- Six Delaware Lackwanna Alcos depart Scranton, Pa with a lenthy grain train. Turn the sound up for this one!! I created this video with the RUclips Video Editor ( / editor . Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!!
they must have an enormous fuel bill they always use 5 or 6 alcos on every train
I like EMD's more than ALCo's but I had to watch this a few times in a row. Great volcanic chugging action. Super good capture.
Man does that sound good!! Great catch!!
Thanks!!
WOW. Amazing Alco action. I don't think I've ever actually seen (in person) an Alco in revenue service other than the one old S2 switcher a river terminal around here has. Those old beasts sure were built to last.
As you said, definitely built to last. The Delaware Lackawanna has a fleet of over 30 of the beast. Their shop forces do an amazing restoring and maintaining the locomotives in their modest 2 stall engine house. Thanks for watching and commenting! Bernie
3:50 I never turn my back on approaching cars when I'm standing that close to the tracks...but that's just me. 5:21 some artful graffiti.
Some of the graffiti is truely beautiful artwork. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That trailing cab is going to be so filthy by the time they get where they're going...
Lol. It sure will. It will be covered in Alco snot!
Vídeo espetacular demais amigo parabéns like garantido 👏💯
Why did some locomotives have green and also white lights above the numbers?
nice video
Thanks for watching!
this is a wonderful video! now i want to watch the others! there were a few CP SOO hoppers in there, i am looking for recent footage of #116537, some of the ones were so close, but not it! now i want to see if its in another vid of yours ;)
Thanks Tony!! I am happy you enjoyed it!
grammar nazis are not appreciated
Great footage. Thank you!
Does he need 6 locomotives to pull that train up the mountain? I still have a hard time getting accustomed to freights with no caboose on the end. Great video. It was like standing track side and watching it go by. Thanks for posting.
Not sure if 6 Locomotives are needed. They may be picking up additional cars along the way and I am not sure how long the return train was. Thanks for watching and commenting! Bernie
I've been told they put extra motive power on their trains in case a locomotive conks out. That could be true judging by the age of their equipment.
no it just takes 6 alcos to do what 3.5 emd s will pull.
not really it would take 1 big boy to do what all the diesels could do
Michael Wood that isn’t exactly true but ok
many ALCO more power more chugging more smoking. nice video
Thank you!
Not really Tier 4, LOL. But then the new locos sound like nothing
Agreed! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great sound and video. These sound the the GE U26C we got here in New Zealand back in the early 1970s before they got a half life upgrade.
Love the sound of a hard working ALCO. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What sort of horsepower are they??
@@paulwarner5395 The Century series had horsepower ratings between 2000 and 3600, not sure which all ones these are.
Remember when Conrail first started up Big Alcos from most of the railroads that folded into CR would show up on freight trains running thru Fort Wayne Ind. The show didn't last more than afew months as the units were retired or re-assigned quickly.
Great video! Enjoy before they ban the internal combustion engine.
This is a great video, the fun starts at 2:17. I put on my best headsets, boy is this good or what?!
Cool thanks mate
So nice.
Great video !
Thank you!!
You're welcome :)
This is the video {without checking out your other videos} that made me subscribe. Have a soft spot for Alco's. Hell of a catch.

Thanks for watching and commenting!
An Alco clag show
Thanks for Watching!
Great sound
it would have been funny if you put 4014 in the lead and he would pull the whole train by himself
That would be amazing!!
thanks
very cool shot
Thanks!
how often do trains run in Scranton? going there this coming Sunday
Steamtown is the hub of activity in Scranton. You won't see much Freight activity on a Sunday, but I believe Steamtown will be operating an excursion and their Nay Aug Limited. The Trolley Museum should also be running their trips to Montage Mountain. Hope this helps!
thank you!
Awesome ALCos and a cool train!
That wobbly camera is distracting...
Thanks!! Sorry for the wobbly camera. I did not have a tripod with me and my arms became tired holding the camera, it took them forever to depart.
