This was the first act of "Broadway Legends: Carol & Chita" at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA. The show ran from June 30 to July 19, 1997. The first act was Carol's, the second act belonged to Chita. Fred Edd directed and wrote the show.
What a character. She lived to perform. She was only 76 here and went on to live until 15 days before her 98th birthday! Not many people acknowledge her African-American heritage.
Unfortunately, her husband gambled away her fortune and she only found out when she was getting her finances in order, for her retirement. At which time she only had less than a thousand dollars in cash, so she decided to go back to work and went on the road with shows like this one. It was a very sad case because, she loved her husband. Then at 97 years of age she had earned enough money for a modest retirement plan and she didn't get to it.

She had African American in her? I would've never known.
@@DeplorableJaredBrodersenyes, her father was black and she passed as white. Her autobiography is fascinating.
Alan thank you so much! This is what I have been waiting for, what a delight. If Carol doesn't cheer you up nothing else does.
