My two cents on "when" you'll be getting PS5s; when their own projects starts to go "Gold" Sure, there's still gonna be day 1 patches and all, but till they can actually send you a copy of Demon's Souls, Godfall, etc.. I don't think Sony will be in a rush. Whereas MSFT really is focusing on "it's about the back catalogue, not just 'next gen'", so they can send units early for people. Would be different if Sony was trying to sell units based on back catalogue

I am sooooo excited for demons souls, but I recently played through most of the ps3 version, and.... I don't think bluepoint can make it a 94 on metacritic. There's things about it that are straight up weird, beyond QOL, that make it more obtuse, frustrating, and uninviting then any other souls game. I can already see the ign review "gorgeous remake of the game that started it all, but with gameplay mechanics that feel dated" that type of thing. Mid 80s despite being what I'm most excited for.

I can't believe we're about to go into next-gen and STILL have so many questions about saves carrying forward to PS5. This seems like such a basic thing to provide support on. The conflicting information and speculation out there is just confusing. Sony needs to comes forward and clarify all of these things. The longer they wait, the more people will speculate and arguably become aggravated over the whole situation.
Well Microsoft's strategy was all about backcompat and gamepass, that's why they differted a lot of resources to that area. And that is showing in their launch line up and the lack of exclusives. People tend to forget how much work and resources these kind of things take from a company. I for one am glad that sony focussed first on the launch line up of the ps5, these details could always be sorted out later on.

I'd set it at 62, but I'm expecting some pity reviews due to nothing in particular being wrong with it, and a little influence from the excitement of playing a pretty next gen game to bump it up a bit.

(Commentators on the Zenimax purchase have really underestimated how much that game makes and how important it is to Microsoft's games-as-a-service strategy.) Donkeybaby The latest Godfall trailer looks good, story is a bit meh, graphics are nice but there’s... nothing to the world. It’s just desolate arena after arena with 5 or so enemies in each section. We haven’t received much in the way of story content and the world looks as good as what you’d see in a “high-end” mobile game
So, without doing any research to figure out the young ladies name from the cover of 'First Sunday' also played in 'The Wood' and 'Soul Food' the series amongst a bunch of features in TV and film. *after some research* Malinda Williams, and to connect to games she also voiced a character in one of the World of War Warcraft expansions.
Regarding save files - think of games like Avengers. Avengers already confirmed a free PS5 upgrade. This is a living game where your characters matter. There is no way that they do not offer you to transfer your saves to the PS5 version. I get having the mindset "I believe it when I see it", that's totally fine, I'm with you. But man, I can't see that game specifically to not offer a save transfer.
The fact that this is even a question is exactly why people are upset with Sony. This should be an obvious thing and if it isn't then Sony should be saying up front why this is happening.
Remember when transferring (cross play) was a thing between PSP and PS3; and to a certain extent Vita and PS3. It was cumbersome with some games and rather smooth with others. MGS PEACE WALKER, Sound Shapes, Thomas was Alone, Guacamelee (I could be won’t on that last one). Not all of the games did it but enough did to give me hope that 10 yes later Sony would’ve figured (iterated) a smooth way of Transfsring between games on different hardware.

Save file transfer is going to be dependent on if it's in PS4 BC mode or if the game has been converted to a native PS5 game. The former will read saves just like the games do in BC mode. The latter would likely require the save to be converted by devs within the PS5 game, as save file data isn't universal.
Okay I’m only 35 minutes in so maybe it changes, but PRICE IS RIGHT RULES ARE SO DUMB! ESPECIALLY FOR TWO PEOPLE! The second person voting has no incentive to think about their actual prediction. What's their answer to if your PS4 game saves are going to work and transfer over to your PS5? What's the UI even look like on the PS5? Will PS4 games even run better on a PS5 or they just being emulated over? Are there any enhancements for your games that you've previously bought and paid for? And for psvr, they have announced that you will need a dongle adapter for it to work and that it's going to be free. but when is this coming? how are you going to be able to get your hands on one? where are you going to be able to get your hands on one? when are you going to be able to get your hands on one? What's the PS5+ plan look like day one? How long until PS5 playable games are going to be on there? What does your create button on your PS5 controllers what does that do? So we're about a month and a half away from people having PS5 in their hands in their houses and we have no clue what it's going to look like when you boot it up and turn it on. you have no clue what the store looks like. you have no clue if you're going to play your VR games on it. you have no clue how many of your PS4 games are going to be able to play on it?
I think maybe you both should have sent your predictions to Kevin in a private text or chat. Then reveal what they are after you've gone through talking about each title. That way you're doing it without knowing what the other chose to predict and you can do the price is right or whatever version you want to settle who wins.
I think the comparison of spiderman remastered with other games getting free upgrades is the time difference of their releases. Most of the games getting free upgrades are near the launch of the next gen which is where the publishers hope to recover their costs. While I am yet to see any other game released last year or earlier getting dense upgrades like spiderman remastered for free through 'smart delivery' or something. With the same philosophy miles morales is indeed getting a free upgrade.
You guys should do Whoever is closest, but have a threshold. Maybe of 5 points. So if one of you guesses 80, and it's 81, they win. But if it's 86, they don't get the point. So in a scenario where one guesses 80, the other guesses 85, but the end result is 70, the person who was a whole 10 points off doesn't get a point out of that.

So here's a weird prediction around the Tinkerer in Miles Morales. She's leading a rebel alliance like group who's trying to bring down evil Roxxon. I think by endgame She's an ally/love interest for Miles. That prediction is only based on by the fact that Miles interrupted a Roxxon robery and he was the one who caused the explosion not them.
I’m expecting PS4 save files to work via the cloud as a backwards compatible file with the PS4 version of the game. I’m not expecting save files to be upgraded from PS4 to PS5, similar to how originals and remasters don’t use the same save files.
Astrobot’s Playroom is one of the games I’m looking forward to! If it shows me what the DualSense is capable of (and let’s be honest, it will) then I’m good. I don’t have PSVR as I might as well wait for PSVR 2 so I still haven’t played the first Astro. If this is like a Super Mario 3D type experience with PlayStation nostalgia? Sign me the hell up!
Spidey PS4(2018) boosted/ upscale would only increase/ upscale the resolution (sharper image) and upscale frames. The game itself hasn't had any changes. Whereas a remaster will have that upscaling plus additions, remodels, upgraded assets and textures. Possibly additional modes and content, fuller world etc. All changes internally. Not the same game

I think a lot more people share Greg's perspective on Spiderman Remastered than he might expect. I will also platinum it again, and I definitely wouldn't have even bothered either if it was just an update file to the PS4 version adding ray tracing & whatever else. Also as for the "double dipping," Spiderman is dirt cheap on the PS4 now, like all "old" games. Why would they invest money into updating so much if you can literally buy it for 10 dollars on ebay? Even in the Miles Ultimate Edition, it's only $20, hardly "double dipping."

Save file transfer is going to be dependent on if it's in PS4 BC mode or if the game has been converted to a native PS5 game. The former will read saves just like the games do in BC mode. The latter would likely require the save to be converted by devs within the PS5 game, as save file data isn't universal.

So we're about a month and a half away from people having PS5 in their hands in their houses and we have no clue what it's going to look like when you boot it up and turn it on. you have no clue what the store looks like. you have no clue if you're going to play your VR games on it. you have no clue how many of your PS4 games are going to be able to play on it?
I think maybe you both should have sent your predictions to Kevin in a private text or chat. Then reveal what they are after you've gone through talking about each title. That way you're doing it without knowing what the other chose to predict and you can do the price is right or whatever version you want to settle who wins.

I think the comparison of spiderman remastered with other games getting free upgrades is the time difference of their releases. Most of the games getting free upgrades are near the launch of the next gen which is where the publishers hope to recover their costs. While I am yet to see any other game released last year or earlier getting dense upgrades like spiderman remastered for free through 'smart delivery' or something. With the same philosophy miles morales is indeed getting a free upgrade.

You guys should do Whoever is closest, but have a threshold. Maybe of 5 points. So if one of you guesses 80, and it's 81, they win. But if it's 86, they don't get the point.
So in a scenario where one guesses 80, the other guesses 85, but the end result is 70, the person who was a whole 10 points off doesn't get a point out of that.

If Spiderman Miles Morales can nail stealth in a manner that is on par with Batman Arkham Asylum I'll love it so much more than the original game.

I think by endgame She's an ally/love interest for Miles. That prediction is only based on by the fact that Miles interrupted a Roxxon robery and he was the one who caused the explosion not them.

I’m expecting PS4 save files to work via the cloud as a backwards compatible file with the PS4 version of the game. I’m not expecting save files to be upgraded from PS4 to PS5, similar to how originals and remasters don’t use the same save files.
Astrobot’s Playroom is one of the games I’m looking forward to! If it shows me what the DualSense is capable of (and let’s be honest, it will) then I’m good. I don’t have PSVR as I might as well wait for PSVR 2 so I still haven’t played the first Astro. If this is like a Super Mario 3D type experience with PlayStation nostalgia? Sign me the hell up!
Spidey PS4(2018) boosted/ upscale would only increase/ upscale the resolution (sharper image) and upscale frames. The game itself hasn't had any changes.
Whereas a remaster will have that upscaling plus additions, remodels, upgraded assets and textures. Possibly additional modes and content, fuller world etc. All changes internally. Not the same game

Spiderman combat will feel the same from game to game but have new combos / more refined. The batman series done that but did not make the sequels a shitter game
They need to post more updates on the little details like MS is doing. I'm sold on the hardware and games but want more on the UI, PSNOW, and backwards compatibility.

I think a lot more people share Greg's perspective on Spiderman Remastered than he might expect. I will also platinum it again, and I definitely wouldn't have even bothered either if it was just an update file to the PS4 version adding ray tracing & whatever else.
Also as for the "double dipping," Spiderman is dirt cheap on the PS4 now, like all "old" games. Why would they invest money into updating so much if you can literally buy it for 10 dollars on ebay? Even in the Miles Ultimate Edition, it's only $20, hardly "double dipping."
