Real-life skills...use what you have. I could probably feed myself and my hubs for about a month on the food that we have in the house. Thanks for the inspiration. Gotta take inventory and get busy planning menus. What a great way to start a new year. I will need to track meals for WW Purple tracking as well.
Funny you say that, Gabrielle, because I thought of that as I was rewatching this footage during editing! That might be why I bought that Italian dressing to begin with, during grilling season! :)
@@SeeMindyMom Italian dressing over onions, peppers, mushrooms (any veggie really!) and chicken in the oven makes a really yummy and easy dish too if its too cold to grill! We grew up eating it over rice and loved it.
I love seeing these pantry/fridge/freezer challenges! I also love how you gave a quick glance of what your fridge looked like afterwards! That’s gotta be so satisfying see the excess dwindle down! You gave some great ideas that I will be using! Thanks for this video!
Your creativity blows me away! I think I’ll start sending you a list of stuff I have to get rid of and you can tell me what to do with it! Lol. Thanks, Mindy. Another great video.
we have several months of food in the pantry/freezer - we can a lot of stuff :) I would say approx. 7-9 months worth - I enjoy seeing what others have and what they make with it.
Thank you for sharing this! I love these kinds of challenges, because it's a reminder to me that I DO have plenty of meals in my house, I just have to get creative and think outside of my normal go-to's.
So I know it was a struggle not having your oven, but having those alternatives was great for me and my mom! Our oven has been broken for a while and it’s just not something we can afford to fix, so having your videos has been a life saver for us. Thank you so much!❤❤
I love doing the mock KFC bowls. One of my favorite meals. The gravy is actually REALLY good on it. But I use the jarred gravy because I can't be bothered to even do the packet...lol
This is great! I'm going to be visiting my siblings and their families in June. We will have 16 people to feed. I'm happy to have an inexpensive idea for that. Thank you! 😊
I have been watching your videos for a little bit now. I just subscribed. I absolutely love love your videos! I don't even remember how I found you but I am seriously so glad I did.
I'm so glad, Kaitlin! It takes a little extra work and creativity for me, but it's always rewarding when I see my fridge and pantry all neat and cleaned out!
Thank you for this video, we need to do this for our household, we have two fridges and freezers, and four book shelves full of foods that need to be gone thru.
I'm so glad this vid popped into my feed today because I have two cartons of onion/chive cream cheese in the fridge that I snagged on a great BOGO/coupon deal, as well as a bunch of tortellini in the freezer - def making this tomorrow, thanks!!
You have more food available than I have after a luxury grocery shopping trip. You are so blessed to be able to see this as getting by. Way to go creating a more abundant lifestyle.
Love these videos! We do pantry/fridge/freezer clear outs several times a year. It lets us rotate items from our "emergency pantry" into our main pantry to ensure everything is used before it expires. We can usually skip a few weeks of shopping this way....there are only 3 of us which helps!
You inspired me to not cave before my grocery trip tomorrow and go to the drive thru. I made Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans. It was a hit. Those frozen meatballs really come in handy.
OMGoodness such a great realization video! I usually stock up on canned goods & pantry staples so I don’t have to go grocery shopping often. This is a great video of ‘shelf cooking’. Thanks again for sharing!
Thanks, Billie! Shelf Cooking! That's the term I should have used! I was trying to think of it, it was in the back of my head...I kept thinking "pantry cooking". :)
If you have a little bit of rice cereal leftover Like Rice Krispies or rice Chex it works great mixed with flour as a coating for chicken or fish or sweet potato fries. My husband gets kind of weird with cereal and sometimes he just can't finish the box of something like that and it keeps things very crispy when you use it as a breading. I powder it up in the food processor
Thanks, Bernadette! I understand...I get an odd satisfaction from using an entire container or package and then seeing our pantry and fridge nice and clean!
You know...I get that a lot! 😂 I have watched her for about a year and a half now, since she had around 15K subscribers, I think. So I take it as high praise! 😊

This was so awesome! Thank you. I love pantry videos, I try to do this at home a lot. I was lost on another days meal to complete my meal plan for this week and your KFC bowls are going to be perfect! Thank you.
For the barley make it into soup ... my kids are picky eaters but the love barley soup with lamb meat and chopped carrots and green bean ... They cook for a long time ... about two hours ...
Salad dressings make great marinades for chicken. Cutting marinated chicken breasts into strips will still be frugal - I don't care for shredded meat myself we did not have it growing up although we were poor Mom did a great job feeding us with what $ she had. Mashed Potatos are so frugal and can be stretched love them. I also have never used Cream Cheese in soups but since both you & Frugal Fit Mom use it I will have to try it as well Barley is something I have never used but loved Scotch Broth Soup as a kid
Oil based salad dressing is great for marinating meat , I use salad dressing un pasta salads which you could beef in with sausage , cheese, olives, veggies ect . Macaroni and cheese would be good, the soft cheese should melt up nicely.
I like salad but can only eat it like a full week out of the month. The other weeks I have to eat other stuff. I am only one person so buying a tub of salad mix lasts like 5 days or so of lunches
Erin, I do that all the time when there's a holiday or company coming. That's a good time to do one of these, too. I'll probably do another one right after Christmas.
With the current state of supply chain issues, do you have plans to start filling your pantry with some extra food? I have started buying a few extra things each week to hopefully fill my pantry. I will use it in rotation so nothing expires. I’m also buying items that work for emergency meals, like you have shared a few times now.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! My oven broke right before Thanksgiving last year!! I don't usually host Thanksgiving, my sister in law does. But she lives less than 5 minutes away so I usually will go over the night before to help prep and deliver the turkey. My hubby and his buddy raise turkeys so we keep it until the night before.) Then I come home with a lot of stuff to store in my fridge. Then on T-Day I will help bake some stuff in my oven but couldn't last year! Now this year there's no one really coming so no big ta-do this time! Hope it's an easy fix!! Enjoy your mini trip!! 💜💚
While I like the idea of the reduced cleaning time with crock pot liners, I refuse to use them because they just end up in landfills. I’m slowly replacing most of our single-use items with reusable.
Frozen vegetables are great value for your money. They're usually flash frozen when absolutely fresh, so it's the same rich vitamins and stuff that fresh veggies have. So yeah, you could still make it one or two days more and not sacrifice health.
For that soup with the pasta, ground beef, beans, and tomato soup how long did you cook it in the slow cooker and at what temp? :) I feel like I learn so much from your videos about making meals on the fly.
Impressive! You are such a creative cook. Have you always had a knack for putting meals together? I love cooking and spend lots of time in the kitchen, but I’m still very dependent on recipes. I need some confidence to branch out and try some things on my own. Happy Thanksgiving!
Andrea, definitely not! It's just something I've picked up over the years and as I've tried to get better about using stuff up as much as possible and minimizing waste. Happy Thanksgiving!
In the kitchen, perhaps. But my sisters are super duper crafty, and that's where my creativity tanks! LOL! So I'll just stick to the use-it-up meal prep! :)

Clothespin bag clips FTW!! Exactly what I use too, LOL
Me too but I really like using office binder clips
