I use a JK KBP 3D 7.6 and EU 3A 6.8 on my Wessex British F (13" bell .69 to .73 bore) for pretty much this same sort of idea. It works, though I do wish the bore was a bit smaller. My biggest problem is keeping the partials straight above the bass staff. I'm more accurate on my euphonium.
Just double the thickness of the brass on the horn and you're in business. Seriously, this thing might as well be 100% rose brass. There's no getting any of these dents out.
It would be a waste of money, and your boat anchor might form a detectable gravity well, but you wouldn't have to fail an audition for not being able to play a few notes. That's almost a win.
I played on a similar horn in a party band. It's a Westminster Eb by Besson. It plays pretty well, and yeah.... That third valve slide is HELLA long.
