Thanks Tom. Not that experienced with chopping, but just had a nice evening following this video and trying it out for myself. I re-sampled a couple of bars of a track I'd been working on and chopped that to create a completely different vibe.
As always, great video. I prefer the convert to slices method. However the tip on setting the pad to "pad" instead of all is a real good one. Btw, my uncle's name is Tom 🤪
Great video as usual. I got that converting app. It doesn't work properly. I get error every time it tries to create instrument keygroups. Did you have any problems with it?
Good question! - switching off ‘link’ (sample settings) has a similar effect, except for initial state and polyphony, if working from automatically chopped kit. Like many things on this machine; there’s more than one way to get a similar result. Personally, I prefer to get my mute groups locked in, just in case I start tuning for ‘blends’ or modding.
Thanks for video & stop feeling bad for making long videos - This is your channel!!!
Peace

Good work ❤
Thanks nice things! I’m pretty new to sample chopping work flow and found this really helpful.
Thanks Tom, ive been meaning to catch up on this one all last week.

I’ve only used it for kits, so can’t how that works. You can contact the maker on the gearslutz forum, his tag is Oscar1
@@nicethings Thanks for reply.
There are Start and Loop fields in Pad Edit screen which are always same. Can they be different?
Not sure what you mean?
Isn‘t the effect explained from 12:30 accesable by simply choosing >unlink slices< or is there some other advantage i do not see?

There's drum synth update. Just to let you know in case you missed it ;)
Leťs make something in-depth about keygroups...
Not really interested in keygroups. Only worth using if you have some old stuff already, in my opinion.
@@nicethings its quite similar to drumgroups actually. Thanks for these deep tutorials!
