I work for an insurance company - and I hate to be a party pooper - but we are now watching these videos - and drivers who are deemed to be reckless will not have claims honoured. There is a UK wide insurance database - and the endless supply of Rufford videos are being used to help assess claims. It is their choice of course - but my advice to drivers is to slow down - to assess the risk before proceeding - and to not be enticed by the lure of showing off for the videos. If bumpers and floor panels are ripped off it is likely claims will not be paid - and these parts are very expensive - as indeed are the industrial drying costs for carpets and seats. In one claim, the cost of stripping seats, carpets and trim - then drying the same over a period of a few days was over £1,500 - but the car was a small 2013 model and so was declared a total loss- but the claim has now been repudiated after the video came to light - and so we will not pay - and the contractor is now pursing the customer for costs of work done.

Probably electric? There was no bubbling at the rear end and electric cars are mostly closed systems so they should survive being briefly submerged like this
When we was kids we use to make money in that way staying next to road flood and when car stalls we ask the driver as much as money he can gave us to we push his car out without he getting wet :D
I seriously think the old Land Rover Defender with the Turbo Diesel engine from the 1980s is the greatest car ever made , why ? well a friend of mine years ago crossed Africa in one and uploaded the vid to youtube at one point he and his entourage were doing 100mph across the deserts of Namibia no problem , the cars got from one end to the other of Africa no problem and most of the original Land Rovers are still on UK roads today.
That's just the regulations here. They used to be black with white lettering (front and rear) but that was phased out in 1973 and replaced with the white front and yellow rear.
Hi Len. Here’s a proper answer to your question…… According to the DVLA, the plates every car carries in the UK are different in colour for a simple reason. By having a yellow number plate at the rear and white plate at the front other drivers can quickly assess at a glance if they’re looking at the front or rear of a vehicle. This information then allows them to weigh up the likelihood of the vehicle either coming towards them or moving away from them
'With fully comprehensive car insurance policy you may be able to claim for damage to your vehicle as a result of a flood as long as you’ve taken every precaution to safeguard your car. If you take a risk and drive your car into a flood, you may not be covered for any damage caused.' This is copied and pasted from a car insurance website. people driving through this floodwater are making an expensive mistake. I pity the ones in leased cars. They're screwed. How many years will it take to pay off a £40k Mercedes?
most british roads, especially B roads follow ancient routes. This road would have been established when performance was measured in paces or the ORIGINAL horsepower, so a quick wade through an occasionally flooded river wasn't a big deal. Add to that, not every river is deep enough or has high enough banks to warrant a bridge being built, hence fords came into being. the road crossed the river, or the river crossed the road. The other thing about old roads - the windy roads that weave through fields are the old English roads, following land boundaries while the long straight (normally now A roads) are the Roman roads (because the romans didn't care who owned the land)
Coz they don't have any workers in the area to do it, due to most of them busy driving up and down through flooded roads or them being to busy filming flooded roads. Also they don't have the money to pay someone else to do it, due to all the money being given to the ppl mentioned above for universal credit and government benefits. This is a classic catch 22 situation. Or wat ppl on benefits call a catch 2+2=5 situation
