Shower caps!! 🤣What a great hack / idea. And another excellent video with gorgeous shots. This was a good wake-up call for me too...I think I've been so focused on nice weather outings (getting great sunrise / sunset light in the sky, etc.) that I didn't stop to think about the drama in bad weather. As a skier I can relate to it immediately too -- I've always loved snowy days on the hill because I know so many people won't brave the weather, so I can ski fresh snow with almost no crowds. Not sure why I never connected that to fantastic landscape images before!

Nigel you are the only landscape photographer on RUclips I follow that consistently produces incredible images. Lots of RUclipsrs are just relying on gear videos or great video production of amazing locations only to come home with average images. I still enjoy their videos of course but as I love photography and don’t video/RUclips I always feel whilst those videos are fun they aren’t that inspiring to me. Your work has always been an inspiration so thanks so much for the great content - your video work is epic as well by the way but I respect you even more for not sacrificing your photography! I wish you focused more on you and your journey rather then the “10tips to improve XYZ approach” but that’s just me :) Keep up the amazing work and thanks again!

Great timing from my point of view. On Thursday evening I fought my way through a squall to get to the headland overlooking Godrevy and after finally getting the camera out of the bag I got one of my favourite shots of the whole year. The light over St Ives beneath ominous black clouds was totally epic. Getting out there and embracing those hellish conditions definitely brings the most dramatic images 😁

Such a great video and conversation! Getting out there in the “bad” conditions can get you the best photographs and you also get a memorable experience of Mother Nature and the adventure, which is really my favorite part. As you are talking about being out the rain while shooting, what is the best way to edit the occasional rain drop that was on your lense out of your image? Thanks again for sharing these experiences. I sure can’t wait to be able to travel from the states over to Northern Europe!

"Nikons are tough." Absolutely. I actually managed to dunk mine (a hoary but reliable ol' brick of a D90) completely in seawater (along with most of myself). It was only under for a second or two and I yanked it back up before trying to yank myself back up. Don't try this at home (assuming you have seawater in your home). But amazingly, after drying it off as best I could in the field, and giving it a good freshwater wipedown once I got home, it still functions as if it never took that unexpected dip in the Mediterranean. I still have the scars from how I landed on the rocks in the water, but my D90 still looks new. And a little cleaner than it was.
