  • Hermosa Beach is an iconic beach town located in Los Angeles County, California. It's known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and year-round warm weather. Hermosa Beach is the perfect place to live if you’re looking for a laid-back beach lifestyle with easy access to the larger cities of Los Angeles and Orange County. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars, shops, and activities to enjoy in the area, making it a very desirable place to live. The surf spots make it a great spot for beach sports, while the nightlife is perfect for those wanting to let loose and have fun.
The area now known as Hermosa Beach, California, was first inhabited by the Tongva Indians, who had villages near the present-day site of Hermosa Beach. The area was later explored by Spanish explorers in the late 18th century, who named the area El Rancho Sausal Redondo, or The Round Clump of Willows.
In the late 19th century, the area became a popular vacation spot for affluent Angelenos. In 1884, the first pier, named the Hermosa Beach Pier, was built. In 1900, the first post office opened, and in 1904, the Hermosa Beach Land and Water Company was formed.
In 1913, the City of Hermosa Beach was incorporated. The city's first mayor was John C. Tullius, who served until 1915. During the early 20th century, the city became a popular destination for Hollywood celebrities, including Charlie Chaplin, who built a mansion there in 1919.
In the 1940s, the city's beachfront began to attract a variety of businesses, including the first roller coaster on the West Coast. In the 1950s, Hermosa Beach experienced a real estate boom, and the population skyrocketed.
Hermosa Beach real estate is very expensive. The median home price in Hermosa Beach is currently $2,364,500, according to Zillow. This is more than double the median home price for California, which is currently $579,500.

Granted Hermosa Beach is an attractive, clean community with a lot of fun and cool things to see and do but the sad fact of the matter is that it is unaffordable for most working class people and everything is geared towards the affluent and successful folks. Is Hermosa Beach a friendly, welcoming place or is it an arrogant affluent urban enclave by the Pacific. Is homelessness a growing problem in Hermosa Beach like in all of the rest of Los Angeles County? It is one thing to be positive
