They better not change this. MaxTac are supposed to be literal one man armies capable of ragdolling Cyberpsychos by the dozen.

It makes no sense. Why would they be carrying guns that can't hurt people who are all kitted out? "Well they have more resources, so their cyberware is stronger." But they don't. The point of the setting is the corps have more resources than the local government. These guys are each like Adam Smashers in their own right. It's stupid.
@@ULTRAOutdoorsman Pretty sure MaxTac is corporate lol. They're not government / public servants. NCPD are local government and you can see how fast a well geared V just wastes them.
@@cdawg0616Maxtac is a branch of the NCPD but they are called in specifically for cyberpsychos. They are part of Night City government however lots of their gear is made by Corps.
@@cdawg0616By the way the Corps have major influence in the city government anyway so it doesn't really matter if it's government or not. They are practically the same thing in Cyberpunk 2077 it's even said multiple times that the NUSA and Militech are joined at the hip and that's not even accounting for the lore in the sourcebooks.

The build I use revolves around a berserk and a blunt weapon, you basically just stun them and snap their necks

V: it was legendary pushed my cyberware to its limits, the hardest battle I’ve ever faught in the end I killed 1 maxtac officers before the remaining 5 almost flatlined me

Their helmets resisted point blank shots at close range with very little drawbacks in Edgerunner, this isn't any different.
Yet you can punch them to death with normal fists.
Makes total sense.

If I can "convince" a highly trained borged out soldier to shoot themseleves in the head, surely I could ask them to take off their helmet first.
They're simply built different
Also worth knowing that the suicide quickhack isn't a garanteed death if the ennemy is strong enough, it's very rare but it happens
Nearly all bosses are immune to it and maxtac are now bosses
Some dudes really installed metal cranium inside their heads
It goes for all cyberpsychos and pretty much any health bar enemy.
Considering a sandevistan was all you needed to wipe the floor with them before this is a win in my book
They are a real and serious threat now consider them like a final test of everything you have learned in the game
Remember in Anime the first fight? The cyberpsycho guy shot a ton of ammo into maxtac head but nothing go through so this is make sense
I just wish maxtac would be nerfed just a TINY BIT, I just think V should be able to flatline them by the END of the game, then V would TRUELY be the most powerful character in Cyberpunk

Pretty sure that's intentional. You shouldn't be able to easily just obliterate them with a quickhack. THAT would make them broken, not this. They're pretty much the most powerful enemies in the game (excluding some bosses like Adam Smasher), and take AGES to kill.
its really LAZY way to fix them. Shitty trick instead of thinking how they can counter it in realistic way.

I'm pretty sure MaxTac is stronger than Adam in game as a group was able to beat him in like 2 min on update 1.6
Because his max level is 25, he might have changed in 2.0, but I haven't checked

Adam smasher is still laughably easy. Took me a minute on the highest difficulty and it was super disappointing. Honestly had more trouble with both Placide and Oda

So glad edgerunners exist otherwise I would be going in circles trying to figure out why the "u die now" ability wasn't working.
Yeah, I can see MaxTac being able to resist mechanical hacks like that. They’re probably trained for the exact scenario of someone trying to force them to harm themselves and others through hacking.
This makes sense, MaxTac is literally like the Judges in the Judge Dredd universe. If you remember in edgerunners, headshots literally just tickled these guys.
0:17 if you watch Edgerunner first episode, the Maxtac was constantly being shot rapidly by the cyberpsycho in the head yet he still calmly and slowly taking aim and executing the cyberpsycho
So I don't think a simple bullet can kill them even at their head lol

I dont think that is good justification. The anime clearly has scenes that are overdramatized to create a vibe (i.e Sandevistan gives a 4D appearance in the anime but not in the game). Maxtac being shot in the head over and over was just another one of those dramatizations.

The armor and thebfact that they shot themselves with a pistol explains why.

In fact you shouldn't even be able to hack Maxtac, the suit they wear creates a faraday Cage around themselves while the helmet acts like a separate relay allowing the to Hack cyber Psychos while being completely immune to hacks and any other form of an electronic attack themselves.
Their optics can instantly scan and categorize all of the cyberware used by their enemies and determine where the flesh ends and the Chrome starts allowing them to pulp their target without having to go through armour, those optics also instantly start to seek out vulnerabilities in The cyberware of their targets and shutting off any implants they can.
Self-targeting munitions instantly loose track of them, targeting optics straight up can't detect them, their augments are custom-made exclusives and upgraded every year (unless the officer in question doesn't want to change his augments).
Their suit is actually an extremely advanced and extremely expensive one off Exoskeleton Armour system That is custom made exclusively for every officer each with a unique quantum encryption algorithm which makes the suit nearly impossible to hack and even if you can hack one it is absolutely and completely different from every single other suit.
The fabric portion of the armor is ... Not actually fabric, it's actually a blend of Myamar synthetic muscle and Nanites weaved together into flexible micro Strings sandwiched in between super crystal meta alloy Hexagons that are controlled by the electrical nervous response of the officer in order to move as fluently as water and make it seem to the wearer like the cloth sections of the armor are no more rough or unwieldy than the finest of silks while at the same time being strong enough to take heavy machine gun fire without major degradation or damage.
The actual armour plates in the armour are self regenerating Blocks of intelligent Hyper alloy Covering Static Field generators that create a nearly impenetrable field of Static Field about 10 mm in front of the armor which can instantly remove the kinetic energy of any projectile (No there's no asterisk literally any projectile It doesn't matter if it's a 9 mm round or a freaking 16 in armor piercing shell from a battleship That thing is going to stop like if it had suddenly been put on stasis.... Because it effectively was.
Canonically the only way to stop this goddamn monsters is if you yourself are a monster on the level of Adam smasher or if you are smart enough to outplay them hard enough that you can actually overcome all of the bull crap level advantages they have on you and take them out like Morgan black hand.
I mean this guy's literally have what is effectively a force field generator in their goddamn front plates.
Nah the only way to beat one is to play it smart and defeat him in detail, one piece at a time, The problem is that maxtac never fight alone.
Count yourself lucky they weren’t successful in summoning their personas.
Even before 2.0, any enemy with a skull on it won't die to suicide. You need system reboot or cripple movment then grab them from behind to one shot them.

Cripple movement > go behind them > grab > snap neck > insta kill
No sane person uses a net runner build, just use a blunt weapon to stun them and snap their necks add a berserk to get the most out of it

No sir, this is the real MaxTac. They took bullets at point blank range without showing a single ounce of discomfort. They are literal apex predators in Cyberpunk.

Makes sense that Quickhacks aren't as effective on them, those helmets and eye visors they wear aren't just for looks.
They have ICE implemented visors, meaning basically a firewall in their suits. MaxTac are a Netrunners build worst nightmare.
Yeah, I was impressed, they survive (although barely) a full quickhack stack. Every non-boss enemy dies in 1 Synapse Burn, all cyberpsychos die in 1 stack. They are fun, though still farmable with the right build.
You didn't even hack them. They willfully shot themselves in the head just to flex on you.

I have found that if you remote control a swat vehicle, you can kill them in as little as two chunky hits (5000+ damage each)

Is this save prior to PL launch? I noticed with my save on Very Hard that I made before PL launch the damage scaling was broken (on everything). I made a new save (which hurt) but everything feels much more balanced. There are a lot of bugs with stats right now

Tried this on a cyberpsycho too and I'd say it's pretty good they have them only take off part of their health.= instead of full suiuciding.
Makes them feel tanky and gives you that "oh shit it didn't work" moment.

Maxtac is basically if you crossed Smasher with David Martinez, and gave them access to Every company's top hardware and firmware and 30 wars worth of simulations all with no ristrictions. Loved reading the shards about them.

I honestly enjoyed the fight i got in dog town when I managed to get 5 stars n get maxtac called in, had to learn how to efficiently maximize my use of the Sandy

Yeah the bullets actually do a capped damage amount. I had a regular ass high level enemy survive the suicide hack in the base game with a sliver of health. I was confused for a second before i finished the job but still funny af
People kinda forget there helmets can block multiple high caliber rounds
ok the grenade ye, but the Pistol is pretty accurate to lore since they are chromed out the ass and are wearing state of the art Armor. i
The grenade one honestly couldn’t even kill normal mob it never gonna work against maxtac

I mean it's at least accurate to the Edge Runners series. The guy at the very beginning was pumping iron like Hulk Hogan at the start and the Max Tac officer was able to just ease his way into the Phsycho's face with a shotgun to kill him.

System collapse is really gopd agaisnt them. I usualy hope they have a netrunner and then use overcharge in my deck so i can system collapse most of them. Then run in with my monowire with cyberware malfunction and it cleans up really well

There is a quickhack you can achieve towards the end of phantom liberty, probably the most powerful one and maxtac literally shrugs it off when you use it on them💀
That one actually doesn't make sense, no f-ing way maxtac has that good of an ICE they can just shrug off black wall AIs. If those ICE exist we wouldn't have a black wall.
Honestly, is it just me or they nerfed Netrunner? Or at least it seems like that. With the right combo of stuff on a Katana sandy build you can obliterate a maxtac team in like 2 sandy uses right after they get out their AV. While a netrunner build is kinda mediocre against them from what I’ve seen.

I like this realism. I also think it would be cool if they add in some awesome maxtack finishers whenever you die like a edgrunner finisher were they put the rifle up to your face doom style and put you out and a cool mantis blade finisher were they stab you like 20 different times and finish it off with a executive gollitine cut it would definitely put alot of emphasis on how there are enemies that are Vasily stronger than you in comparison think about it how cool would it be to be blasted to the floor by a shotgun and maxtack just walks up to you and steps on your chest and points the sawed off at you like some terminator and the last thing you see is a flash and your lights go out I can't stress you enough how much emphasis it would put on you to truly show you in night City that not only do your actions have consequences but that you can't expect attack whoever you want and get away with it at a certain.... extent I hope somebody from Project red acknowledges this pos comment

i love how it protrays the difference in cyber psychosis. there are some who are very weak and only have netrunning capabilities. then there are max tac. both are cyber psychos, only is MUCH more powerfull.
