    The main thing that scares me about the overseas heads is dropping valve seats. But, it is tempting because of the price difference. Thanks for the comparo

    Great video and thanks for putting it out in with you on the price of “desirable” iron heads like you said i just can’t rationalize paying near new prices for an old set of heads with unknown history

    My buddy gets good results porting the Magnum heads. His channel is "Real Live Human Drummer" and his hobby is building small block Mopar engines. He ran a F.A.S.T. class 71 Duster.

    Which extreme comp cam were you running and which purple shaft did you replace it with I always try to find the old purple shafts for my daily drivers and especially street and strip cars

    core shift, quality of seats / guides / machine work is what you are paying for (or not depending what you spent) but with a horrible chamber on the edelbrock you may as well put your money somewhere else. AFR or Trick Flow the only way to go if you are going to spring for aluminum heads. Ask me how I know!

    I gotta chuckle.....it wasn't to long ago there were NO aftermarket aluminum heads for Mopar. No we're critiquing the Chinese vs US heads and complaining about the chamber in the US ones. 😅

    I'm gonna keep my mouth shut about speedmaster. I will say for a street engine,Speedmaster is probably fine for mild performance. However for a full out race engine or serious street engine....dont do it. EVER...ask me how I know. and I've tested a BUNCH of their stuff. That is all :). Great video!

    • @frankrizzo3922
      @frankrizzo3922  Год назад

      Definitely a noted point... I'm hoping mild hydraulic cam be fine... but now thinking nitrous maybe lil much for speedmasters.... always something.... I have heard of pretty hopped up engines running speedmaster heads but might be a time-bomb.... 😮 so maybe just a Saturday night cruiser it be ok like you say.... so far mine looking good!

      @Marksracingengines Год назад +1

      @@frankrizzo3922 Naw your gonna be fine with that, even nitrous. One of my customers regularly hits em with a 250 shot and to be fair we never had a valve seat fall out like I hear some saying. And I've probably used 30 to 40 sets on various different engines. The main problem we had with them was combustion chamber misalignment issues and Thread issues with the rocker shaft bolt holes on Small Block Mopar BUT that was with huge roller cams and springs. However I have several customers out there running around with them on their Flat tappet Mopar's with no issues. Sorry Brother I should have elaborated a little better lol

    I’m running low 10’s on a 100 shot with the 210cc SBF Procomps with a mechanical fIat tappet cam. I reworked the heads myself. I redid the valve job, lots of clean up in the runners, and especially the bowls and combustion chambers. I spent more time measuring than porting. I didn’t want to destroy the efficiency of the heads. Yes Procomps are junk and you’re way better off saving your money buying AFR, Brodix, Pofiler, Dart, and Trickflow. The end product, name brand heads are cheaper.

    I know your not a millionare but I know a multimillionare when I see one 😅 Im just messing with ya 😂 I bought a set of the 210cc speedmaster heads bare for my 347 pinto and ported them and had them milled which bumped my compression up to 11.3:1 and they make really good power for the money and if the eldabrocks do flow more i bet Its not much but a buddy of mine had a set of used stock ford speedmaster heads flowed and they flowed 283 which is more than the big name companys claims of a similar sized head. Ive never had mine flowed but it did make more power on the dyno than others ive seen with similar sized name brand parts and same size motor . I bet if u ported both of those heads they would make similar power on the same engine . They have stepped up there game a lot compared to the older castings speedmaster has. I always like to have my heads milled to the seat for the added compression . This was a good comparison video between the 2. I hope u feel lots of extra power off of the Eldabrocks with the amount of money u paid for them but its probally gonna feel the same but fingers crossed🤞 Ill be waiting on the next video with the results of the seat of the pants feel . 👍

      Thanks for your input and ill bet your 💯 correct ...that truck will feel the same at full throttle and only my bank account feels the seat of pants acceleration of me going broke..lol. 😮

    • @79beans347
      @79beans347 Год назад

      🤣😂🤣😂 Hopefully not , Im hoping that you will notice the real seat of the pants feel being forced against the seat burning tires every gear and not your wallet going flat faster than your truck goes 😂 I tell ya another good head to try and thats Promaxx project x heads. You can get those for around 1200 bare or 1500 ready to go and they flow better than all of the big names with a 58cc chamber. I feel like they are going to grow into one of the big names eventully

    Has anyone put the SpeedMaster heads on a flow bench? I have not seen any numbers on them. My buddy bought a set SpeedMasters for his Oldsmobile and could not find flow bench data for those either.

      I have flowed both the Speedmaster and the Edelbrock heads. They are nearly identical out of the box. Both peak at 240-250 cfm at 0.500 lift.

    I run a comp cam in my car and the power does not come on like my Purple shaft cam did. The wider LSA is better if compression is at extremes . Better if the Purple shaft hydraulic cams could have a 1.7 Rocker arm. don t be fooled into thinking trick flow heads are street head They flow better with almost .650 lift cam to get real power and lower are kind of weak on flow. maybe a set of Shop ported Speed Masters would be better for a street style weekend racer

    Speed master heads have helicoil in the exhaust and intake bolt holes from the factory. That’s a big plus. Edlebrock don’t have that.

    The edelbrock (edelbroken) use cheap valves and powder metal valve seats, phone machine shops to verify, your comp springs are better than edelbroken, i hope you have the best of luck, the stuff that comes in the machine shop, well not so good, AFR,BRODIX never problems
