this the best possible game.

@@jwithersooon it's a totally valid reason why he stopped, Devils been through a lot no doubt. I still miss them though. Not sure if you're firmilar but jingles used to do mingles with jingles about his time in the royal navy during the falklands war and desert storm, I miss hearing those stories as well. Either way I'm glad they're doing wall and still doing what makes them happy!

This game has 3 main issues (played closed beta for 29 hours)
1 unit balancing
2 the respawning units its easy just give an option for turning it off and on
3 and the one that worries me
maps....even though the point of the game is urban combat all of the maps seem diffrent versions of the 1 map
Compare that to warno and wargame
Problem 1 and 2 are easy to fix but....
Im scared guys this is the closest we have been to perfection

So, I played and loved Command & Conquer Generals and the Zero-hour expansion pack, I also heavily played WiC and the Soviet Assault expansion. I know this game is closer to WiC, does anyone know if this is basically WiC set in current times?
It's actually a little more hardcore than WiC. Expect a slightly higher learning curve.

So when you lose a unit, they will recharge to become available to be bought again?
Yup. You aren't a Brigde or a Regiment. Your playing as an entire Army Corps.

How hard is this game to understand as a new comer to the genre? I play Total war, but nothing quite like this; RTS on a grand scale. Looks awesome tho!
Not that bad you just gotta learn the tricks to some units and be proactive and pay attention don’t just set up a defensive line and expect it to hold with out any qrf or support
Fairly forgiving if you understand military tactics, which I assume you might if you are a TW player. As you can see in this video, the big difference in the teams was that US was working together, spreading out units, actually caring about positioning, etc. and it paid off heavily against the russian team which was just blobbing tanks and throwing stuff at the front without any real thought.
@@shadow7988i was amased by total absence of counter-battery fire, hence atacms were able to deal that much dmg
personally, i always bring arty for counter battery fire, otherwise i will be kinda fucked
@@user-pe8yi9uh7d I'm pretty sure the russian team didn't even know they needed S-300's with the RADAR TURNED ON to stop all those TBM's. US team pretty much had free license to bomb away anything they could see with impunity.
