You have 2 very simple problems. The fuse is a common problem. Replace it with a higher amperage. You will never have electrical problems again. As far as the running issue, you probably have a little piece of dirt in the carb. Take it off and clean it. These carbs are fantastic. These bikes are known to be bulletproof reliable. You have 2 very simple issues that can be fixed in no time.
Sounds like he mixed two words into one = I call that a "Sniglet". Like being sneaky & secretive = "Sneakrative". That's my word from the mid 90's but this guy is the 1st one I've heard complain about the whole bike. Either he's got a complete lemon or there's something else going on? It's almost like something got changed/added or modified & this is a result of doing that? But IDKnow anything except I like the bike & almost have the money to pay cash. Ride safe, peace
Honda sources this bike from a Chinese manufacturer and has it built in China as well to save labor costs. It is built to a price, but I think being a bike Honda is willing to put their name on says it is probably good.
Couple thousand miles of absolutely beating the hell out of mine and zero issues. I actually was impressed how well the carb was setup for coming off the show room.
Totally disagree. I had one and loved it, sold it at 3k miles which I rode in 6 months, and was already kicking my own ass for selling it as the guy drove off. Zero problems and didn't even feel broken in until 1100 miles at which time I felt a performance increase. Only reason I sold it was because I thought I wanted to try something different as an around town and backroads bike but I quickly found out I'd have rather kept the XR.
Total agree my bike took 1100 miles to 1400 miles before I was getting my consist top speed of 62/63mph flat road no headwind tucked down , I have hit 66 mph drafting a bus , this felt like the good old days cycling and drafting busses across the city with cheers from the riders encouraging me to stay in the draft as the bus topped out between stops .
I did the exact same thing. I had a black 2023. Put 2500 miles on it and absolutely loved it but I thought it was time for an upgrade. Sold it and bought a very low mile 250L. The 250L is faster, bigger and more "capable", but that's all. The XR is lightyears more comfortable, lighter, smoother, better on gas, more nimble and all around more fun. I had deep regret, so I just bought another one and now all is right in the word again. The 250 is collecting dust now.
@@back-engineered Interesting story, almost same as me! I got a KLX230 so I'd have more top end speed to keep up with people on bigger bikes, but it's nowhere near as comfortable and smooth as that XR was. And honestly I don't ride with others that often so would have been fine. I like the KLX now and have adapted. But if I could go back I would have just kept the XR because it was just smoother and more comfy overall and honestly was ample for 99.9% of the riding I want to do. And you are right, it's amazing on gas (I was getting between 97 and 107 mpg when I checked).
Sounds like you got a lemon for sure. bought one this summer and two weeks later made a 1,500 mile plus trip from North Idaho to southern Utah and back. Did service at a dealership in Twin Falls and even took some routes on dirt roads. It’s not fast, but dependable. I’m considering buying a second one for my family.
I have 2024 bought it in saigon vietnam I put 10.000 miles with regular matinence not one problem I weigh 210 lbs my girl weighs 100 lbs we carry 30lbs luggage I traveld throughout vietnam north and south mountains galore and it does excellent fuel mileage excellent you got a lemon bro
I had the exact same issue. Took it back to the dealer multiple times, they couldn't figure it out. Finally dealer set up a video meeting with Honda corporate tech. Turned out to be vapor lock, caused by a twisted vent line from the fuel tank. Issue specific to carbureted motors, so most newer techs aren't familiar with them anymore, because most bikes have fuel injection since like 2000. Pressure built up in the fuel tank, eventually choked off the engine. Would wait about 10 mins, then would crank again, but only run another 5-10 mins before choking off again. Fuel tank eventually expanded and deformed, was replaced under warranty. After fixing vent line, ran fine. Thr dealer I worked with was not great, made it clear it was my problem, on a brand new bike, too bad for me if they couldn't fix it. I was shocked... bought a Honda thinking they would stand behind their product. They made it clear, I was saddled with it, my bad luck. Wow. Now that it runs, I'm happy with it. A year on now, the fun I have riding helps me forget the crap experience at the beginning. It seems like they are holding resale value, somewhat hard to find, so you should be able to sell easily.
A couple of suggestions: 1. The choke lever on the bike works exactly opposite to the bikes that I remember as a kid, and the Hondas I bought for my own kid. The fully down position is no choke, and fully up is full choke. If you've had other Hondas, you may be using it backwards. 2. When I bought mine (used), it had old gas and the pilot jet was clogged. Fully remove the jets and clean them. Cleaning the carb is super easy, but you do have to disconnect and reconnect quite a few hoses. 3. As mine has broken in (I bought it with very few miles), I have found that I have had to gradually increase the idle speed using the screw on the side of the carb. Do this only when the bike is fully up to operating temperature, and 1/8 a turn is probably all it will take. This should solve your "flame out" issue. 4. Mine has had no electrical issues, but motorcycles in general are subject to shorts from pinched wires. Maybe inspect the wires around the seat mounts and side covers? Those things are tricky to remove and install and maybe a wire got damaged.
Click bait.. if you have been riding Hondas since the 70's and 80's then you should know how to work on it.. I've bought and rode Hondas all over the world for 30+ years and no problems.. you're making this video on RUclips, of which, you can find any video on how to fix it.. lazy American culture.. it's a cheap bike. Get over it bro!
I had one for 8 months put 2500 miles on it never a problem with the running the carb never failed me it started every time never had to use the choke one time even in 40 degree weather. I traded for 2024 a honda rebel 300 absolutely love the rebel to honda instill by far the best bike in my opinion, your just not taking care of it stop crying. Go get a yamah ha ha stop downing honda because of one bike.
@tedalley3865 Learning takes a lot of failures. Eventually, you will understand your overthinking so long as you keep at it. If you get a new carb do 26 or 27. You have these 4 circuit carbs are pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Focus is on Main jet= full throttle biggest jet Pilot jet = idle long skinny jet with like 5 holes Needle jet= controlled by throttle mid range tuning Idle first go rich then bring it down till it runs right move on to full throttle max rpm go up until you bog then bring it down to make it smooth then play with your needle jet. If when adjusting your needle jet you can play with what transions better between setting.
Been riding my piece of shit XR 150L for 7 years with almost 30k kilometers on its odometer and so far I didn't encounter a single major problem with it.
If you think its broken then March your ass down to the dealer and get your bike fixed period . You do know it is a carburetor and it must be jetted to your sea elevation or it definitely will run poorly . This bikes are jet on the lean side to start with With a 115 main jet recommended at or above sea level . As for electrical issues mine had a pos wire to the coil not push on to its connector completely easy fix . But pane in the ass agreed . I have heard that the main fuse is not big enough to always handle high beams on and a hard start with the carb heater ok on and say brakes lights as well pulling max power can and will probably blow the stock fuse , I believe there is a spare fuse in the fuse box . Just swap it for the next larger fuse . Solved ? As for the low cost of purchase be thankful . Power and speed can be fix cheaply buy a big bore kit and larger carb and cable maybe a pipe or mod your pipe and double your hp. Simple and easy to do . Every other big bike is a least $2000 more than this bike and guarantee thier seat are hard as rocks and not near as comfortable as this plush riding dual sport . They are made in China and assembled in Mexico . Can't blame Japan ? Buy the XR190L from South America or the XRE300 sounds like the bike you really want anyway .
Those ,are made in the Philippines or somewhere like that to save on production cost but all other Hondas are still high quality assembled unfortunately most of thw, worlds parts are made in china backed factories. China only allows top quality made product to be shipped inside their country. All others are, designed to fail
I'm in the Philippines with a XR15OL, zero issues. I blew the main fuse once, my fault. I was doing some modifications and momentarily shorted to ground. Our bikes are made in China, I heard the NA bikes are made in Mexico? My XR has been flawless with quite a few mods. I'm definitely getting my $1800 worth.. (price in the Philippines for my 2022 XR )
Wow I’m still buying a Honda best bike to have in the woods if your overweight why would you buy a bike that can only pull 300lbs max plus why would you complain about fuses doing there job if you crank it to long of course it’s gunna blow a fuse that’s better than burning up the starter you should have bought a bigger bike 😂🤣🤦🏼that was fuel injected this bike is simple to work on just buy a repair Manuel and get to work I’m getting one for shure it’s better than a scooter and cheaper than a car and just for giggles my 2008 Honda CR-V has 252000 miles and still going you can’t drive stuff and expect it to last if you don’t maintain it 🤦🏼🤡🌎
I found a repair manual online free only difference is the free one is the Asian model , but great for all specs, toques, maintenance requirements ect . It was a PDF file put it on my phone .
First of all it’s made in Mexico, parts are sent from Japan, second off your bike is running to lean that’s how they come from the factory, you need to tune the carb, second off Honda is better than the Kawasaki btw lol 😂
Go ahead give up.the best seat . on all other dual sport bikes there seats are like a plank . My GL1800 seat is like a couch the XR150L is very comfy and my Navi is surprisingly soft ride for a minimoto .

not an ounce of intelligence to be found in this man, I think im about done listening to your hot breath sir.
