4:16 so happy to see people getting pulled over for not switching their lights on instead of just relying on the daytime runners without taillights on.
I rented a Ford Escape and the controls were identical to the Focus I had at the time. The Focus's lights came on automatically so when I got in the Escape after dark I didn't think about it. After turning onto a dark highway it seemed the lights weren't very bright, so I tried to turn on the high beams... which didn't work because the headlights weren't actually on.
That's why I got the wife a car with daytime running lights AND auto lights when it's dark or raining as she is new to driving and don't want her to forget to turn them on and just rely on the daytime running lights.
It's bad enough when auto manufacturers create confusion by having those road lights come on all the time (in any cases because it's required by law; otherwise they wouldn't bother) while other models are fully automatic based on daylight levels, but the idiots who sit inside a machine and haul their butt all over creation without even knowing how their vehicle even works are the absolute worst. I feel like people who continue to drive while playing with their stupid cellphone are now past any kind of grace period and should be charged with much more substantial penalties (because they're either oblivious and need a freaking wake-up call, or just don't care, which is worse), and people who drive with their lights off at night -barring some exceptional situation like a fuse just now this second blowing out- should have their license suspended until they pass a more stringent and focused driver's education course (that they pay for of course), than the one they obviously didn't attend or pay attention to before getting their first learner's permit. Can't even count how many times those no-light morons either came weaving through traffic or mooched around in the middle lane going 30mph BELOW everybody else.
Day time running lights confuse many people at night because the front headlights come on and so do the dashboard lights , if the dashboard lights stayed off more drivers would check the headlight switch (but only the smarter drivers ;)
In fairness to the idiots who drive at night with their daytime running lights, I think the problem is based on the fact that the instrument lights are on with the daytime running lights. So at night we see the instrument lights so we assume that the night time lights must be on. I have fallen into the trap too, so I leave my lights in the AUTO selection now.
Whenever I took my car in for service, they always turned the auto headlights off. When I'd pick the car up, I wouldn't notice until it got dark out. At least I would notice and turn them back on.
I don't understand how these people don't realize the road in front of them is not illuminated. Or when they stop behind another car, they don't notice that the reflection of your car on their trunk has no lights on?? Ticket deserved for lack of vigilance. What else don't they realize while they're driving a 4000 pound hunk of steel.
I’ve noticed that as well! Downside of these newer car models…. I always make it a habit of turning the light switch up when I get in the car to avoid this!
I do believe a law was passed to make the dash dark when the lights are off in newer cars now. Yes, I got pulled over too and got a warning for that too. I also look for the light icon that’s on the dash to be on telling me the headlights are on.
@@miketaggart3803 Have you tried looking out of your windshield onto the road? if its dark out and theres not enough light in front of your car it could be a clue...
It amazes seeing the stupid things people do when think the police aren't around. More than likely, these idiots probably drive like this every day until they're caught.
Check your lights at night/dawn/dusk. Just because some front lights maybe on doesn't mean the tail lights are on. I don't know why all cars are not setup to turn them all on once the sun has set.
Several possibilities. Might be a bus lane, or a ride-share lane (you can only use it if you have at least one passenger) or there are a few others too.
#18 is actually zipper.... it's a great way to avoid clustered bottle necks. Every should know this. Only reason why people don't do it is because kindness isn't on the agenda... even though this move is very encouraged for highway merging etc.
It’s a new law in CA that cops can no longer ask you how fast you were going so now they trick you into admitting guilt by asking, “Why were you driving so fast?”. That driver should’ve just stayed quiet because he instantly admitted to speeding.
Video #9 - While the cammer is applauding the police pulling over the speeder, he fails to neither slow down nor change lanes when passing the policeman on the side of the road. I am amazed by the number of cammers that are just as bad of drivers as those they are videoing.
Not all states have "Move Over" laws, and for those states that do, it's a fairly-recent thing. Not that it shouldn't be done anyway when conditions warrant - not only for the officer's safety, but for your own if the vehicle pulled over decides to make a run for it.
I wish more police would enforce people using cell phone. When I was young would see someone driving bad, and you would say that they must be drunk. Now you see someone who is driving bed and you say they must be on their phones. The police need to start to enforcing that law. I'm sure traffic accidents has increased significantly higher with distracted drivers opposed to drunk drivers.
He wasn't. Even sped up he took a while to overtake the semi before passing the cop and tanker. Some of those are governed from 66 to 75 at top speed. Likely the tanker that was running could only go so fast.
#9 is terrible. The cammer doesn't move over for the emergency vehicle, the cop drives on the shoulder but thank goodness we stopped this person travelling straight, going fast on a road designed to go fast.... The world is backwards.
@@ironbrutesrage he didn't show the part where the cop caught him. Cop said over 90 m/h (145 km/h). What you see is him trying to run by taking the exit 🙂 IMO

I don't know about the newer cars but every car I ever owned, if the lights were not on, neither would the dash lights be on. You would think that would be someone's first clue when they could not see anything on the instrument panel.
With the modern cars that have daylight driving lights, that come on automatically when the car is put into gear and digital instrument panels, the "dash" lights are on. While the daylight driving lights provide enough illumination that some people may think their lights are on they have no tail lights.
@@jamesduncan578 I can confirm. Most cars made within the past 10 years have either an always-backlit gauge cluster, or a backlit LCD monitor pretending to be a gauge cluster. These will light up when the headlights are off, leading drivers to believe they have "Auto-On" headlights. It was bad enough when people would drive only with DRL (daytime running lamps) but would figure it out when it got too dark to read their gauges, now with DRL and backlit gauge clusters there isn't that extra moment of realization. Some dashes now even turn on a little green light to indicate your headlights are on, which is backwards from the previous method of having a "DRL On" lamp when your headlights were off, leading to further confusion between models and years of cars. I prefer older cars for many reasons, but having a "dark" gauge cluster when my lights are off is one of the least-important reasons. 😃
3:12 - Speeding, probably. Like a maniac, no. Speed limit is 65 mph, if you're going exactly the speed limit I'd estimate his speed to be 75 mph or slightly less.
