Even the basic lasgun has at least 2 modes of fire.
While Clone blasters are always shown firing semi auto, they do have a full auto mode. The use of semi auto is because they need accuracy and power over fire rate, especially against things like B2 super battle droids. Also, they lack an assault rifle like platform such as the A280 used by the rebel alliance

Clones wear armor that is designed to disperse energy weapons over a wide area and they are just as suicidally minded as Kriegers, given we never see Clones break and run and they are fully winning to charge head first into entrenched machine gun positions simply by being given the order.
Yeah they use Napoleonic style tactics, but through sheer grit it'd be close fight. Really comes down to which Jedi is in command.

I strongly agree. The scales of power have to make it interesting. If one side just flat out owns the other the set up loses flavor. And we've all heard the "my special thing is more special than yours!" before.

Actually not a lot would happen to her the krieg don't really discriminate against xenos unless they are fighting them and even then they tend to ignore children unless their under the command of a salamander chapter.

Here’s what I will say. As I am biased towards both. One kriegers are much better for attrition warfare, they also make the sith look like saints. The clones are all rounders and can take advantage of any weaknesses with their adaptability. This battle would Boil down to where ,when, and circumstances

@noahn627 yeah especially given I'll be honestyI think 40k fans tend to be worse at hyping up there setting like the people cherry pick how effective the lasgun can be then claim it's the standard issue one (someone once tried a lasgun would pop tanks and is a semi-autoversion of the spartan lazer in halo and the amount of people who tell me the standard issue hit's like a 50 cal are liars it's a semi auto mosin nagant so 7.62 ) though yeah disney writers also like using the force as a blanket excuse so yeah comes down to bias

@Dazzybhoy31 Blasters dont kill only because clone armor is OP normally your organs are fried from one shot no matter where. The clone armor is designed to disperse heat and force so it makes them live.

There's alot of story potential from the Clone Troopers prespetive if the Republic had to fight a krieg army. Discovers a large majority of Kreigsmen are Vat Grown with officers and riders being being mostly natural humans. Really hammers in the "Organic Droid" aspect that could have been as they have a bit of a crisis at the thought.
A bit of clone mutiny as kaminoians look to "upgrade" the clones to match kriegs.
I've always said that the Clone Wars were actually two droid armies duking it out.
@CteCrassus they were meant as that orginally. Like that box droid Gunk (Or Lord Gunk IYKYK) that was just supposed to be a prop, a minor footnote, a small detail that was mostly supposed to be forgotten but the fans either demanded to know more (as was the case with the clones) or accidently got roped into more and more cannons (like gunk did in multiple comics and even the battlefront games)
@@ReaperofValhalla No, what I mean is that, at the end of the day, Clones are just bio-droids; Bonus points by the fact that, just like conventional droids in Star Wars, they come out the factory as emotionless and devoid of any distinct personality but can eventually develop one of their own.

I feel the choice of clone is ironic considering Wolf's 104th clone battalion was all but obliterated during season 1 of the clone wars.
But then they returned......and were then dissolved by the empire.......but they returned (kinda. Idk if you count Gregor's joke to Wolf during rebels about the wolves being like wolf's old Wolfpack)
I dont typically like the "this universe vs that one" stuff, it descends into playground power scaling to quickly, but this song is just so flipping good I cant force myself to dislike it.
Yeah I agree. I'm not at all a 40k fan I'm all for the clones and I just don't like when people through a force like the death Korps at my boys. Its, as much as I don't want to admit it, unfair. I find myself constantly trying to find away for the clone to win, which they could definitely hold their own, but not for long. I'd just rather 40k stay in 40k and star wars stay in star wars.
One of the few Star Wars vs Warhammer matchups that's actually highly competitive, the tactical flexibility, intelligence, and brotherhood of the clones vs the infinite discipline, brutality, and sheer firepower of the Death Korps. I don't think that there would be a reliable winner, it would heavily depend on circumstance, IE the clones would excel in urban warfare but Krieg would dominate on an open field, hit and run situations would favor the clones, wars of attrition would favor the kriegers, etc.
Oh trust me. The Korps wins this. Just look at Vraks.. once the maskers show up on a world and they're not on your side? ..you can kiss that world goodbye. They *will* have that world, no matter how long it takes, or how many guardsmen must fall to take it.
Vraks took 17 years. And not once did they falter. The moment they start to dig in, its over for the defenders. (And in case the Korps is the ones defending, you might as well not bother. They build fortifications that make even the Fists and Iron Warriors blush)
@@shoulderpyro I'm assuming both sides get equal "points" worth of forces and an equal start. You can't assume Krieg just has infinite reinforcements to spam suicide charges until they win, or that they get to start out heavily entrenched and fortified.

...Krieg still wins. Simply due to the sheer size difference and logistics behind the imperium's war machine and that of the GAR. one regiment of guardsmen, specifically the Kriegsmen, is 200k troops.
One regiment of clones meanwhile is barely cresting the 2.3k.
..the unfortunate thing with these comparisons is that people often just look at the frontline fighters and thats it. Yes, theyre the ones doing the damage but its the logistics that win the wars. And unfortunately for the GAR thats one thing the Korps excels at. Even if we were to give both sides an equal 10k troops it'd be far from an easy win for the clones
@@shoulderpyro Yeah, it would be equal points worth of forces, obviously the kriegers don't get 200k troops to the clones 2.3k (and you're wrong, clones were organized into legions of 9,216 troops and roughly 7,000 support personnel, plus a Jedi General). But GAR logistics is great, actually, compared to pretty much anyone in 40k because they have hyperspace, faster, more reliable, more accurate FTL than using the Warp.

If you want a legion of clones at 9k active troops, you're up against a siege army at 9 million troops.
The one thing that has me worried for the GAR with their logistics is that from what we know (or at least, what I can remember) is that their entire logistics chain relies on their fleet in orbit. They only have minimal supplies on the ground itself.
The Militarum meanwhile does need ships to ferry in additional munitions and vehicles but its got one hell of a logistics chain down on the surface too once its established. Granted, Hyperspace is more reliable than the Warp but the funny thing is that the Korps has another advantage there hidden in a disadvantage
Its not guaranteed a ship leaves the warp unscatched or without stowaways.. Its entirely within the realm of possibility that a ship crashing into the surface with what was meant to be Krieg reinforcements.. ..will instead spew forth a horde of Daemons. Which in turn leads us to another and in my opinion more interesting discussion; Will the Militarum and GAR be able to cooperate - and how would they adjust to each other's weaknesses and strengths?

Personally, I put the clones in the Grand Army of the Republic above your average guardsman. They are simply more skilled, loyal, and most importantly, versatile. If the ratio was 1:1, the clones would likely win. However, the main strength of the guard isn't quality, it's quantity. The G.A.R. would likely find itself in a similar position to the Tau where they could be wiped out if the Imperium wanted them to be. But, they'd be strong enough that exterminating them would leave them vulnerable to the other factions.

@oliwierbroda2575yes, of course if we use a bit of realism, the republic would have billions if not trillions of troops, maybe just a few lf them would be clones, and the others would be normal soldiers, humans of aliens... If the republic (or other Star Wars faction) uses that aliens capabilities wisely, that would be a greath advantage for that faction
allso output krige allone outputs hundreds of millions if not lov billons of blooded and fully equiped trops dont thinck they haw a naval jard in the system but could be wrong whilles kamino could att most out put tens of millons and need the republic to get armor weapons and ships
That depends *vastly* on which Guard regiment you're talking about. Also, with how ridiculously diverse the Guard is, there's quite literally no conceivable environment or method of warfare at least *one* regiment isn't hyper-specialized to fight in.
Additionally, the weaponry the Imperial Guard can bring to bear greatly outshines near anything the Clones can muster.

A really good song. I personally think that clones would have won a battle against krieg (at least ones from legends) as they are unbelievably op(during some battles of the clone wars clones won against armies of droids 200 times bigger than theirs, and in legends droids aren’t a completely weaklings (2/3 b1’s = 1 local defense trooper (the Star Wars version of 40k’s imperial guard and a way in which the republic can hold even with only 1,5 billion clones at most during the clone wars (there were around 300 trillion planetary defense force’s soldiers) and also the army they were battling obviously was never composed solely of b1’s

..the clones might hold for a while, but they will break. All break before the Imperium's might - especially when that might comes in the form of trench-digging maskers.
Krieg usually uses swarm tactics which clones are used to (after all they fight against cis which in legends has more droids than the galaxy has citizens). Also clones are literally copies of mandalorians which were training for their entire life. Also guardsmen are literally the 40k version of local defense forces which were usually slaughtered by droids (in legends it’s not that droids are weak but that clones and Jedi are op) which are in turn slaughtered by clones. Also while trenches are quite effective against clones I think I should remind you that clones eventually won the battle of mimban by founding weakness in their enemies trench tactics (it was still a battle that continued for whole clone wars and even few years after the end of the clone wars so trenches are quite effective. However while clones have problems with attacking trenches they literally stomp each time they face bayonet charges)
@@starman_3393 Guardsmen are not the equivalent of planetary defense forces, though. A Planetary Defense Force, or PDF is common across the Imperium and is comprised of poorly trained and poorly equipped troops usually. A GUARD regiment is something not every planet has. They are many cuts above the PDF, and depending on how much the planet values quality, may be MANY cuts above a normal GUARD regiment. The Death Korps is an extreme example of this. They have the most rigorous training, the best structure, and some of the highest numbers of any Imperial Guard regiments. They've been known to charge daemons and Chaos Marines without fear and during the seige of Vraks they were shown to employ tricky tactics when they needed to. Clones wouldn't know what hit them.
@@starman_3393 Well.. Its not just that. The clones might have an easier time with the Cadians, but out of all Guardsmen to pick.. they had to pick the Kriegsmen.
The ONE faction that doesnt care how many of their troops die, or how long it takes. Not to mention they vastly outnumber the clones, and aren't comic relief like the droids are.
You're looking at an easy 200 thousand Guardsmen per regiment, and the 88th Siege Army alone has 45 regiments. Thats a decent 9 million guardsmen, tanks, artillery, etc youre looking at.
A clone regiment barely reaches over the 2.3k clones.
So the numbers, along with their training and their belief in sacrifice to atone for their sins and you have a very, VERY dangerous foe on your hands. Now any star wars fan who has barely any knowledge of 40k might come in and say "but jedi" - to which I just have to say "Psykers are far more dangerous".
The korps knows how to deal with Psykers. Jedi dont even make a difference here.
The entire clone wars only lasted 3 years
The Siege of Vraks ALONE lasted 17 years, and Krieg still won. ...The clones arent winning this fight. I love em, but they're better off surrendering immediately

I have to say... this is a bad match up for the clones. I like them, but Kriegers have the intelligence of humans paired with the willingness to die just to take a few more enemies with them. In Dead Men Walking, a force of Kriegers almost managed to win against Necrons.

@restinpeace-s8c they don't need equivalents, because their combat tactics are different. Clones perform so well because for the most part they are fighting droids who cannot react to new changes quickly, giving the more adaptable humans the edge. Kriegers have been training for war just as long as the clones, travel in far larger numbers, and for the most part counter the clone tactics. Not to mention, Krieg artillery is physical based, which would bypass the energy based shielding the clones rely on.

@@restinpeace-s8c I'd still give the edge to Krieg. Best outcome I see for the clones is pyrrhic with both sides destroying each other. Clones are not used to the level of attrition Krieg fights with, nor the absolute willingness to die. It's an army of child soldier suicide bombers equipped with technology on par/better in some cases.
I agree with some of this, mainly how Kriegsmen wouldn’t be slowly turning if flanked and would actually adapt to unorthodox moves. Not to mention they don’t stop artillery and it might unnerve clones how these guys are throwing themselves into machine guns

Clones with their plasma weapons or blasters are simply superior, at least in training and specializations.
I agree that they have better equipment and better specialists. But a Krieger is a combat veteran by the time they leave basic training (replace every mock battle with an actual one). Even if you think clones would still be better, can you agree that the kriegsman would be better in melee (trench warfare being their specialty)
@theglassman1284 Well, I think the Krieg have better melee combat, but not by much. We have to remember that clones could fight on par with Mandalorians and droids in melee combat and are able to defeat them. I think the Krieg still win in melee combat because they have more specialized weapons in that area.
mandalorians do not melee demons of khorne with shovels, kriegers do.

@naturaangel3154 i can see your point with fighting mandalorians. But fighting through droids in in melee doesn't mean anything to me. Almost every single Droid is cheap, fragile, and not made for anything more than dying after shooting a few times. The commandos and the super battle druids
are the only ones I can think of that have any melee capabilities of note, and unless they were a main character (an exceptional near legendary figure) they were torn apart by them quickly.
(I will admit i am going off of non-legends clones troopers and incomplete knowledge. I have no idea what the book clones are capable of)

While the Clone Troopers are indeed a formidable force, this matchup goes to the Death Korps because they have held sieges longer than the useful service life of a Clone Trooper. The Kriegsmen just need to maintain the blockade and wait for their opponents to die of old age.
Two enemies, neither who will give in. Now give them both shovels. There you have it, trench warfare. A brutal war, with no end in sight. Like nothing that had come before.

The clones are honestly slept on in this match up. A lot of people say the Kriegers faces far bigger threats in numbers and in sizes they fail to account that the number of droids during the clone wars was consistantly in the quintillions while there were roughly only 3 million active clones. Love my boys from Krieg but in a 1v1 matchup clone wins any day longer battle experience(a Krieger would get a promotion if he survived over 24 hours in active duty) but the Kriegers have far greater numbers so in the long run the clones win but man it would be hell fighting them.
true enough but the GAR was also augmented by formations of non-clone soldiers. Basically SW's version of the Planetary Defense Force. At least if memory serves. So its not as if they were the only ones fighting the CIS armies.
@@Bronasaxon True, however, those were largely dissolved in the demilitarization of the Republic before the war. Come the time of the war there were little to no soldiers for the republic other than some ragtag freedom fighters and a minuscule amount of non-clone troops.

Personally, i prefer the empire and its regular human armies over the clones, despite disneys many of attempts to discredit them. However, as a legends fan i never let that bother me.
Still tho, the clones will always have a special place to me growing up.
If we are talking an open filed battle, Krieg has the mean, will, the better for long range small arms and apathy for life, both theirs, the clones the aliens, to win the day.
However, if it comes down to squad on squad in a condensed area, say a ship or building, the brotherhood, teamwork and the more compact weapons of the clones would give them the edge to win out....provided the Krieg engineers are engi-far away.

I'm a fan of both of these univers. But the clones would win, although this would be an intense battle. And something often not spoken about the clones is that your average clone was smart enough to know what sacrificing their life meant, and yet they continued to do so, not just as blind obedience. But in many ways they are similar, in some circumstances, their tactics are even the same, and so are there dispositions.
