Really good and relevant tips re fish care and dealing with big fish. Well done Andy.
I'd got back into fishing a couple of years ago after a long break. It was by watching your videos, and completely changing tactics, that I now do very well in the warmer weather catching carp near the surface.

Any chance you could do the feeder challenge you did at baden hall on somewhere different such as Andy's lake drumble or even better arena at cudmore. It would be interesting to see how fish in different places react to the cage feeder for instance

Great vid, in a match situation would you have went up in elastic strength to get em in quicker or would that just produce hook pulls
Not really, they're just big and angry in there and with it being a relatively shallow lake, they'll run you around on any kit.
If you go to heavy and try and stop them you just end up, as you say pulling hooks or snapping stuff.
I do you keep accurate with your feeding? Im not to bad with the pole tip out there, but I've no chance of hitting the spot blind [without the pole tip to aim for]
and how long do you really need to go to fish shallow?

Have a far bank marker to aim for and then it’s just muscle memory and using the same catapult all the time. It’s never going to be quite as accurate when you’re not fishing it, but you can tighten it up when you’ve got the pole out.
Distance wise it depends if it’s a match. 13m is a good starting point but if you are in a match and everyone’s fishing further then you might need to go longer. But a pleasure session you could get away with fishing shorter and more comfortably.

Sorry for stupid question but could you explain what slapping is!? Are you slapping float into water or tip into water? Thanks
Slapping the rig into the water, so the pellet and float create a splash to imitate loose feed going in.
@@winningwaysbasics Thanks for that. Can I ask one more question please. When fishing a commercial for carp how do you know how far out to be starting off with please? Really struggle knowing how far or close in to go. Thanks

Have you done a bit about how you attach the rig without using Dacron m8 ?
Pretty much the same way, just with the line behind the knot in the elastic instead of the Dacron.
Pull the bead back, attach the line, pull bead back over the knot.
