@InnaGottaDavida God I hope not because I literally did a CinemaSins Style video for the video game High on Life and the whole idea behind it was to basically cosplay them so I quite genuinely stole several of their running jokes. Like "kids" and "apples = ahholes" and "college girlfriend". And I say they because CinemaSins is a team. It's not just Jeremy. There's a good chance Aaron or Chris actually wrote that joke
Propeller guy in Titanic. It’s when he hits it and you hear the ping that makes it so much better. Also the cannonball taking off the guys head in the Patriot
I remember flipping channels and getting to this scene where he’s locked in this thing? Then his daughter watches him gets murdered? Never really knew what was happening and it’s the only scene I saw.
THE funniest death scene ever: in Karate Girl (1973), where a guy gets shot in a bedroom repeatedly, in slo-mo, and keeps wailing and wailing and just won't d*e until forever later.
Don’t agree with the criticism of #10. On most movies, if a character falls to their death, the camerawork just sort of has them disappear, or the camera cuts away to a distant shot - almost as if to give the character a little privacy from the audience. The audience rarely sees the character go “splat”. Vertical limit defied that, and it was shockingly brutal.
I agree. I remember watching that opening sequence and being baffled by the cut to the beautiful scenery - only to see the father land a few moments later. Even though I knew it was coming, that death still managed to shock me. (In a good way!)
I agree, but as a rock climber I think it’s funny because there was no reason to cut the rope. If the cam (gear in the wall) could hold the 5 people and the force of the fall it would hold everyone else. But with that being said it is still a scary scene
So you think a dr who’s never held a gun before, panics, slips and shoot’s himself is totally implausible? Unlikely maybe, but it’s a very real possibility. As for Vertical Limit goes, I think the way he shot it conveyed the shock of someone you love dying better than a slow motion fall against a green screen. Because that’s probably the way they would have done it had they not opted for this.
Was waiting for the Titanic Propeller guy to appear and wasnt disapointed! xD Another mention I would personally add to this would be when the Kid in Final Destination 2 (Tim Carpenter) is killed by the falling plane of glass, though the whole movie series kinda leans into the sheer ridiculousness of the whole plot, I have to say - that scene took the cake
The ironic thing about Dr. Fassbach's death is that when Jerry runs over to him, he too has his finger on the trigger even though he's not ready to shoot at anything either, failing to take his own advice
I admit as well that the beggining scene from Vertical Limit was unintentionally hilarious but also I can't look at that scene without feeling uneasy as well since I have a little panic of heights and the feeling of plummeting into from a high place is just horrible.
Man, I remember that Vertical Limit "flop" when he hits the dirt right in front of the camera. I did roar with laughter. Oh my God it was funny. Thank God the theater was mostly empty.
A little story for you about that opening scene of "Vertical Limit." When I and my siblings went to watch "Vertical Limit" on opening weekend, the film started, and the sound and picture were not in sync with each other. The whole theater was getting more and more irate, yelling at the projection booth, because the character's mouths would move, and the voices would come several seconds later. Then the scene comes where the climbers fall, the whole family drama plays out, and then on screen... the father hits the ground, then... wait for it... the sound of the father hitting the ground finally came. Whatever that first viewing was like for the rest of you watching that scene, I'll never know. For us, it was so comical that the whole theater broke out in laughter. 😂
You missed the ultimate one. Titanic when the people bounce off the propeller and it makes that awesome *BONG* sound... I was in hysterics and got a TON of dirty looks in the theater
To be fair, Paolo's death was a callback to another equally hilarious death scene in the original Omen. In this case, it was probably at least partially intentional.
MI: Ghost Protocol. Nuclear Physicist Villain at the end takes a header off an automated car park to thwart Ethan from disarming the bomb. Just crazy comedic timing.
Who can forget the original Death Race 2000 when the fisherman makes the mistake of calling Sylvester Stallone's character Mr. Frankenstein and the ensuing race car running him down while navigating a stream to do it...the burn-out on him was funny though.
I don’t know if anyone else will agree, but the death there occurs just before Kill’s title flashes on the screen was hilarious to me. It’s supposed to be a serious death, but it’s so over the top and over dramatic I almost fell out of my chair in the cinemas from laughing so much.
Executive Decision...Steven Segal dies out of nowhere...Not sure it's hilarious but easily his best acting ever (And still pretty funny overall for meta reasons)
I have to disagree with this entry on nightmare on elm Street😂 the fact that the mom's body stiffens up and unnaturally and confesses that little window in the door as to the surrealness of a very screwed up nightmare
Tom Cruise getting blasted in Valkyrie is pretty funny. Phillip Seymour Hoffman blazing in the wheelchair cruising down the street in Red Dragon is hilarious.
I just saw The First Omen last week and it was much better than it had any right to be, or even needed to be. I found Paolo's death to be awkward and a bit confusing, but not quite so bad it's comedy. Either way, it's too bad because that was a tense moment that just fizzled out.
I'm fairly certain that the "Nightmare" scene was taking place in the Dreamworld, hence it's heightened unreality. But- hey- whatever. Good list though.
Saw The Purge in theatres and i was definitely the freak when i burst out laughing at the upwards Ethan Hawk shotgun blast on the girl to send her back up onto the pool table. Only person to laugh. Still a classic d
I've avoided the live version because mufasa's death scene makes me cry in the cartoon every time. And then they had to show my parts of it in this video 😭
Don't know why they couldn't have just ended NOES when Nancy's mom gets grabbed rather than show that awful fake shot of her body. They could have just cut to black and it would have worked.
Thank you for this list. In a room full of girls at a boarding school, I was the only one who packed out laughing (hard) at the propeller guy in Titanic. It moved me to roll on the floor laughing as I was called a monster. Dark humour wasn't a thing.....
This list is incomplete without the movie Hereditary. Charlie's death was HYSTERICALLY bad. Sticking her head out the window and seeing that pole come on with a loud "BONK!" could not have been more hilariously slapstick if you'd cast Leslie Nielsen in the role. It was so bizarrely looney tunes for such an otherwise serious movie.
Had to give a thumbs down as I disagreed with their definition of “hilarious” as most of the suggestions were more examples of poorly shot / written deaths
THE funniest death scene ever: in Karate Girl (1973), where a guy gets shot in a bedroom repeatedly, in slo-mo, and keeps wailing and wailing and just won't d*e until forever later.
Shadowfax...
there's no way these aren't intentional at this point. There's always at least one per list.
@@SomewhatSlightlyBored she's trolling us! 😱
Also it wasn’t the death of Faramir that caused this.

"The Prometheus School Of Running Away From Things" - I LOVE that reference!
Agree, I love hearing Jeremy's term catch on :)

That one and the stormtroopers school of shooting.
Marion Cotillard's death in The Dark Knight Rises, hello?
Brad Pitt's Death in "Meet Joe Black" should've been on the list lol
Haha absolutely
I agree
This
Oh yes, some definite rag doll physics going on with his death.
First time I saw that movie, I laughed.
Propeller guy in Titanic. It’s when he hits it and you hear the ping that makes it so much better. Also the cannonball taking off the guys head in the Patriot
Good addition with propeller guy. That *ping* makes me laugh every time
Yes! The Titanic one makes me giggle every time
How is Marion Cotillard's Talia al Ghul from Dark Knight Rises not number 1 on this list?
Nicholas Cage from the Wicker Man should've been no.1 as his screams while being ablazed is hilarious

Absolutely!!!

I haven't seen some of these movies, so I didn't initially know who was going to die. Lol, then I saw Sean Bean. Enough said! 😂

Braveheart; when King Longshanks throws Prince Edward’s lover, Philip out the window.
I think that’s intended to be shocking and funny, though.

The dad falling and hitting the ground during a calming setting scene was absolutely hilarious! 😂😂😂
Of course when discussing death scenes Sean Bean would make the list
Man, I remember that Vertical Limit "flop" when he hits the dirt right in front of the camera. I did roar with laughter. Oh my God it was funny. Thank God the theater was mostly empty.

The tonal consistency isn't the problem with Burton's death, there should be NO speech at all. Bro got blown sky high! He ain't speaking after that!
Yeah, the physicality is the most non-believable part. Not the giant alien shapeshifting robot
A Nightmare on Elm Street was intentional. It was supposed to be strange and unreal because it was a dream.
I don’t know if anyone else will agree, but the death there occurs just before Kill’s title flashes on the screen was hilarious to me. It’s supposed to be a serious death, but it’s so over the top and over dramatic I almost fell out of my chair in the cinemas from laughing so much.

Most of the deaths from Final Destination. Not the deaths themselves, but the predictability of them.
