East Main St. 2nd Alarm (Waterbury, CT) 2/21/20
WATERBURY, CT - Shortly before 8:00pm on February 21, 2020, the Waterbury Fire Department was dispatched to 693 East Main Street for a fire in large 3-story apartment building. First companies on scene found heavy smoke and fire in this structure that housed a homeless hospitality center on the 1st floor, while the top 2 floors were unoccupied. The fire escalated to the point where all of the Department's resources were engaged at the scene, as well as mutual aid being called in. There were no reported injuries at the time of this writing.

this is a late ass reply but the place on the bottom floor was for homeless people, the dude at 2:30 or so with the backpack and beanie I was standing outside talking too for a bit, and he was showering down there when they told him he couldnt be showering because the building was on fire. So it was a place for homeless to bathe, get some quick bites or meet eachother in a safer location, idk its waterbury its kind of just always interesting. Either or, the place is not existant at all and theres a sign for a demolition company up on a fence around an empty lot now in that area. Sad.
