If your going to tile your bathroom on plaster board STOP ✋ just take some time to watch and learn from Roger it's valuable information which will save you time and money in the long run I was about to tile my bathroom on plaster board but glad I watched this first I've since removed all the plaster board and replaced it with jackoboard which is similar to elements board ..Also buy the sealing kit which has all the tapes and waterproofing you need to complete the job.. It cost around £150 for mine, but it's well worth the extra not to have to do it all again.. So just like to say big thank you to Roger For helping me do things the right way first time... cheers mark 👍
Hi Mark, doing a similar job, but need help in buying the right tile adhesive. Bit of a minefield out there with a lot of adhesives not recommended for use with non-porous substrates.
I love your videos,I used to listen to you every Saturday on LBC when people phoned in with there DIY problems.Years ago. Great help for the People who do DIY. It's nice to see your still helping them thanks. Keep them coming..
I've just used this to rebuild the shower and bath areas in my bathroom after the plasterboard and tiles completely gave up (listen to Roger, he knows what he's on about!). It's a doddle to use, even easier than plasterboard. Highly recommended
Got a rough wall consisting of backing plaster, old tile adhesive and finishing plaster. Want to over board it with this board. What would I prime the walls with first before using the adhesive to stick to board to the wall?
On the wall where my shower is, I have had to take off the old flaking plasterboard, the tiles on top of it and the old crumbling plaster behind it. I'm now back to the 100 yr old original wooden slats in the partition wall, which are in good condition. If I screw / glue Elements board onto the slats, can you then screw the side of a shower enclosure into the board (on top of UPVC panels)? Is it strong enough to support this? Any special screws needed? Thanks. Great videos. Very helpful.
@roger - what tile adhesive can be used to tile onto elements board? There is a huge range and ive heard modified adhesive wont set properly. Thanks in advance.
Great video again Roger, I’ve just discovered that my bathroom doesn’t have wood studs it actually has metal stud work. Can you attach the elements board to the metal c stud? And if so what size would the screws need to be please? Thanks in advance
I've always screwed this stuff to studwork. Would Keraquick be a suitable substitute for KST Roger? Always seem to have an opened bag knocking around, nice if there was another use for it. Cheers for the content keep it going from strength to strength.
Hi mate, hope your well and thanks for the inspiration!! Just a quick question did you have stud/timber/noggin support around every board joint, do you need to? Hope that makes sense! How has it been since you put it in? Thanks again! Keep it up!
Yes you can skim plaster on the board. It does take longer to dry out than plastering on traditional plasterboard as the substrate is waterproof so residual moisture won't soak in like it would with traditional plasterboard.

Can you use this instead of plaster board? I am wondering if you can use this instead of insulation backed plaster board?
So I presume you can use insta stick & similar expanding foam adhesive on this to fix to a an interior wall ?
Can you attach these to over existing tiles to then tile over
What about fitting wall boards to per war brick houses it seems you always havestud or new block walls
Thank you. This was a very helpful presentation.

Hi there can you use these in a porch and then render over them ?
Can pu plasterboard foam adhesive be used to stick this to blockwork as well as mechanical fixings??
We would recommend using our Fix-KST adhesive and then mechanical fixings once it has dried. Hope this helps!
Hi, do you need any other fixings or just the tile adhesive when fitting these boards to a thermalite block wall?
Did you get a answer? I was thinking of adhesive then coarse screw straight into block work??
@@abfielding1903 I didn’t get an answer. I used adhesive and screws with rawl plugs in the end. It was really solid when dry. Hope this helps 👍

Can you really just plaster straight onto a cement based board with no issues like roger says?
