Yes cheese melts, it helps hold things together! McDLT - i was there, working when it happened. How will the cool side stay "cool" when it sat in the heating bin?
I was a part of that small following that ordered the Angus burgers. I remember those were the first McDonald's burger that I had from the menu when I was finally allowed to order something that wasn't a happy meal.

I’ll give you some information about the McSpaghetti in the Philippines, it was a big hit due to how many people loved spaghetti, it also rivaled Jollibee’s Spaghetti, with all that information all I can say is Pilipinos love them spaghettis.
I liked the MC DLT, the idea was keeping the cold ingredients cold and the burger side hot, and it really did work from what I remember. It wasn't that hard to put the burger together.
McDonald’s: *makes Spaghetti and it fails* Jollibee: *puts hot dogs on the Spaghetti and gets customers* Me: Jollibee, your genius is showing! Jollibee: *panik*
Well, the reason McDonald's Spaghetti did so well in the Philippines is because that's how most spaghetti there taste. Hence the reason Jollibee Spaghetti is so sweet.
I ordered those all the time cuz I didn't like crappy fastfood meat... they took forever, and everyone would be annoyed at me for ordering it cuz they had to wait.
My Lebanese husband, who work in Qatar for around 16 years, always asking for Big Tasty everytime we went to McDonald at the first years he stayed in my country. I was so confuse about it and told him we don't have it here, I offer him Big Mac and he complain that it's not big enough. So Big Tasty is a real thing?!
@@Menel-sg1rh I am Romanian and I can confirm the Big Tasty is a real thing. It's somewhat different than what Americans might know as the "Big n Tasty". The American version had ketchup and mayonnaise for the sauces and also dill pickles with no cheese. The Big Tasty has Emmental cheese, no pickles and a special sauce that has a smoky flavor to it. In Romania it's probably the most popular item at McDonald's followed by the spicy wings. Yes, Romanian McDonald's serves spicy wings year-round :)
Now they try to brand as “classy and sophisticated” and not “it’s midnight and I want a greasy burger and nuggets before I pass out from my all-nighter-no-sleep-binge”.

@@alexagurrola170 Don't know about the US since I have never been there but while McDonald's also has a reputation in Europe as being junk food because, well, that's what it is, I heard from Americans who have said that European McD is better quality than American and that mostly in part to tighter European Union regulations and different cultures. They're also heavily centered around the idea of "McCafe" where they offer Starbucks-like items and "premium" burgers. I've also noticed McDonald's in Europe tends to be more expensive than in the US (either by direct comparison or when compared to a country's average salary), especially in Germany and Sweden.
So many of these items I've never heard of. I worked at Little Caesars for 5 years in the early 90s, you should do a video of all the items they attempted and failed at.
I remember my dad trying the Arch Deluxe and he said it was nothing special. As a burger itself it's not a BAD idea, any diner could probably whip up something with that combination of ingredients, but when I went to McD's it was for the burgers, nuggets, and chicken sandwiches. Those commercials make the pizza look amazing, not gonna lie. But when I was a kid Domino's and Pizza Hut where THE pizza joints, and we had about a dozen real pizza parlors in my neighborhood. So I probably didn't miss out on much!

Mighty Wings were FAR from a failure in the Detroit area. In the early 2000’s, I worked for McDonalds when the Mighty Wings were available on 2 separate occasions. The option didn't fail, it was cancelled by McDonald's because it costs Macdonald's more money, as opposed to just selling the large size cup. Why would anyone buy a large soda when they could just supersize it for a little more? This results in warehouses and stores full of regular large size cups. Same with fries. Also by cutting the supersize option, less fries and soda are being consumed, so they could sell more later on. The supersize was a discount, not an upsell. It was a great promotion, but a bad economic strategy. Once upon a time you could get 6 nuggets for a dollar. Spend 4 dollars, get 24 nuggets. At the same time the 20 piece nugget was 5 dollars. It took macdonalds years to catch on to this. Not because you get 24 nuggets for 4 dollars, but because they had millions of 20 piece nugget boxes laying around.
The Steak, Egg, and Cheese bagel was the best. A pricey item that was replaced with the much cheaper McGriddle. The steak in these things were awesome. An actual hunk of steak that was micro cut in a way that they fell apart.

The Angus Burgers are still sold in Australia as Angus beef is really popular here. One thing I remember liking as a kid from Maccas was the happy meal ravioli option shaped like animals and honestly tasted better without the sause. I loved it, but they didn't last long.
The Pasta Zoo? I actually tried it in my Happy Meals at that time because I wanted to see what it tasted like. They even had Shrek and Kung Fu Panda themed editions!
I was a swing manager when I was in highschool (1996-1999) and actually ran one of the shops in a Walmart like they had back in the day. My 2. Big takeaways: McDonald's burgers were basic 80/20 beef, nothing special. The reason they have their distinctive taste was because they liberally seasoned them with a salt and pepper mixture. I still season my beef the same way to this day. #2. The Arch Deluxe was a pain in the ass to make. If you ordered them when they were around you were the problem.
The McSpaghetti being introduced in Italy is nothing compared to Domino's opening franchises there. Unsurprisingly, they failed. The hubris of thinking you can sell americanized spaghetti or pizza to Italians is spectacular.
We have soup here in Portugal, and it’s really good!!! We have like three/four different offers, and they taste good :) I normally get them as a side instead of fries Also the deluxe ones work really well, both as limited, and then there was a limited that became part of the menu :) Normally it’s different cheeses or the mushroom burger :)
I work in fast food and can safely say that restaurants are taking this seriously, and you can trust most places! We change our gloves constantly, wash our hands every hour, and disinfect our surfaces with Lysol and hot, soapy water and sanitizer at least 3 times a shift. All employees wear masks. Can't speak the same for others, but ours does! Hope this helps!
its not exactly the same tho. the one patty big macs have thicker meat patties than a regular cheeseburger. the hamburgers/cheeseburgers are 10/1 10 patties makes 1 pound, the angus burgers were 3/1 the small big mac burgers were 5/1. other than that tho yes...its the same damn thing :p
In the late 90s our local McDonald's had an option for bucket o' fries. It was a large paper cup used for their soft drinks filled with nothing but fries. It was awesome! Did anyone else have something like that or was it just something my McDonald's had?
I know Coney (the chain unsure about the place) have huge buckets of fries. Ate those during high school. My incel boyfriends dad owned the stores though so I'm not getting those again lol
I remember so many of these I had forgotten. I always wanted to try the pizza, but also couldn't help wondering how good pizza from McDonald's might actually be.
McDo spaghetti was a huge seller when I lived in the Philippines in the early 90s. It was really good too. But they also made really good burgers there too... not like the junk we get here.
Oh, I loved the convenience of the McSoups, quick stop for a work lunch. And you felt like you had a pretty healthy lunch choice. Wish these can back along with my other mentions, Cheese Danish, Raspberry Danish, and the super convenient on the go salads, McShakers.
As a kid, I totally remember loving the pizza. I also remember liking the pizza pocket. But I have no idea if my classy refined childhood palate was playing tricks on me.
The Angus Deluxe was great! I regularly went to McDonald's to get one. When they disappeared, they lost my regular business. McSpaghetti - Scottish pasta?
OMG, some of my favorites of course. Loved the McDLT, really cant figure out why it was better, lol. Also really loved the McShakers, very convenient Salad, but they did start to suffer from quality issues, I can remember getting them where the shredded cheese had sat too long and turned into a mass of wet nasty cheese. Sorry to see the 2 best breakfast Danishes didn't make the list. The Cheese Danish and Raspberry Danish. I remember getting both to mix and match....
My absolute favorites in the 90s were the personal pizzas and I think it was called the cheddar melt. Those pizzas were the best tho. You just had to wait 92 hours for it. The salad shakers were the best too.
I'll never forget when I ordered something and the employee said "ok you want 2 Big Mucks, and a medium fry". I said damn, what all come on the Big Muck. They told me to look at it on the menu lol.
The gurakoro burger is actually not a fail, it's just a limited item in the winter time. It's actually pretty popular during that season tbh if you look it up more!
Absolutely, it’s one of my favourites, in fact many people in Japan look forward to this limited seasonal edition every year! What a blatant lie, Watchmojo - do more research!

Hardee's (now Tim Hortons) had a better mushroom swiss burger than McDonald's
@@jamesarmstrong1811 Hooters and Dairy Queen have a good Swiss Burger too.
@@jamesbounds I forgotten about Dairy Queen, yes they do have a great mushroom and Swiss burger, need to get one when they open in the spring
@@jamesbounds DQ does have a great mushroom and Swiss burger, need to get one when they open in spring
Y’all I miss the Angus burger that was the best one at McDonald’s I really like buying that one
Those were pretty good
Yeah that mushroom and Swiss was better than most of the non fast food places.
I was wondering what happened to the angus burger those things slapped
Good call. I'm drooling just thinking about it!
Consumers weren’t big on a $6 burger. It was great though.
7:40 I LOVED the Chicken Fajitas they were like 2 for $1.50 or something like that, freaking loved them. Also the Onion Nuggets were freaking amazing
In my country, we still sell angus burgers but right now they are temporarily discontinued
Sophia Kiedrowski what country
Canada. it said it in the video. the Angus burger has been temporarily taken off the menu for health and safety issues during the outbreak
@@sophiakiedrowski587 the angus was taken off temporarily? i haven't been there in a while but i'm also canadian
The beefsteak sandwich was amazing
We have like three/four different offers, and they taste good :) I normally get them as a side instead of fries
Also the deluxe ones work really well, both as limited, and then there was a limited that became part of the menu :) Normally it’s different cheeses or the mushroom burger :)
I LOVED salad shakers. It was such a good way to limit salad dressing use and mix all the ingredients. I now shake all my salads...
Honestly if I wasn't for this virus, I would eating in places like McDonald's

I work in fast food and can safely say that restaurants are taking this seriously, and you can trust most places! We change our gloves constantly, wash our hands every hour, and disinfect our surfaces with Lysol and hot, soapy water and sanitizer at least 3 times a shift. All employees wear masks. Can't speak the same for others, but ours does! Hope this helps!
The "Big N Tasty" was absolutely delicious! 🤤😁
Yes...
We have the 'big tasty'
Its noice
Yeah You can order a Chesse burger dressed like a Big Mac
By litarely ordering it by saying
"Can I get a Burger dressed like a Big Mac"
its not exactly the same tho. the one patty big macs have thicker meat patties than a regular cheeseburger. the hamburgers/cheeseburgers are 10/1 10 patties makes 1 pound, the angus burgers were 3/1
the small big mac burgers were 5/1.
other than that tho yes...its the same damn thing :p
@@simul8rduude not true i work there lmao
@@haza6893 so do i. and yeah it is true. they just don't order the 5/1's anymore for the little macs.

It feel's like that some cutouts from the last macdonald fails were reused again
Imagine Ketchup, shredded american cheese, and frozen dough. I guess they had pepperoni(??)
I actually got the Fish Mcbites when they were out. They weren’t half bad, and the little tartar sauce that came with them was actually good.
The McSalad Shakers were fire I used to love them as a kid. Those and the lemon pies
That beefsteak sandwich looked great though.
The angus deluxe was really the quarter pounder deluxe. Just a different box.
I loved the Arch Deluxe!!
Wasn’t there already a top 10 list about it

I remember the angus third-pounder. It was so good, my customers were disappointed when I told them it was gone.
I used to make double 3rds with mcrib sauce when those were in season at our store. I miss those too. They were so good.

The mushroom and swiss burger was delicious
OMG, some of my favorites of course. Loved the McDLT, really cant figure out why it was better, lol. Also really loved the McShakers, very convenient Salad, but they did start to suffer from quality issues, I can remember getting them where the shredded cheese had sat too long and turned into a mass of wet nasty cheese. Sorry to see the 2 best breakfast Danishes didn't make the list. The Cheese Danish and Raspberry Danish. I remember getting both to mix and match....
I actually LOVED the fish mcbites.
I would of been down to try them, but I didn't know they existed until now 😂😂
I loves those. I was sad when the weren't on the menu anymore.
I really liked the Arch Deluxe. I was pretty sad when they discontinued it.
#15 literally shows that they were for a limited time
I actually remembered enjoying Big N Tasty and got so sad when it discontinued.
The most iconic phrase:
"Let me have another spoonful here"
Has a fork
11:57 i would like to point out that despite being a failure, it does say that fish mcbite were only planned as a limited time thing
I'm still waiting for a burger called McLovin
I wonder if they’ll make something called Grilled McCheese.
Cheers dits
You guys forgot the McSkillet breakfast burrito, it was the best thing to get before 10:30 am breakfast hours
McDonald's might have sponsored this video. 😂
The Angus Burger sounds interesting; I'd try the bacon & cheese version. Along with the McStuffings, McLobster & Eggs McBenedict.
I remember the McSalad Shakers. Heck I remember having them. They were good as hell.
My absolute favorites in the 90s were the personal pizzas and I think it was called the cheddar melt. Those pizzas were the best tho. You just had to wait 92 hours for it. The salad shakers were the best too.
Salad shakers and the fruit and yogurt parfaits were awesome
I'll never forget when I ordered something and the employee said "ok you want 2 Big Mucks, and a medium fry". I said damn, what all come on the Big Muck. They told me to look at it on the menu lol.
One discontinued mcdonalds menu item that I loved was the chicken McBites. They were actually really good.
I know that.
Me after seeing this video
I AM GONNA GET A BURGER NOW. 🍔
Cheera dits no one cares
Those Mighty Wings were DELICIOUS!!! My feelings were genuinely hurt when they pulled the plug on them. XD
What ever happened to the fajitas! Those were amazing!!
Yes indeed! The breakfast fajita ftw!
I actually enjoyed the Angus burgers, and for a while they kept me going to McDonalds, until they were discontinued.
I loved them.
If I ever gain access to a time machine, I will travel back in time to try all the discontinued McDonald’s items.
*This is really a Top 20 of reasons why there's rising health care costs.*

Nope, it's called self discipline and taking personal responsibility. It's pretty much a given that it's not healthy to eat fast food regularly.
@@CleetusVanDamme530I'd think 20 failed mcdonalds menu items is proof of self discipline, so whats your point.

Good thing the McJizzum never got past the testing stages.
The mcJizzum is the most secret of menu items. Alot of customers don't know that they still recieve one till this day. Only on the late night menu. Funfact: Bolivian women seem to extract the best fresh jizzum from the source, ready for you at 2am.
Loved the salad shakers!
I worked as at McDonald's for 10 years 2008-2018. 8 if those years as a manager. I can tell you for a fact that fish mcbites were absolutely not a failure. They were meant to come and go. While we had them they were the most popular item by a large margin. When they left people lost their minds
