Why did I not get call from IIM Bangalore even at 99.91 percentile?
In this video, I answer all of these questions that will help you understand the profile it takes to crack the top MBA institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta. There are various things required in a profile like your past academics, extracurriculars, work experience that ultimately gets you a shortlist along with your CAT score component.

My 10th and 12th scores are above 85% but I'm a 6 pointer in graduation. The only thing which is in my hand now is my CAT score but I'm skeptical about my chances🥲. Would appreciate some guidance about the colleges which I should target. Looking at past academics is not worth it but it will surely allow me to set some realistic goals.

I have a dream to get IIMA,
but I worry they won't select me because of my low academic scores and being a general engineer male. My past scores were 63% in 10th and 7.5 in the diploma program. I'm currently in my first semester of engineering and plan to give CAT2026 exam at the end of this
semester.
However, I feel even if I do well in my degree program and CAT2026, I might not get a call from IIMA.
Than i think out side of the box and make plan
I know that according to UGC guidelines, I can pursue two degrees simultaneously from different universities.
So, I will continue with my engineering degree and also take up another course, maybe something like BA in economics or psychology at open University, to add diversity to my profile. I'll aim to complete both graduation degrees at the same time and then appear for CAT2027 exam.
I hope this path will increase my chances of getting selected at IIMA.
So it is the right way to get selection from IIMA ?

ideally no, but if you are from a good college, you may have a good first impression in the PI

if you have more than 70% in grad and no work ex, you can definitely easily get all the BLACKI calls at 90%ile and maybe even at 85%ile. Below that, you still may get some (if not all) BLACKI calls.
Also your undergrad in agriculture is going to be super helpful because of academic diversity

there is a slight possibility of calls from A, I, L and definitely from all of the other IIMs too. But calls from B and C are very very unlikely.bt.

Does they prefer simple 3 year graduation over 4 year engineering ??
Academic diversity refers to the candidate coming from a non engineering background (even better if the candidate has a non conventional ug degree for instance - english hons, bjmc, architecture etc)
Also there is no preference in 3 years or 4 years UG courses (except for the PGDM in International Business course of MDI, for which you need to have a 4 year ug degree to be eligible)

What about those who appeared for 12th board in 2021 and they were given marks without even giving the exams, should IIMs consider 12th board marks for these students?
Then the weightage for that class will be given to 10th marks , so 20 marks for 10th standard marks
The criteria for bschools is unlikely to change. So it will consider
@@ananta.chhajer that's unfair, isn't it? Like ik i shouldn't complain but almost every 2021 student got above 90 in their 12th boards. This puts all the other at a disadvantaged position since the overall shortlisting and call depends on the final composite score.

there are a shit ton of variables which determine if you have a chance or not (not just past acads). That 5 in 12th is going to hurt you but still if you score really well in cat there still is a chance indeed

Your profile is unfortunately mediocre and you won't get a lot of the Acad diversity points either. In my opinion you should get some work ex for atleast an year and then go for CAT.

Oct 2024 I'll complete 3 years in work ex, and I see many B-schools score 0 for more than 24 months WEx, so will mine be a bad profile?
Note: I'm GEF, 95% (10th), 90% (12th) and 84% in Btech.
No past academics matter a lot so it's a good profile. Also work experience usually is not marked 0 above 24 months
