Now THAT is a vessel walk through. Magnificent job by someone who obviously knows and cares about her. Thank you!
Very kind, thank you..
Quite possibly the finest example of one the most beautiful yachts ever produced. Excellent presentation.
Thanks Captain!
This is the best walkthrough I’ve ever seen. Saw someone complain about the interior. I love the dated interior. I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I hate seeing a classic yacht like this with updates that don’t make sense. This yacht has been perfectly maintained and updated. Well done!
Thanks so much!
what a great boat ! maybe the finest maintained one out there
Thanks very much, we have tried to keep her up. She has been incredibly reliable.
This beauty has been very well maintained. It would be a pleasure to own this yacht. Very detailed presentation. Thanks for providing some material to keep fueling the dream.
Very kind of you to say...
This is truly a nice boat. Great video description.
Thanks! The end of an era...
This was a fantastic Vidios, we have just bought a hatteras 52 boat with 730 rubies engines over seas shame we do not have as much access as you guys to parts 🤔 hey ho your very lucky guys stay safe 😂
thanks all best!
Amazingly detailed video, well done.
Thanks, I didn't mean it to run so long but....
Just a jaw dropping classic beauty with nothing needed but a new captain. I wonder what speed the sweet spot is for range and overall comfort?
just over 10 knots is about 1 NMPG, likely 900 miles?
This was an outstanding presentation for a beautiful properly maintained yacht. Respect to you Captain.
Very kind, thanks.
I have a 45, but I have long admired the 61. What is the hull layup? Looking at the weight it seems some part of it must be cored. Balsa? Excellent video btw.
she's 84,000 lbs. solid below the waterline with foam about 6 inches above WL. Thank you
WOW! She is a fast boat! Just over 1,000 gal fuel tanks. What range at 10.5 kts? San Diego to Hawaii is 2600 miles.
I'd say about 900 miles at 10.5kts. Vancouver to Santa Barbara easy.
A very nicely kept and used boat. I suspect far better than new. Thank you it was a real pleasure listening to this thoughtful presentation. Huum...77 gal per hours...yikes LOL.
All the best
Thank you! She is usually about 1 mile per gallon at 10 knots which is a sensible speed...
I really love the vessel! Impeccable maintenance. Excellent job, sir! 👌
Just out of curiosity if I could ask: I was surprised to see the Vacu-Flush heads. What motivated you to choose that system? EDIT: nvm, I just researched it. Seems they've come a very long way in the past several years. It was about 15 years ago when I was researching head replacement systems. At that time, the freshwater, electric macerator ("quiet flush"lol) was the best system for my application.
I must say, you are the meticulous kind of owner from whom I would want to buy - probably anything!
All the best from deep in the heart of Texas!
Your watermaker is fantastic! Huge production capability.
I'm still watching this. Love this video. Very well presented. Your knowledge is impressive. The cleanliness, of EVERYthing is astonishing; absolutely astonishing. That ER! You could sit down there and have a nice lunch while admiring all the systems. I believe I saw a heater down there, so you could be nice and comfy down there.
I salute you. I don't know that I have ever in my 60+ yrs, seen a boat of that age to be so clean. Truly, even boats that are just a few years old aren't generally as clean as yours is.
Gorgeous and wow, does she scoot! I wasn't expecting that kind of speed!
I truly appreciate your kind comments. The Vacuflush is fine, We flush out the entire system after each outing, it has been trouble free with regular maintenance, seals and joker valves. etc. I replaced one of the overboard discharge pumps last month, I added shut off valves to the tanks to assist in working on it...
By far the best video / presentation I have ever seen. Very informative.
Thank you very much!
On these older boats (more than 30 years ) I can only wonder that the insurance would be for her ? Any idea for experience boater with no claims ? Cant get any of these underwriters to even ball park it ... They want a recent survey and contract to even run you a estimate. Ridiculous. Excellent walk though. Engine hours ? 1000 hour check ?
disregard about engine hours...I went back over your EXCELLENT walk through,..where you states overhauled in 2010 and 1000 hours ? and 2700 hours on original (port ) motor. ......wow...this was the most thorough walk though I have ever seen ...and I have seen quite a few in last year or so.
Appreciate that, We Used a very reputable surveyor Oct.'23 for the out of the water survey, If you have reasonable boating experience, there should be minimal issues obtaining coverage, despite the underwriters being ever more risk adverse... Stb. M/E has 1K hours since rebuild, port 2.7K hrs...
Would I be correct in assuming that the new owner may need to set up a budget of twenty-five thousand dollars a year in maintenance while setting aside the balance of unused funds for to one year but must expect to spend as much as a hundred twenty thousand dollars over five years in routine maintenance NOT including renting or owning a boat house?
This has not been our experience over the last 15 yrs.
this was the best and most complet walk thrue iv ever seen
thanks Peter. I really appreciate your kind comment...
That is one of the prettiest boats ever made in its class!
Thanks- I really like the looks too...
This is the most amazing video as if we're in a Time Warp where the boat was just put together with all new parts. Should be in a museum as being original
most kind of you. This design has really stood the test of time....
Wet nice tour and excellent yacht considering she is over 30 years old.
Thanks Randy!
What an honest walk through i enjoyed listening and learning about your boat i wish i had the money to buy your beautiful boat
That is very kind of you to say. It's easy when there is nothing to hide!
good job man
Thanks Rick!
Whew, Looked like she was on step during the run-up! Wow.
over 23 knots there so she's likely well up on plane
Awesome walk through. Exceptionally maintained boat, and its design really stands the test of time, interesting to see the white color scheme for the staterooms and heads, yes that look is a tad dated but a few small easy styling updates would bring it up a decade or two so no big deal.
most of these boats had the light color scheme down below, apparently Mr. Tollefson thought it was brighter...
Great boat and explain in Great detail.
Thank you!
This is next level dedication to detail .who could not have confidence in all this boats systems.a huge amount of perfectly sorted boat for not much money
Thanks- you have to keep after it. This boat uses common, simple and readily available components so a normal human can achieve great reliability!
Beautiful boat. If anything is less than ideal would be the 2 stroke detroits. Hard to find wizards to keep them running well.
We have had no difficulty, great support here. Reliable power for sure.
Really well done. Great video.
Thank you!
What is it with women and all their sofa pillows....
Lol it's extra flotation! And it's not always the women...
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
That is about the best walk through video I have ever watched. I now realize I know very little about yachts. Beautiful boat and awesome video. Thanks
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed...
You had better be good at jigsaw puzzles if you’re dealing with high Nattix
haha yes we have rebuilt this one successfully
Nice boat on the outside but dated on the inside not my cup of tea.
appreciate it!
Lol, perhaps a nice new fiberglass canoe from Costco would be your "cup of tea". Just kidding, it is a nice boat, tea or coffee.
If you can afford to purchase this beauty, you definitely afford to update the interior.
I find it beautiful. Classic looks, are never dated for me. It's nothing like the decor of production boats of the day up to 50'. THOSE would be dated because they were so reflective of that 80s-90s 'modern' theme. I know, I had a few. Their style failed the test of time (mostly on the inside). But for me, the most egregious styling blunders have been the bulbous 'sneaker' look of the aft cabins. Things like side decks about 6" wide, or width of the average foot. Terrible!
Really nice boat.
Thanks!
Wow! Great walk through. I love this boat!
Thanks! Appreciate it...
You need to adjust your microphone sensitivity, I could not make out anything you said prior to the walk through as your voice was to quiet. ( sitting alone in my 14th floor studio in downtown Vancouver BC )
I'll look at the walkthrough now and post any extra in a reply to this comment.
interesting that there are 3 other Tolly 61's available locally all newer and all asking for less. 1998 Tollycraft 61 for $380k US roughly being the lowest priced.
I appreciate your thought on the mic level. I am a Boattguy not a videographer- obviously!
The audio was perfectly fine for headphone users.@@boattguyafloat
OP - You come off as rather... well...I'll just stop there...
Beam?
17'8"
how much?
the owner is asking $579,000 USD or offer
What a fantastic craft you have there
We are in the uk so our boats are some what plastic tubs compared to yours, however we have just found a Hatteras 52 CMY and loving it overseas and bringing it back to the UL 👏👏👏👏 you have a very very nice boat and explanation Ned it all so easily what you done to our the boat to keep it in hip top class edition
Thank you very much
Thanks! Where in the UK?
omg, my bloody typing is awful; yes, we are in Kent and our boat is in Spain awaiting a ship to bring it to the UK. It is a 1990 52 cay although it does need a bit of engine work, you record of works on your boat is very hand to keep records
@@junebrooks665 Hi June best wishes. My dad was born in East Ham and used to go to kent after the war to Pick Hops with the family! I try to travel to Blighty every year to visit family in Essex, Good luck with your boat!
Stunned.
