Hi, I got a lot from your way of explaining this feature. I knew about extensions, but your information was very helpful in putting it in a more concurrent formate. One of my favorite extensions is the Google Dictionary. I can highlight a word to get a definition of the word. I write and read a lot, so it is a good extension for me. I really enjoy your videos. They help organize, inform, expand usability of your topic. You are the first resource I go to if I am stuck on something. An example is the web clipper. I learned how to clip, but then I would lose it in Evernote. Also, Lastpass, I get lost on how to use the many features that it has. So thank you again for your time and energy to inform others. Bless you ;-)
Thank u. I understand so little about the internet, I didn't really even know anything about browser ad ons at all, I barely knew what they were. So I really needed something like this.
If you aren't using extensions you're missing out on the best possible web experience. Steve from dottotech shows you exactly how to get these handy helpers installed. My three favorites? Evernote web Clippper, ***** and Adblock Plus 01:49 Evernote Web Clipper Extension (I too use this one ALL the time) 02:31 How do you add them? 02:49 Chrome for Mac and Extensions (on Windows, Menu->Settings->Extensions) 06:28 Safari and Extensions 08:16 Firefox and Extensions 09:35 Turning off Extensions your are not using will help speed up your computer Enjoy!
I just watch your video on extensions and I have a question about extensions. I came across an extension that performs the task that would be useful to me. Right, before downloaded it says that by downloading it you're agreeing to their terms conditions. So I looked at their terms and conditions and one of the things you're agreeing to is that they will send you emails and push notifications for other products that they have. Of course, this feels concerning because I don't need to receive any more marketing material that I already am. After watching your video my question is: Since I can go into my browser and turn the extension on an off will it also turn off the push notifications and other stuff associated with their user agreement? Thanks for your thoughts.
As far as I understand, the "Apps" on the chrome store are not android apps. They don't seem to work on android phones or tablets, and I can't use them on the chrome app on my mobile devices. They only work on the chrome web browser. They're actually quite interesting on their own. I use them as shortcuts to the apps that I use the most online. For example, the sunrise chrome app opens up a simple browser window, but trello opens directly on my trello account on a web page rather than a separate window.
Angelix666 I am going to have to spend some more time with them, I assumed they were the same as in the Play store, Thanks so much for putting me straight!
Thanks Steve O'. I finally gave in and have been playing around with Evernote and with this demo learned about web clipper. Had been using Pocket but this will work better for me.
pez I'm not sure what Steve thinks, but am happy to say that I thought that ***** handled it beautifully. They informed all users right away, put up a page that explained what happened and what to do about it. I am still using LastPass, albeit with a new master password and still believe the benefits of having unique strong passwords on all my sites and for all my accounts is much better than my old system and much more secure.
pez If anything it increased my confidence, they identified an attack, it is niave to think that ALL security services will not be attacked. They did a great job informing us, and dealing with it. Full points to *****
Yep, I download it about week ago and trying to implement an automated systems for my mundane tasks. I just wanted to have your opinion on it. Because you does such a great job on the other apps such as IFTTT & Todoist.
