Nice job, I noticed you still have the ESC BEC lead connected to the FC. It's suggested to remove the red ESC BEC wire from the FC due to conflicting voltages which can cause problems for the regulator. Otherwise, good luck on your maiden and happy flying!
Hi, as I’m still trying to learn from you kind experts could I please ask why the BEC would have use for that red wire if it causes voltage conflicts? Would it be used in a different way in another setup?
@@Double-D_291 yes disconnecting it when using a flight controller is recommended as it can be used to power rx and servos in older non FC setups. Exactly as madsloper said above
Ok thanks interesting I did maiden with 2s using the CG marks under the wings and takeoff was faultless. I did make an attempt to make it slightly nose heavy though.
@@Indonesia01ian Have you calibrated your esc? If throttle is working in iNav check the signal wire is correct on the esc. Issue may be somewhere there.
Totally nice plane to fly slow, I did the maiden with fullload including walksnail had setup and on 2s battery and it had no problem taking off and flying. Maiden video coming soon.
What port did you allocate for your elrs receiver? Theres no info anywhere that shows the uart locations. Wish youd have shown that vital initial part of the setup, its useless without transmitter and receiver communication.
Hey, great video mate. I'm trying to do the exact same assembly but I'm having issues with motor, just keeps beeping and does nothing else. Servos do work but the motor just doesn't, tried other motors and is the same, slow beep and if I change the esc from port it goes faster. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.😅
Thanks for the comment much appreciated. Sounds odd have you calibrated the esc? Sounds like the motor is fine as you have tried other motors problem may be with the esc. Just to note in this video i did have the 5v cable on the esc bec connected by mistake should only have signal and neg wire only as it can cause issues. Other than that it seems unusual but i would try look at changing esc to see if it helps.
I have the SpeedyBee F405 WING APP. Just working through connections issues. SpeedyBee App on my phone doesn’t connect. I’m wondering what you did to make it work? Also, I have a freshly formated, MS-DOS (FAT-32) 8GB in the slot. However, on the Blackbox tab, at the bottom, still shows RED Fatal error Reboot to retry. Should that change color? Thanks!
Regarding connection to the app the usb extender light should flash green. The 3 modes can be changed by holding the button down for 6seconds. Off the top of my head I believe green is what you want and there is purple and white and off (no light). If it’s green you should be able to connect your phone to it through the settings in the phone. And also the formatted sd card should work fine once installed into the flight controller it should be automatically pickup up maybe you need to toggle the black box switch in config.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve gone through that process a number of times, following the instructions included with my SpeedBee F405 WING. I’m unable to get a wireless connection. Most reports indicate the CG nubbins are too far back, by about 3 to 5 mm. A little nose down helps penetration, especially if using small battery.
@@PiDsPagePrototypes I have heard this too although when I check the CG it definitely flies best a little nose heavy indeed.
I found that the CG factory marks are Wrong. I used the servo wires as the CG and it works perfectly. Others had the same problem.

This plane is very light and should Only be flown in light wind. It's like a glider with a motor, beautiful glide but hard to land in a breeze.
