    As A Firefighter we were taught never to put anything in a drinking glass other than something that is safe to consume for a human. You should use a one gallon water jug for filling. So you know how much you're putting in.

    I don't know why you don't fill the can with 2.5 gallons, that's what it's designed for. You can always go a few psi over, so that it's just a hair past the green, but still in the white section of the dial. And it's best to use a gallon container so you can put the foam or detergent in first. That's so you mix the solution without creating a bunch of foam, and you know exactly how much you've put it. Deleting that half gallon is like only putting five rounds in a six shooter...

      I think badger removed the tire chuck to discourage non technician refilling but that does not mean you cant go on ebay and see if you can find someone in a good mood to tell you a badger refill adapter I am not a fan of UTC products at the moment but if you want a badger adapter I see if I cant include a link here : please look at the description and see if the adapter is suitable to your badger unit Good Luck!!!! www.ebay.com/itm/324179065136

    Is a 100psi compressor good enough?

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle 2 года назад

      You can probably use and I have used a bike pump that max pressure is 160 Psi to fill your water can to 100 Psi a compressor is expensive and they probably would not like me to have industrial equipment that makes lots of noise in ,y condo so if I used some thing else I hand pumped air into a portable 5 gallon air tank to abot 120 Psi

    Just curious as to what's in the foam, is it non toxic or require special handling.

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle Год назад

      i think class a foam is ok but its not recommeded to have an extingusiher for home usage charged with class a foam if your only using it for class a fires the best option for home usage is to only fill it will to gallons and add a cup of ultra dawn dish soap as an about 2 gallon unit it should theoerticially work a little better if it has extra pressure space but the problem is once converted I doubt any one would consider performing the hydro test for you that the units needs once they figured out you modfied it in some way I have bought many water fire extinguishers that have additives but the expectation is that I am only going to use them one time than buy a new one ! the certainly were very costly there may be a modfication to make it work better than the unit in this video !!! class a foam I dont think was named in a lawsuit but afff was and as for a home usage unit just for class a fires it would probably be better to have added dish soap as I think its safer than class a foam in long term storage!

      @@Fredengle If you don't think you know what's in Class A foam then you don't know what's in Class A foam. Only Class B foam (AFFF) used to extinguish flammable liquid fires in aircrafts contains PFAS which is known to cause cancer in humans and animals.

    Can I add detergent or soap to the water ? I can't find a place to buy a small amount of AFFF foam.

    • @ffjsb
      @ffjsb 5 месяцев назад +1

      Dawn dish soap will work fine. You'll be able to put out small gasoline and oil fires. But DON'T try to put out a kitchen stove fire with it, you'll splash burning oil all over the place.

    Someone said do not squirt dish soap in there. The reason is cuz dish soap doesn't do anything to help put the fire out you should use something like this. FireAde AFFF Liquid Foam. Concentrate 1 Quart For 2.5 Gallon Water Extinguishers

    • @Fredengle
      @Fredengle 3 года назад +1

      you know what the problem is with that Idea ????? dont you know afff has a lawsuit? I dont think dish soap is as likely to be as highly dangerous if released into the environment if someone said not to use dish soap I bet they werent a firefighter becasue scientifically dish soap has in some cases been useds as the poor mans foam why does dish soap work it acts as a penetrant on class a materials when added to a water extinguisher

      I James I challange you to answer if dish soap does not doing anything why was I able to put out a fire with my water extinguisher that had dish soap in it and also I even put out a fire with one that had tide instead of dish soap dont you know fireade is named in a lawsuit for causing envirionmental damage? I challange you to show evidence that dish soap does not work because I think it had been proven to be effective it does not mean it has 100% effectiveness though
