However, another singing star, Leslie Uggams, was a bit more relaxago ed as she walked towards the entrance of Bashford's new clothing store. If my memory serves me rightly, after all, this was long in San Francisco the night Mary Martin's dear friend, Janet Gaynor, was killed in an cab, Uggams sang Angela Lansbury's "If he walked into his life." You can literally call Wilkes the Noel Coward of clothing store owners. A fabulous human being.
