So they're in a death spiral of making more profitable cars because quarterly inflation is stripping the value of said profits. Hence why the smallest and most affordable cars don't exist anymore.

you probably dont. it is a tough and unexpected route. to start with, will you accept work 11+ hours for 10 years without ot pay? will you accept overseas assignment on your own without family without premium for 11month every year for.5years? will you mind called to duty 24-7? they are so many things and uncertainty you need to go through in order to.have an opportunity.

The technology in this video is amazing it's just a shame that the remote parking will be probably be limited by legislation in my country. I've been praying that someone would bring a hydropneumatic suspension to a modern EV. It makes so much more sense than air suspension. I wish all cars came with it!

This is very natural. After all, both BYD and DJI are headquartered in Shenzhen. If the bosses get together for a meal, the problem can be easily resolved.
One of the things I love about Chinese car design is, they are willing to try anything. One of the things I don’t like, however, is they sometimes don’t know when to stop. Many of these new cars have enough design features and elements for two or three cars, but they cram them all into one. It’s a bit of a mishmash and can detract from a single coherent look.
In addition, I think German and Japanese cars are overpriced, and new competition is good for consumers. After all, they will always lower their prices.

I don't think traction would be an issue. It is a variation of its tank turn capability, where the wheels are all spinning at different direction and speeds to maneuver the car into that space. Less traction might even be a good thing since it would save on tire wear.
If that’s the case the front wheel could spin backwards to compensate for the loss of traction. Totally doable. Assuming the control system is actually assessing the traction and torque real time and not just running a preset configuration.
@KitKitChanIsaac I don't know where you got your logic from because CO2 emissions from fossil fuels are ~35 billion tons per year vs. ~1.5 million tons derived from lithium/cobalt mining per year. BYD seriously needs to look at the reality that not every truck needs to be F150 sized. Light duty pick ups and "Utes" are the ideal option for EVs that can also be made affordably.
Utes and pickups aren't popular in China due to the rain and licensing laws. Pickups can only be licenced as commercial vehicles but the preferred light commercial vehicle is a van, which BYD has one in the line. The U8 is their top of the line Rangerover class premium SUV, they have smaller ones all the way down to the Atto3. It's just that they don't sell those outside China.

What would impress me right now is a split modular and easy to repair battery ie a battery made up of 8 modules that click together like lego. Right now, if a few cells fail, you have to take out the whole battery. Then you have the wonderful option of spending $12k either replacing the whole battery or $5k for someone to spend a lot of time replacing a few cells that cost $200.
BYD Blade batteries are good for well over a million kms before suffering degradation so not really worth considering. Batteries are getting cheaper and lighter all the time

I feel like BYD would benefit from having a UX person vetting their ideas. The hand-sensor also seems slow at processing and unlocking your car. How is this advantageous over a wireless key fob you can open from a distance? In times of a rush, waiting for it to register your hand seems like it takes ages. Do they have plans on making this faster? I would like to see it immediately unlock as soon as your hand reaches for the door handle or however it opens. That would be very cool and useful.

It’s 3460kg, so incredibly heavy, but I’ve driven it at this point and I can tell you that it just drives like a really big SUV.
