This song is from her 2001 album, VESPERTINE. The entire project is this type of atmospheric vibe that instantly makes you close ur eyes in order to fully absorb the experience. The album is regarded as her most Iconic and Successful projects ever. She implements Micro-Beats(sounds of ordinary, everyday Objects) in2 the production. 2nd verse of Pagan Poetry starts with , Morse Coded Signals (whilst Morse code is layered in the background beat. The song , along with the Album was her acceptance of a new love relationship with a good longtime friend and her hesitation to give in and commit due to her last relationship ending in divorce and her apprehension to open her heart and trust.
Song is incredible. Pure passion at the end. In my opinion, it's an extremely deep song about mind control (mk ultra) or for people that can't grasp that, it's a song about being super dikmatized
Bjork is amazing for the most part, but she's an artist that takes time to appreciate. You really need an open mind musically and to leave your expectations at the door when going into most of her albums, and admittedly when I first heard her music I thought it was pretentious nonsense. Personally I always find artists and music like this the most rewarding, because the ones that take time to appreciate are the ones that end up sticking with you.
I agree that many of her songs and their accompanying videos pair well together. However I wouldn't say that this song is nothing without the video. The song is great in its own with its lovely production.
@@abhitron In this video you see the pain and hurt in her facial expressions. And I think the beginning of the video adds to the mystery trying to figure out what you are watching. Just saying she and the producers often put as much effort to tell the story and get the emotions that she does when she and they write and produce the songs. For me, the audio and visual goes hand in hand with her songs.
I couldn't disagree more. "This song is nothing without the video" - seriously?? I loved this song for two decades before I ever saw the video. I mean the video *is* quite something, but to suggest that the song is worthless without it is a gross insult to Björk's genius.
@@TheoZoffrok hey idiot. I don't recall using the word "worthless". And if stupid morons like you can have your opinion, Why can't smart people like me have my opinion. But I'm capable of watching a video and listening to a song at the same time.. so shut THeZoffruk up.
@@TheoZoffrok no anger issues here. Just responding to a liar who puts words in people's posts and insults their views. I'm used to people like you. Thought I was allowed to respond. Guess you're apposed to that type of thing also.

That video of her talking about a TV is absolutely adorable. I could listen to her talk all day. I could also listen to her music all day.
Happy to be one of the people who understands her music, really, wish more did because it's so good...
Same. Took me a while for Bjork to click with me, but once her music did click I can't get enough of it.

You need the video. This song is nothing without the video. Like Most of her songs, it's half audio half visual, to get the full experience..
