This was a great video! Especially during women’s history month. With the anticipation for the draft next month and so many new eyes being introduced to the W or women’s basketball in general, it’s great for people to be more informed about the history of the league and recognizing the former and current superstars. Thank you for this!
@@ElusiveSasquatch I think you misread my comment. I mean that august is great a bringing light to how interesting the WNBA is, because I’m typically not a sport person!
South Carolina alum here. I started rooting for Vegas when they drafted A'ja, then started following the Fever a couple years ago when Henny, Tiffany Mitchell, and Alaina Coates were there together. Wild that the Aces are suddenly the evil empire to the rest of the league after watching them struggle for years. Waiting to see how the Fever grow; I'm just imagining a world where "Wilson vs Boston" is a must-watch matchup for the league.
Thanks bro I never really followed the W. Just started getting into it cause of all the coverage I don't live in the US so I'm rooting for my favourite player right now A'Ja Wilson But I really gotten into the W and i'm super excited with the young talent coming in how they will stack up.
*WHEN Caitlin Clark* plays for the Indiana Fever...You will see SLIGHTLY MORE TICKET SALES due to this phenomenal STRAIGHT-WHITE-MASTER-of-a-PLAYER, but it'll drop off as usual.
Long post alert* I am a Liberty fan. I was a fan during the launch of the league. I also followed the short lived ABL. I turn 42 this yr and the league came around at a good time. This was coming on the heels of the 1996 Olympics. I was a teenage boy following sports pretty heavily and was playing ALOT of pick up basketball up here in NYC(some call it the Mecca of BBall) As we progressed through the 2000s I fell off in terms of following the league closely. Might have corresponded w the Liberty not getting over the hump lol. Oddly enough I'd try to keep up w Cappie Pondexter (she was a college teammate of a girl who played at my HS). So I'd try to keep up w what she was doing and by default I'd hear about the leagues other star players and big names. But outside of that I essentially stopped watching the league as closely. Got back on board last season. Guess I am bad luck since the Liberty lost in the finals. Lol. I am slowly trying to fill the gaps and history of the good stuff I missed over the years. I am happy to see the advancements in the game. I look forward to the future stars of the league. They are able to build brands earlier using NIL and social media. When the league started ofcourse the backbone was comprised of vets who had established themselves abroad or had decorated college careers but didnt have a domestic league. Now as time goes on we can see players develop in real time over the years.
I second the position 👍 ! ! * Aiyah Boston and Caitlin Clark could run the ( United States Olympic Team ) and run the foreign basketball 🏀teams off the court ! ! "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)
Why watch a sports video on the very sport you have no interest in only to come to the comments section to proclaim you have no interest in said sport? Where is that rank on the IQ chart!! #Go WNBA✨️
As a teen in the 97, I tried to watch the WNBA and I wasn't interested because the WNBA colored ball was terrible and bad. They should have used the typical orange ball like women's basketball college.
The WNBA needs 28 teams overall especially considering the new generation of talent, Every NBA team should have an equivalent WNBA team that would be Huge for Women’s basketball but they need to let me Billionaires invest into the league for better circumstances and salaries for players
watched the video to learn about the wnba so i could start following my home team only to see that when the Atlanta section came it was just you clowning on them 😭
Griner was not abducted she was arrested for breaking the law. Who she was let go for was a travesty. The merchant of death for a WNBA player. Disgraceful.
We will see, I can name more of the teams but I’m only to the point where I’m following box scores. I’ll invest 30 to 60 seconds a day and to following it but won’t be wasting my time watching any of it.

Well put together video! Love the W! Already got my popcorn ready for next season! 🍿🏀😎
No one else could make me as interested in the WNBA
Yet you take the time to comment on a WNBA video.

A game between the WNBA champion and the Euroleague Women Champion would be interesting

Same.

Tamika Catchings is my GOAT - and not just cause she played on the same team as my ex sister in law in HS lol

because it appeared in my recommendation and hating on a terrible product is fun.
You could've at least gave Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray some props 😂😭😭 damn, Mid City?!
is the audio really quiet for just me or is it the video?

Please, an arms dealer for a ball player who doesn't even like this country. I guess potheads stick together.
The beginners guide to the WNBA……………………………………………..
Good you really say just 5'10?? Really

Yes an American citizen was prioritized over a Russian. Disgraceful. Listen to yourself
Yes an American was prioritized over a Russian. disgraceful. Listen to yourself
She was arrested for breaking foreign law in Russia😂 a bit different bro
Lmao I can tell you’re white
Pathetic embarrassment for the country
Ask anyone the name more than three WNBA teams and you’ll get more people that can’t then can. It’s unwatchable. Always has been and always will
times are changing billie!

At least you have the time to comment! Otherwise you're embarrassing
