  • Sup!
    My name is Jacob McDonald and I want to welcome you to my RUclips channel.
    In this series of videos I take you through my gynecomastia surgery and post-surgery recovery journey.
    My story goes like this. I developed gyno through the onset of puberty at around 12 years old and dealt with the sh*t that came with it for 15 long years.
    That included various levels of bullying throughout my school years, never feeling comfortable without my shirt on and an extreme anxiety surrounding wearing anything that wasn't dark in colour because all I could ever focus on was my nipples.
    It wasn't until I started going to the gym regularly at around 18 years old that I decided to do some research and figure out exactly what this was, why I had it and what I could do about it.
    I eventually found out about gynecomastia surgery not long after that and due to my particular case not improving or changing at all since developing it at 12 years old I knew that if I wanted to fix this properly I would one day need to get this surgery.
    The surgery was always out of reach due to the price and I also began to just live with it and accept my body. However my love for bodybuilding and training in the gym grew over the next few years and at the age of 24 I competed in my first bodybuilding show.
    I can safely say that at this point I was living life without too much of a worry because I had learned to accept it which comes with age and maturity, but certainly still lived with the anxiety around wearing light coloured clothing etc.
    I reduced my body fat down to single digits for the first time in my life at this point and realised that I may have what people might describe as a "minor" case of gyno but in my mind, it was even more pronounced.
    I knew that if I wanted to get back on a bodybuilding stage one day that I would need to get the surgery done.
    I was eventually able to find a surgeon that offered a drastically reduced price due to the surgery being covered somewhat by Medicare which is Australia's version of government subsidised health care.
    I finally decided to book the surgery and in November of 2017 at 26 years of age I had the procedure done.
    My recovery was a rocky one. It tested me mentally like I had never been tested before and through that I decided to bring my experience to my RUclips channel.
    That was one of the toughest things I've ever done but it did help me due to the support I received at the time and now has also gone on to help thousands of other men dealing with the same issues I faced.
    I faced depression, anxiety, regret, disbelief, and many more emotions throughout the recovery process but managed to stay strong and if there is one thing I can say with the upmost confidence as I sit here today, that would be that the surgery was still worth it.
    I want you to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing a surgeon, preparing your body prior to surgery and looking after it after surgery. Do what I say, not what I did.
    I've made a video playlist on my RUclips channel titled "GYNECOMASTIA" for you to find easily.
    Thanks for watching my video and have a great day!

    Thanks for making this series of videos. I'm in my 5th week of recovery, my story leading up it was very similar to yours. I got you beat by 5 years though, I'd waited 20 years to get it done. Really appreciate all the advice and information about pre and post surgery.

    HUGE thanks for these vids. I've seen loads of operation videos but little about the recovery and honestly if I hadn't had seen your ~30 day vids i'd be freaking out that it's WORSE, but seeing this at 6 months down the line - incredible. I'm yet to take the plunge, need to find someone reliable in the UK - Thanks again

    Bro, looks great now!!! I know you went through hell but result looks awesome. I wish I could do it my friend but I do not have the funds. My confident level is down with whenever I wear a t shirt or take off my shirt at the beach. I totally hate it but it’s just so much in the states (6G’s give or take) .. I’m getting older now and I’m not sure if it’s even worth it now. 😞

      @blabling55 5 лет назад +2

      EscobarStyle go to your Primary care physician. I went to a plastic surgeon at first and was told the same thing, over 6Gs. So I went to my family doctor and she referred me to a surgeon. Surgeon did my operation today and insurance covered it. Out of pocket pay on my part was around $1,000. That’s it. Nothing compared to 6 grand.

    Saw your past supplement vlogs from your youtube channel library (2015-2017). But I think a new June/July 2018 vlog would be very useful where you show your whey protein, fish oil, vitamin D, fat burner, BCAA, EAA (essential amino acids), creatine, pump, preworkout and other supplements that you take, and also list a direct purchase link for each individual supplement in your description box. You still buy MTS Whey? I bought first ever one a few days ago - is very nice! :D

      I do still buy MTS whey lol, I could never change now! It really is the best tasting protein on the market and top quality too. This supplement type vlog I could definately put together sometime. Stay tuned and thanks for the support on the channel :)

    Hi Jacob. I am from India and I am also in recovery phase. I am 24 days post my gyno surgery. Why didn't you opt for the vaser liposuction method for glands removal. It only gets you very small scars slightly below your armpits and they are not noticable. You should have done your homework before doing your surgery. Please make other sufferers aware about this VASER LIPOSUCTION TECHNIQUE , it is a game changer. And good luck for your future and thanks for inspiring me to get this surgery done. And also after month did you have any pain during workout sessions?

    • @JacobMcDonald27
      @JacobMcDonald27  6 лет назад +1

      How the hell do you suck out glands with liposuction bro? You need a scalpel, and they are CUT out. I'm not sure if gland removal is what you are talking about. Maybe you have stubborn chest fat, which can be removed through liposuction. What are your thoughts? I hope your recovery has gone well mate!

    Hi. I've had the surgery two and a half years ago, my case was a lot worse than yours and my breasts were almost identical to female breasts. I used to have 92 kilos and now i have 85(lost 7 kilos in 8 weeks).According to the internet calculators i still have to lose 13 in order to get to my ideal weight.Here's my question.My chest is very large and i am concerned wether my lady tits are coming back or not.I have been working out for the past 2 months and my muscles have some soft tissue on them.I don't know if it is fat or breast tissue.Do you know how to distinguish them ?Do you think my chest will get smaller as i lose fat? My doctor didn't touch my nipples btw, he said he was able to get everything out like liposuction.He took the tissue off from the sides of my ribs.Excuse the grammar mistakes please :)

      Hey Alister, it is ok to have your surgery done in India for cheaper, as long as you do find a top surgeon like you say. He does look legitimate, but you would travel to him and have a consultation in person before the surergy I imagine. I would reccommend trying to reach some of his past patients and ask them about their experience.

    well i had surgery 2 years ago with a bad doctor . i didnt do enough reaserch and he left so much in there . the problem i got here is every doctor i visite , the moment i take my shirt off and they touch it ...... it just shrink up and looks acceptable in some degree. and they all told me its too risky to take anymore out.
    ill go back to china this year and see if i can find any one do it for me . man every time i get lean it just there and it bothers me for long time. you had good result. thats lucky

    • @JacobMcDonald27
      @JacobMcDonald27  6 лет назад

      Where are you living mate? I know what you mean man, if it's there, it's there. That doesn't seem fair for your doctor's to say that and not hear you out. I have had an almost good result, after 6 months of recovery. I made my own set of mistakes on my journey, including using the wrong surgeon due to saving money. If I had my time again, I would visit Dr Lebowitz in New York and pay the money. Send him some pictures of your case and see what he says. Cheers.

      im currently live in chirstchurch . New Zealand . i spend 5000$ on that surgery. and i do not care if i need to spend more. i just want it out of my chest. because every time it shrink up in cold i have a very good physique . and when its not . it just ruin my body. its not that bad . but it is just something in there . i was just desperate to take it out and went to the wrong surgeon. ill revisite the doctor very soon and i will wear shit tons of cloth to keep me worm and hopfuly i can get revision surgery that i wanted. if not thats fine. ill see what i can do in Australia and China see if i can get it out from there. travel to America for this surgery is very unrealistic for me . i have no friends in there and i have no family or partner to come with me. have a surgery with out some one look out for me its very risky. however if all other plan has failed, if there is no other way i might just visit Dr lebowitz in new york. money is not a issue for me currently.
