@@Vespern-3-n honestly everyone in the story was guilty in some way or another (except violetta, which is why i think she was killed off first in order for the performance to work, sort of like a sacrificial lamb). While some actions are worse than others, all of them have very morally complex actions. I can never defend Weepy for what he did to Violetta, but I can recognize that in the beginning he wasn’t all that bad. After all, he was kind according to the lore before Sergi came in

what really gets me is that Joker didn't even get to be seen as himself, purely himself, even to the bitter end. It was always Sergei. *He* was always Sergei, the man he hated most in the entire world apart from himself. Hullabaloo is really a tale of pure misfortune. In a way the circus took everything away from everyone in the end
Violetta was more worried about the play because shes used to being abused for messing up in her performances so she saw what happened to her as a punishment for not being a good actor😢
I can talk about Murro and his cruel irony of existence FOR HOURS His only wish was FREEDOM. He wanted to be free from Hullabaloo, from the abuse and whispers. He hated the place, but never the people. He’s very caring toward everyone, and it was always like that (during Joker’s crash out he didn’t say a word towards Murro - he had no words to say, as Murro was always kind and understanding). And now, that happy boy Mike that sees Bernard in him is no more, oh so lovely Violetta is no more, Natalie and Joker are no more, Hullabaloo is no more. He is free. He has found his freedom IN THEIR DEATHS. THAT IS NOT THE FREEDOM HE WISHED FOR. This is why his letters are so depressing, so stupidly heavy and he just WISHES he dies and joins them, Hullabaloo once more - somewhere beyond the hurt. I cannot with how this funky old dude riding a boar is written, it’s downright CRUEL to make him such a great character. I was happier when he was just a ha-ha funny boar man Also, I thoroughly believed Murro was in on (as in knew it would happen) the final fire. And now it’s confirmed that he was not, and that he had to watch Mike burn himself/blow himself up, while thinking that maybe they can actually be a happy family, a true happy little family now that it’s ALL OVER. i’m not fine.
Murro having to see mike off himself is so sad. They were a true family, a real pair. They loved each other deeply like brothers, but yet Mike couldn’t come with him. The one person that had such compassion for him. Gone, and he cant even get him back. 😢
Margies story is such a great example of the cycle of abuse especially the part where she died how she had to find a escape for margie not Natalie and how margies escape was her jumping into the lake that goes through lake side her home town and when she says “im not going back” ITS ALL SO GOOD her seeing weepy as Sergei weepy becoming the very thing he hated all of margies dreams where she in the water and sergie is calling out to her and in her final moments the same thing happens with weepy but she doesn’t swim towards him she accepts her death with a smile on her face because her life is finally in her hands she gets to decide her death literally started crying when it happened
No one’s bringing it up but I just love everything about Violetta’s story and her characterization, even outside of the event. She was born without limbs which made her parents discard her and allowed to be taken into a freakshow as the main performance. When she lost popularity and was thrown away for a second time, that’s when she decided to get the spider prosthetics and become the way she is now. The thing that makes that so sad to me is that it’s a decision clearly made in the mindset of “This is how I can become the most popular freakshow act” and not “This is how I can become a popular actor” which is shown to be her actual goal in life. But she doesn’t believe that anyone would ever pay attention to her in that regard, so she chooses the spider option. This, in the end, leads to her being ostracized more and made fun both within and out of the circus. She wasn’t even a popular figure in hullabaloo as seen in the beginning when the actual popular acts (Mike, Margie) don’t even recognize who she is at first. This is what makes Joker, the only other disabled character at the circus, killing her so much worse to me. He was also ostracized for his disability, but instead of finding camaraderie with Violetta for this, he starts to resent her and doesn’t even view her as a person by the end of it. He sees Violetta as just another obstacle in the way of his and Natalie’s happy ending and talks about her death like an afterthought, something he only thinks of due to its importance to others. TLDR Violetta makes me crazy, I’m so glad this event showed off her story to more players but I wish she got better. (Also surv Violetta when)
THIS, she only ever wanted to be an actor. Seeing her vision of her getting her wish, but without her disability hurt because she was practically raised on that being the reason she wasn't getting her dream.

i am becoming joker’s no1 defender because everyone mischaracterizes him sooo much even though he has arguably some of the most traumatic experiences, alongside violetta and margie it doesn’t say in this story but when joker was in the circus his role was basically to be the laughing stock, he was humiliated, thrown rotten eggs at and laughed at sure, it was part of the performance, but he hated it, and took huge tolls on his mental health and then of course sergei and margie came, and sergei stole the spotlight from him he obviously took interest in margie and we know what happened, but also a thing that goes sorta unnoticed is that sergei also broke jokers prosthetic leg. and this also mirrors later when he does what he did to violetta and broke her legs. throughout this story he’s basically just becoming the one person he hated the most. with him taking Sergei’s makeup, to everyone calling him, margie hallucinating about him, and up to violetta’s death. i do think margie also had manipulated him, whether intentional or not, i could see either way, but it IS canonical that she used him to escape her situation when she didn’t have any feelings joker would comfort her, sit besides her bed to help her sleep, he knows how to cook her favorite food and she took all of that to her advantage even since the circus days and blatantly betrayed him i sorta hate the scene where they are arguing in the room and she says something along the lines of “we need to escape this place… i need YOU, joker. goodnight” to me personally i feel like this was perhaps unintentionally giving joker the go ahead to finish off violetta granted, he DID genuinely believe that killing her was the only way to move on with the performance and escape, which it was, it definitely was not cuz he hated her or anything because mike or murro even says how the killer didn’t want to kill her themselves in some sort of way he still did care, otherwise he wouldn’t have used hallucinations instead of straight up killing her i do think his breaking point was margie turning on him last second even though his only goal was to protect her, and DESPITE that he still goes back to her and chases after her until she inevitably decides to end her life in the new portrait frames it indicated their deaths too, margie is surround by water, Mike is surrounded by fire, violetta is laying down peacefully, murro is the only one with his eyes open to show that he lived and although not shown, it’s implied joker ended his life as well by jumping in the water for her too after he escaped, because he is also surrounded by water, he makes me so sad, man.
Thank youuu for this but (I’m not very sure) but in his character files , where the relationships are it is said that Joker had a lot of hostility towards Violetta . So maybe he just hated her from the beginning ? That’s something that I think of . Maybe he sees himself in her so he hates her because he hates himself (I’m overthinking this)
@@AtheCupdefinitely could be wrong but i wouldn’t doubt that hostility just meant his actions towards her in the end, hostility usually does indicate some sort of hatred, but at the core it just means antagonism which usually results in conflict i don’t think it’s his genuine feelings, but just the fact that he did kill her especially pretty brutally he had no reason to hate her, when everyone was reacting to her death, he definitely seemed heartless but really was just doing a performance in the rhyme it said how the killer must “blame the sun” which he did and was just keeping up the performance to keep the game going i bet he was pretty neutral about her in general, but obviously his love for margie overcame anything and everything else
Margeretha was taking advantage of weeping clown for safety, just like in the first part of the story she said she would play along with sergei! Until she can be free, theres a line of dialouge from murro that says natalie is a horrible actor, jokers other line during the tent scene was something along the lines of being the only one to believe her preformance because he loves her and in that moment her taking the side of the morton brothers was an act of betrayal..everyone could see she was using him. But even in the end margies hallucinations got the better of her, envisioning joker as smiley face and weeping clown. She takes her own agency back and takes her life as a final act of independance and freedom.
I love the whole cast, i think we can all pin this down to blaming orpheus to be honest, he takes people who are vulenrable and makes them do these crazy things..drugs them etc. Its so sick, every character potrayed in this event could be empathized with even if theyre actions were unjust (joker, mike) but thats the beauty of idv..most characters are morally grey, and most are those who are on the brink of emotional breakdowns.

I finally finished the story yesterday and omg I need to put this out here. Margaretha and Joker are so very Romeo and Juliet coded, with one taking their life and the other following after. They're also represented as the sun and moon, which was interesting because Joker is the sun while Margie is the moon. You'd think with how much of Joker's world revolves around Margie, it'd be the other way around, but it makes a lot of sense when you think about it more. Joker is the sun, warm and passionate. He sets himself ablaze to shine light upon the one he loves, till he burns out. Margie is the moon, distant yet bright. She shines, always so close yet so far. She lives with the light Joker gives her, the freedom he granted her through Sergei's death. However, she can never escape the memories of Sergei, her original sun, the one who burned her. Murro and Mike are, obviously, characterized as the prince and his knight. In a way, it's sweet. In stories, the prince and their knight are close, possessing a brotherly relationship. Mike, the naive prince, was oblivious to the suffering of his people (the other members). Murro, the knight, was aware and suffered too, running away with help from Mike. Ironic, the naive prince protects the knight instead of the other way around. When Mike's eyes are opened to everything, whether he had first turned away, pretended to be blind, or sincerely hadn't understood the situation, it hurt him to his core. The friends and family, the place he called home, was all a cruel performance, a beautiful lie. It's why, once again, he sets Murro free, telling him to go out before him. Once again, the naive prince protects his knight, destroying the home he loved as it was only a nightmare in disguise. Perhaps, as it is his birthright, it is also his sins to bear. For Violetta, I can't think of the perfect representation that's obviously connected to her. I think the best one I can think of is a star. Although that's more closely tied to Mike, it also makes quite a bit of sense for Vio. Since the beginning, Vio has wanted to be one of the performers, the ones who were adored. She was treated more like an attraction, an animal in a cage. All she's wanted was to be treated normally, to be loved like the others. She practiced and practiced, doing whatever it took. The brightest stars die the quickest, exhausting their flames. Her final performance was the most brilliant, making her death all the more saddening. It was her first and last show as herself, receiving the attention she wanted the way she had wished all her life. Even that, too, was only a hallucination. Only death could be so kind to her, faintly reminiscent of the story of the little match girl. Much like Joker, they're someone who cares too much, inevitably fizzling out in the vastness of space. The most sorrowful fact is that no matter how hard these five people fought against their fate, all that waited for them in the end was nothing but death: Violetta, who believed that performing on stage was the meaning of her life, died in the first show where she was finally the spotlight. Natalie, who thought she had avoided being sacrificed at Lakeside Village, still couldn’t escape the fate of drowning in the ice-cold waters. Joker, who killed for himself and the woman he loved, finally chose to commit suicide for both reasons. Mike, who loved the Hullabaloo ever since he was a child, sent himself and the Hullabaloo into fire, leaving nothing but ashes. And Murro, who got the “hero’s play”, couldn’t save anyone in the end…🥺

@disregardthesun At Lakeside, Nat's family were part of a cult that regularly sacrificed to their "Water God" or "Fire God" Nat, ran eloped with Sergi and got married to him. So if she had stayed she would have been another sacrifice to the Gods. Yidhra (Dream Witch) and Hastur, (Feaster" by the way.
@shahriarshan2741 In his Experimental File, it's said he followed Nat in the way he died, meaning he jumped into the lake to be with her. If you look at the Custom Portraits you can buy, you'll see Nat & Joker both in water, signifying their fates like the others showing theirs too.
As for Mike.. now thinking more on it. I do see why he was really oblivious and naive to the pain hullabaloo members were experiencing. Having arrived there as a child and to be conditioned to view the circus as positive for a long time, of course it will be hard to imagine the negatives of it. It would be hard to break out of the illusion. And my feelings haven’t changed on why he blew everything up. It’s super obvious to see he couldn’t handle the truth and guilt of hullabaloo circus. Super depressing. It doesn’t excuse the lashing out but it does explain why. And it leaves you with complicated feelings. Its beautiful
What’s crazy was that Baron deRoss’ initial experiment design favored Joker to be the last survivor. But because of his severe inferiority complex, his emotions became extreme enough to resort to drastic measures even without the drugs.

Murro did survive the game before being put into another game. Murro was also Bernard’s (Ringmaster of Hullabaloo) nephew and he adopted Mike when he was abandoned by his parents. Mike helped Murro escape the circus by faking his death because of how horribly he was treated. Sergi put chemicals in Joker’s makeup which burned his face. Also Margie’s original name is Natasha and she changed it to Natalie when she joined the circus then Margaretha after the hullabaloo massacre. Hope this lore helps you out with understanding the game!

Mike did blew himself up (and died), Margie drowned herself, Joker is heavily implied to had also unchained himself and went to drown himself to be with Margie, and yes, Murro is the only survivor of game 8 (Hullabaloo event/game). 2. These games are all pretty much experiments set up by Orpheus himself to test his chemicals onto other people (he usually blackmail them via letters to get them into the manor, or promise them something to get them there). 3. Murro (for some unexplained reasons) decided to stay back at the manor instead of leaving. Which leads him into game 9 (with Naib-mercenary, Kurt-exploder, William-forward and Servai-magician as the other participants) *[For more info on game 9, watch this video: ruclips.net/video/4Xw5urmol4o/видео.html ] (I recommend checking out their channel as well! They posted a lot of idv lore stuffs)* 4. The perfume that Margie used in chapter 1 is actually hallucinogenic drug putted there by Orpheus. He wanted to test them out on various participant (Margie being the target in this case), (the perfume is actually made by Vera, the perfumer! Orpheus purchased them because of their hallucinogenic properties made by Vera herself). They causes intense emotions or spiked anxiety, which causes the user to see visions (these reactions may vary depending on Orpheus intention with each game). And yes, he will write novels about each game’s deaths and publishes them as novels. (/bastard). 5. For Violetta, I think that Mad Eye founded her body and restored her into soul weaver? Since he works as one of the staff on the manor and probably experimented on her in order to turn her into a hunter. - If u hav any other questions feel free to ask! i must say that you shurely CANT hate them all. and joker.. my poor babe i think it's the world was too cruel to him too. cause in his letters there it's literally a phrase about him "Resigned to adversity, enduring, inherently kind, emotional release". he was too broken. it's the story not about, like, good and evil. and that's important. they are broken and the only actual thing we can do is just... feel sorry for them and cry.
THE STORY IS SO GOOD! I love the way you could tell what the characters were feeling! Its so cool to see how they animated the story and everything, the graphics are amazing! One of my favorite things about the whole story is Jokers VA really knowing how to voice joker! He's quiet but yet so loud when he's mad etc... Everyone's VA did am amazing job 🫶 Violettas death was so upsetting and the little scene they made for her jn her newest costume made me CRYYY, she didn't even say anything about the "strange man" because she tought she did the wrong in the so called performance ☹️ Murro was so kind to her it made me BAWL! He's so sweet I cannot express how much this made me love him! He literally took the blame for not watching Vio and her death 😭In the end Sergei was the villian and I don't really like how people say Joker is the villian, yea he killed Violetta and that was NOT OKAY 😭 but all he tried to do was protect Margie but that harmed her and him as well since she was taking advantage of Weepys kindness towards her 💔 They all were done so wrong 🙁 the story made me cry and feel so bad for everyone EXCEPT SERGEI! And the little scenes they made were Mike finally realized how he never went trough any pain and everyone else did made me cry! Especially Jokers and Vios scene where she said "I'm sorry" AAAA I love this story so much 😭 Netease did an amazing job at animating and writing the story‼️

With some of the experiment notes there is good or bad news about Violetta. She may actually have been revived by Burke "Percy" style and participated as a hunter in a later game. It would explain her new and deadly mechanical limbs and her malicious behaviour.
The detail of Vio also not having her prosthetics hurts, because it feels like she believes she'd be able to perform without them and then people would actually like her

I was also confused about why mike said he created the whole game but I assume he just meant that he started orchestrating a way to catch weepy once they were in the arena. But it's still frustrating cuz he worded it to sound like he knew what would happen the whole time, which doesn't make sense because yeah he did seem surprised about the playbill and stuff. But I think he only knew because Marg took advantage of weepy's "love" for her and sold him out to mike and murro and that's how they knew they could catch him later.

when the second part released i played it the second i could and honestly, all i could say was just WOW. this story was so, so so amazing and i really can't wait to see if they do more stories like this going forward with the other games in future. i've never felt so in love and compelled by characters before until seeing this story, like i enjoyed ashes of memory too but hullabaloo was just way more enjoyable with its storytelling in my opinion! and also, i've always generally been interested in weepy's character and seeing everything play out in this story along with the voice actor that played him was just so perfect, it brought tears to my eyes 😭🫶 weepy's voice actor delivered perfectly (they all did, for that matter!!!)

Ever since we properly got to see how to decode a cipher machine, it makes sense who has harder time to decode. Someone said Helena is super smart and that’s why she is fastest decoder. Meanwhile if it was idv survivor I would have 10% decoding debuff once cipher hits like.. 30% progress or something. I get confused easily 😭😭 I’d recite my abc over and over
i remember when little girl, nightmare, and orpheus came out at the same time, it was like peak idv. like zeez, if you ask anyone that day what it was like, i'm sure they would say it was idv history. along with this event, i just know it's going to be talked about. like a "you just had to be there" moment. never ask a idv fan what happen on november 20-21th 2024.
This story reminded me why I even started liking IDV in the first place. This story was just insane. I went into this thinking “It’s probably going to be okay, but I don’t really care too much about these characters.” Not even joking the MOMENT I saw Violetta I literally loved her so much, and they somehow made me attached these characters I never even cared about in the span of 2 story quests. Like Violetta’s death was genuinely devastating, it made me feel things. And Margaretha’s death? Jokers insane voice acting? The entire dynamic between all the characters?? Like I was blown away by this. I joined IDV because of the Little Nightmares crossover, mainly because I’m a huge fan of the series (and the biggest Six defender). But I actually found myself interested in the story they had established in Ashes of Memory, the strange creepy mystery of it all was really alluring to me. I was a bit bummed that the story didn’t really have much after ashes, but I was super curious to see what happened. Over time, it started to feel more like a dress up game than anything, and it felt like they kind of lost sight of the story that they were telling. This story just absolutely blew me away, the storytelling, foreshadowing, symbolism, and characterization is amazing. Like I felt impacted by their deaths and it’s insanely tragic. Violetta’s characterization hit especially close to home for me. I see a lot of myself in her as someone who was recently diagnosed with Autism, and seeing her get repeatedly brushed away by friends with something she was truly passionate about was kind of crushing. The way that she ends up hurting Mike without even realizing it, and getting scared when she realized she made a mistake. Her death literally broke my heart, because at the end of the day she was just seen as a pawn. She wants to be kind and understanding but doesn’t understand why she’s being treated a certain way. Idk it’s just really painfully relatable. The climax of her death, as she reaches for something that was never possible. She spent the last moments of her life chasing that dream even as she was physically falling apart. Like oh my god that hurt. Also Margaretha’s death?? Hello?? She’s been clearly haunted by her abuse and experience with Sergi, so much that he ends up in her dreams almost every night saving her from drowning. It shows how there really is only two options for her: live and suffer, or die and be free. She barely had a choice in any of this with people constantly pressuring her. So when she sees Joker at the bridge, she can finally make her own decision. She realizes in the moment that it will always haunt her, and that she would never feel like she truly escaped. So she finally makes a choice not for anyone else but herself, and chooses to die. She could only find a true escape in death. Like oh my gosh the writers went to TOWN with this. The closing part of Mike walking around the circus as he finally realizes how much it hurt the people around him is insane. It’s closure in the most painful way possible. Anyway, sorry for the rant but this is literally my favorite story thing ever in Identity V. I’m so hyped for what the writers are cooking up in the future!
At first i actually wasn't interested in the Story just because i was also not interested in the journalist story, but omg im happy i decided to play the hullaballo story cause it is actually so well animated, written, voice acted!!🙌 I loved it very much and it defintley made me seek therapy! :,)

See… the story is so good that I still want to experience it again after my own play through, Santi’s stream and your 2hour long video that I by the way watched entirely in one go. Yet I’m not even a particular fan of any of the Hullabaloo characters…more of an AOM truther as I really like Norton, Melly, Alice. (also a Game 3 fan with Anne, Ganji for favorites.) And this…?? It ridiculously makes me except A LOT for the future. I REFUSE that the next chapter of AOM let me down like the first part because they can produce things like this ? so good and it’s a side story ?? HELLO ??? I am so jealous.
SAME- i played it myself and couldn’t get enough so i watched santis play through, hikarus playthrough, zeez’s (also in one sitting) AND dukos in the span of a couple hours i’m not ok

[Spoilers] To answer your questions at the end Zeez, I think what Mike meant , when he said that he staged everything, was only his "act" as Sergi and Murro's help with the music. I'm still not sure if Dancer was in on it, acting terrified so that Joker becomes angry and defensive on her behalf, and then revealing his "story" with his letter, in my opinion she just changed sides at the last moment to not be associated with Joker. Weepy called a "liar in the past and a liar now" maybe because he believes she deceived him from beginning to the end, and maybe in the past he felt she was just taking advantage of his love for her to get comfort, without getting anything in return for him ? Idk tbh. For the Hullabaloo fire, this story confirms that Joker was the one to do it. He probably did it to cover up his murder of Sergi, tired of seeing him with Natalie and abusing her. He's the figure in a black cape that Natalie saw that night, as well as the one Violetta mentionned while in the manor. And as Mike said, "always lurking in the shadows". Honestly, at the end of part 1, I never noticed his prosthetic leg under the cape, when he comes for Violetta the first time x') Speaking of her, poor baby 😭❤️ She's just a girl who wanted to perform, but couldn't because of how she was born and how people saw her 😢 She deserved way better, and especially not dying in the cold while hallucinating a better life... I guess at least she died happy... Idk if we'll get a surv version for her, since we'll never get anything else for the Hullabaloo story, poor baby wasn't even a real hunter 💔 As for Dancer... i'm no lore expert so i'm a bit confused too between her identities. I guess she wanted to get out as Margaretha instead of Natalie, and the "perfume" didn't help her have a clear mind about that, what i don't understand is her final scene, when she says she's not going back (as Natalie ?), and when underwater (Kingdom Hearts let's gooo) she hears Joker/Sergi telling her to become Natalie again ? Idk it wasn't clear to me. And the end ;;; Mike willing to end all of the circus suffering by burning with it rip... You see him stab his juggling balls because he's putting explosives everywhere so the fire spreads to the entire circus, and maybe using the fireworks as the way to light it all up ? And poor Murro has to watch it all... Anyway, i loved (re)watching the story with you Zeez, i hope next stories will be of this quality too ! 🎉
margie was always having other people control her life ('natalie' was her name when she joined the circus, her original "real" name was natasha), and she realized that if she escaped she'd still be tied to the circus and her identity as natalie so she chooses her own way out as margaretha!\

Violetta is so scary in game, but so cute in suvivor form
I LOVE THIS STORY AND I ALMOST CRIED!! There are a lot of hidden meanings in this story and I believe that the perfume had the hallucination dr@gs, the perfume bottle had the initials’VN’ for Vera indicates that the circus group arrived at the manor sometime after Vera’s game not sure tho.
i don’t know if anyone here’s a marvel fan, but the way this story is told and showing margie falling repeatedly reminded me of the agatha all along lilia épisode. “i was falling”. sorry but this is just perfect idv. very tragic, the voice acting- phenomenal, animation amazing, the SCORE the story. i’m still thinking about it. i’m a person who loves analysis and idv fed us well aahhh ahhh i’m gonna do a character analysis just cause when i’m done i’ll put it here i just can’t like i’m actually so excited
This was such a good story! It’s so good and showcases everything that happened! We don’t get vague clues about what happens. We don’t just sleep and then Violetta is dead, we see Weeping lure her. My favorite part was the breakdown Weeping had at the end. He has nothing left so he just breaks and lays into everyone. He also makes Mike realize that Hullabaloo wasn’t the paradise he thought it was. The scene also made me wish we still had chainsaw Clown. The rocket is cool, but a chainsaw is cooler. He literally has animations for the chainsaw and (little known fact) if you’re carrying a survivor and attack as Clown, it plays a faint chainsaw sound. I hope we get stories of this level for every game. The diary entries are nice, but they’re still really vague.

The voice acting was so well done, it honestly pains me that netease doesn't if barely credits their VA's. Literally have to go on a witch hunt to appreciate who voice them 😭 But they honestly did so well with this story, they all deserved better fr.

I literally yelled to female dancer "DONT DO IT, DO YOU WANT TO END LIKE PHOS?! LOOSING THEIR ARMS?" but damn... Violetta just wanted to perform and be normal like the rest (can I say this is so phosphophyllite with wanting to fight like the rest-) I'm used to sad stories under Netease, but... It always hurts

This is so well done, the story was trully amazing. I was never really into hullabaloo story and even didnt like some characters but this event made me so interested on it. The voice acting was SO good, the details, the way the events happens, its really amazing This made me LOVE all the characters, of course im mad at Weepy, but they built his story and everyones elses stories so well that i adore them. It made me love Nathalie, at the beggining she was one of my least favorite characters but the way they made her story and her end was so significant that i adore her and feel so sad for her. Violeta made me feel sad too, she was so sweet and pretty. Mikes whole situation was so amazing to see and Murro... sniff... he is so sweet and makes me cry to know he wanted freedom. Now, as an animation student my teachers told me that one of the hardest things to do is the acting of the character. And they did an amazing jib on the animation, the small details of jokers walk, his body behavior and his hands, Violeta when she gets scared, the way mikes posture show his confident personality, murro watching the fire... everything is so well done. One of the best things to express emotions on your characters are the eyes and unlike ashes of memory, they have button eyes. Which is cool to see how well done they showed their emotions without having "eyes" just by using their gestures and expresions AAAAAAAAAA this is trully one of the best things idv has made besides luchino
It is interesting with female dancer fate. But for me I’d describe it more as depressing. Like you said, Natalie herself was never able to move on. And finally during that scene of the river, I believe Natalie realized she could never make a decision for herself as Natalie. It could only be done as Margie.. as she was drowning her past was still clinging to her, calling out to Natalie. If she was in mental state of thinking herself as Natalie, i seriously think she’d never be at peace even after death. That’s why it makes me sad to see her smile peacefully at Joker saying “I’m never going back” and jump. In that moment I think she probably felt happy, happy to make a decision for herself as Margie. Someone not tied down by past trauma. Someone not controlled by Sergi. It’s sad. And it’s one of the only scene that gave me chills.
I skipped all of the stuff, decided not to at the circus cutscenes and it still gave me chills, and I didnt even know about the lore. No game had this kinda effect on me, damn this is well made

@@Vespern-3-n honestly everyone in the story was guilty in some way or another (except violetta, which is why i think she was killed off first in order for the performance to work, sort of like a sacrificial lamb). While some actions are worse than others, all of them have very morally complex actions. I can never defend Weepy for what he did to Violetta, but I can recognize that in the beginning he wasn’t all that bad. After all, he was kind according to the lore before Sergi came in

It was always Sergei. *He* was always Sergei, the man he hated most in the entire world apart from himself. Hullabaloo is really a tale of pure misfortune. In a way the circus took everything away from everyone in the end

His only wish was FREEDOM. He wanted to be free from Hullabaloo, from the abuse and whispers. He hated the place, but never the people. He’s very caring toward everyone, and it was always like that (during Joker’s crash out he didn’t say a word towards Murro - he had no words to say, as Murro was always kind and understanding).
And now, that happy boy Mike that sees Bernard in him is no more, oh so lovely Violetta is no more, Natalie and Joker are no more, Hullabaloo is no more. He is free. He has found his freedom IN THEIR DEATHS. THAT IS NOT THE FREEDOM HE WISHED FOR.
This is why his letters are so depressing, so stupidly heavy and he just WISHES he dies and joins them, Hullabaloo once more - somewhere beyond the hurt.
I cannot with how this funky old dude riding a boar is written, it’s downright CRUEL to make him such a great character.

Margies story is such a great example of the cycle of abuse especially the part where she died how she had to find a escape for margie not Natalie and how margies escape was her jumping into the lake that goes through lake side her home town and when she says “im not going back” ITS ALL SO GOOD her seeing weepy as Sergei weepy becoming the very thing he hated all of margies dreams where she in the water and sergie is calling out to her and in her final moments the same thing happens with weepy but she doesn’t swim towards him she accepts her death with a smile on her face because her life is finally in her hands she gets to decide her death literally started crying when it happened
No one’s bringing it up but I just love everything about Violetta’s story and her characterization, even outside of the event.
She was born without limbs which made her parents discard her and allowed to be taken into a freakshow as the main performance. When she lost popularity and was thrown away for a second time, that’s when she decided to get the spider prosthetics and become the way she is now. The thing that makes that so sad to me is that it’s a decision clearly made in the mindset of “This is how I can become the most popular freakshow act” and not “This is how I can become a popular actor” which is shown to be her actual goal in life. But she doesn’t believe that anyone would ever pay attention to her in that regard, so she chooses the spider option. This, in the end, leads to her being ostracized more and made fun both within and out of the circus. She wasn’t even a popular figure in hullabaloo as seen in the beginning when the actual popular acts (Mike, Margie) don’t even recognize who she is at first.
This is what makes Joker, the only other disabled character at the circus, killing her so much worse to me. He was also ostracized for his disability, but instead of finding camaraderie with Violetta for this, he starts to resent her and doesn’t even view her as a person by the end of it. He sees Violetta as just another obstacle in the way of his and Natalie’s happy ending and talks about her death like an afterthought, something he only thinks of due to its importance to others.
TLDR Violetta makes me crazy, I’m so glad this event showed off her story to more players but I wish she got better. (Also surv Violetta when)

THIS, she only ever wanted to be an actor. Seeing her vision of her getting her wish, but without her disability hurt because she was practically raised on that being the reason she wasn't getting her dream.

i am becoming joker’s no1 defender because everyone mischaracterizes him sooo much even though he has arguably some of the most traumatic experiences, alongside violetta and margie
it doesn’t say in this story but when joker was in the circus his role was basically to be the laughing stock, he was humiliated, thrown rotten eggs at and laughed at
sure, it was part of the performance, but he hated it, and took huge tolls on his mental health
and then of course sergei and margie came, and sergei stole the spotlight from him
he obviously took interest in margie and we know what happened, but also a thing that goes sorta unnoticed is that sergei also broke jokers prosthetic leg. and this also mirrors later when he does what he did to violetta and broke her legs. throughout this story he’s basically just becoming the one person he hated the most. with him taking Sergei’s makeup, to everyone calling him, margie hallucinating about him, and up to violetta’s death.
i do think margie also had manipulated him, whether intentional or not, i could see either way, but it IS canonical that she used him to escape her situation when she didn’t have any feelings
joker would comfort her, sit besides her bed to help her sleep, he knows how to cook her favorite food
and she took all of that to her advantage even since the circus days and blatantly betrayed him
i sorta hate the scene where they are arguing in the room and she says something along the lines of “we need to escape this place… i need YOU, joker. goodnight”
to me personally i feel like this was perhaps unintentionally giving joker the go ahead to finish off violetta
granted, he DID genuinely believe that killing her was the only way to move on with the performance and escape, which it was, it definitely was not cuz he hated her or anything because mike or murro even says how the killer didn’t want to kill her themselves
in some sort of way he still did care, otherwise he wouldn’t have used hallucinations instead of straight up killing her
i do think his breaking point was margie turning on him last second even though his only goal was to protect her, and DESPITE that he still goes back to her and chases after her until she inevitably decides to end her life
in the new portrait frames it indicated their deaths too, margie is surround by water, Mike is surrounded by fire, violetta is laying down peacefully, murro is the only one with his eyes open to show that he lived
and although not shown, it’s implied joker ended his life as well by jumping in the water for her too after he escaped, because he is also surrounded by water,
he makes me so sad, man.

So maybe he just hated her from the beginning ? That’s something that I think of . Maybe he sees himself in her so he hates her because he hates himself (I’m overthinking this)
@@AtheCupdefinitely could be wrong but i wouldn’t doubt that hostility just meant his actions towards her in the end, hostility usually does indicate some sort of hatred, but at the core it just means antagonism which usually results in conflict
i don’t think it’s his genuine feelings, but just the fact that he did kill her especially pretty brutally
he had no reason to hate her, when everyone was reacting to her death, he definitely seemed heartless but really was just doing a performance
in the rhyme it said how the killer must “blame the sun” which he did and was just keeping up the performance to keep the game going
i bet he was pretty neutral about her in general, but obviously his love for margie overcame anything and everything else

Margeretha was taking advantage of weeping clown for safety, just like in the first part of the story she said she would play along with sergei! Until she can be free, theres a line of dialouge from murro that says natalie is a horrible actor, jokers other line during the tent scene was something along the lines of being the only one to believe her preformance because he loves her and in that moment her taking the side of the morton brothers was an act of betrayal..everyone could see she was using him. But even in the end margies hallucinations got the better of her, envisioning joker as smiley face and weeping clown. She takes her own agency back and takes her life as a final act of independance and freedom.
I love the whole cast, i think we can all pin this down to blaming orpheus to be honest, he takes people who are vulenrable and makes them do these crazy things..drugs them etc. Its so sick, every character potrayed in this event could be empathized with even if theyre actions were unjust (joker, mike) but thats the beauty of idv..most characters are morally grey, and most are those who are on the brink of emotional breakdowns.

I finally finished the story yesterday and omg I need to put this out here.
Margaretha and Joker are so very Romeo and Juliet coded, with one taking their life and the other following after. They're also represented as the sun and moon, which was interesting because Joker is the sun while Margie is the moon. You'd think with how much of Joker's world revolves around Margie, it'd be the other way around, but it makes a lot of sense when you think about it more. Joker is the sun, warm and passionate. He sets himself ablaze to shine light upon the one he loves, till he burns out. Margie is the moon, distant yet bright. She shines, always so close yet so far. She lives with the light Joker gives her, the freedom he granted her through Sergei's death. However, she can never escape the memories of Sergei, her original sun, the one who burned her.
Murro and Mike are, obviously, characterized as the prince and his knight. In a way, it's sweet. In stories, the prince and their knight are close, possessing a brotherly relationship. Mike, the naive prince, was oblivious to the suffering of his people (the other members). Murro, the knight, was aware and suffered too, running away with help from Mike. Ironic, the naive prince protects the knight instead of the other way around. When Mike's eyes are opened to everything, whether he had first turned away, pretended to be blind, or sincerely hadn't understood the situation, it hurt him to his core. The friends and family, the place he called home, was all a cruel performance, a beautiful lie. It's why, once again, he sets Murro free, telling him to go out before him. For Violetta, I can't think of the perfect representation that's obviously connected to her. I think the best one I can think of is a star. Although that's more closely tied to Mike, it also makes quite a bit of sense for Vio. Since the beginning, Vio has wanted to be one of the performers, the ones who were adored. She was treated more like an attraction, an animal in a cage. All she's wanted was to be treated normally, to be loved like the others. She practiced and practiced, doing whatever it took. The brightest stars die the quickest, exhausting their flames. Her final performance was the most brilliant, making her death all the more saddening. It was her first and last show as herself, receiving the attention she wanted the way she had wished all her life. Even that, too, was only a hallucination. Only death could be so kind to her, faintly reminiscent of the story of the little match girl. Much like Joker, they're someone who cares too much, inevitably fizzling out in the vastness of space.

So if she had stayed she would have been another sacrifice to the Gods. Yidhra (Dream Witch) and Hastur, (Feaster" by the way.
@shahriarshan2741 In his Experimental File, it's said he followed Nat in the way he died, meaning he jumped into the lake to be with her. If you look at the Custom Portraits you can buy, you'll see Nat & Joker both in water, signifying their fates like the others showing theirs too.

As for Mike.. now thinking more on it. I do see why he was really oblivious and naive to the pain hullabaloo members were experiencing. Having arrived there as a child and to be conditioned to view the circus as positive for a long time, of course it will be hard to imagine the negatives of it. It would be hard to break out of the illusion. And my feelings haven’t changed on why he blew everything up. It’s super obvious to see he couldn’t handle the truth and guilt of hullabaloo circus. Super depressing. It doesn’t excuse the lashing out but it does explain why. And it leaves you with complicated feelings. Its beautiful
What’s crazy was that Baron deRoss’ initial experiment design favored Joker to be the last survivor. But because of his severe inferiority complex, his emotions became extreme enough to resort to drastic measures even without the drugs.

Murro did survive the game before being put into another game. Murro was also Bernard’s (Ringmaster of Hullabaloo) nephew and he adopted Mike when he was abandoned by his parents. Mike helped Murro escape the circus by faking his death because of how horribly he was treated. Sergi put chemicals in Joker’s makeup which burned his face. Also Margie’s original name is Natasha and she changed it to Natalie when she joined the circus then Margaretha after the hullabaloo massacre. 1. Yes, all of the story (Hullabaloo as we’re speaking about) are all real. Mike did blew himself up (and died), Margie drowned herself, Joker is heavily implied to had also unchained himself and went to drown himself to be with Margie, and yes, Murro is the only survivor of game 8 (Hullabaloo event/game).
2. These games are all pretty much experiments set up by Orpheus himself to test his chemicals onto other people (he usually blackmail them via letters to get them into the manor, or promise them something to get them there).
3. Murro (for some unexplained reasons) decided to stay back at the manor instead of leaving. Which leads him into game 9 (with Naib-mercenary, Kurt-exploder, William-forward and Servai-magician as the other participants)

4. The perfume that Margie used in chapter 1 is actually hallucinogenic drug putted there by Orpheus. He wanted to test them out on various participant (Margie being the target in this case), (the perfume is actually made by Vera, the perfumer! Orpheus purchased them because of their hallucinogenic properties made by Vera herself). They causes intense emotions or spiked anxiety, which causes the user to see visions (these reactions may vary depending on Orpheus intention with each game). And yes, he will write novels about each game’s deaths and publishes them as novels. (/bastard).
5. For Violetta, I think that Mad Eye founded her body and restored her into soul weaver?
Since he works as one of the staff on the manor and probably experimented on her in order to turn her into a hunter.

THE STORY IS SO GOOD! I love the way you could tell what the characters were feeling! Its so cool to see how they animated the story and everything, the graphics are amazing! One of my favorite things about the whole story is Jokers VA really knowing how to voice joker! He's quiet but yet so loud when he's mad etc... Everyone's VA did am amazing job 🫶 Violettas death was so upsetting and the little scene they made for her jn her newest costume made me CRYYY, she didn't even say anything about the "strange man" because she tought she did the wrong in the so called performance ☹️ Murro was so kind to her it made me BAWL! He's so sweet I cannot express how much this made me love him! He literally took the blame for not watching Vio and her death 😭In the end Sergei was the villian and I don't really like how people say Joker is the villian, yea he killed Violetta and that was NOT OKAY 😭 but all he tried to do was protect Margie but that harmed her and him as well since she was taking advantage of Weepys kindness towards her 💔 They all were done so wrong 🙁 the story made me cry and feel so bad for everyone EXCEPT SERGEI! And the little scenes they made were Mike finally realized how he never went trough any pain and everyone else did made me cry! Especially Jokers and Vios scene where she said "I'm sorry" AAAA I love this story so much 😭 Netease did an amazing job at animating and writing the story‼️

With some of the experiment notes there is good or bad news about Violetta. She may actually have been revived by Burke "Percy" style and participated as a hunter in a later game. It would explain her new and deadly mechanical limbs and her malicious behaviour.

I was also confused about why mike said he created the whole game but I assume he just meant that he started orchestrating a way to catch weepy once they were in the arena. But it's still frustrating cuz he worded it to sound like he knew what would happen the whole time, which doesn't make sense because yeah he did seem surprised about the playbill and stuff. But I think he only knew because Marg took advantage of weepy's "love" for her and sold him out to mike and murro and that's how they knew they could catch him later.

when the second part released i played it the second i could and honestly, all i could say was just WOW. this story was so, so so amazing and i really can't wait to see if they do more stories like this going forward with the other games in future. i've never felt so in love and compelled by characters before until seeing this story, like i enjoyed ashes of memory too but hullabaloo was just way more enjoyable with its storytelling in my opinion! and also, i've always generally been interested in weepy's character and seeing everything play out in this story along with the voice actor that played him was just so perfect, it brought tears to my eyes 😭🫶 weepy's voice actor delivered perfectly (they all did, for that matter!!!)

This story reminded me why I even started liking IDV in the first place. This story was just insane. I went into this thinking “It’s probably going to be okay, but I don’t really care too much about these characters.” Not even joking the MOMENT I saw Violetta I literally loved her so much, and they somehow made me attached these characters I never even cared about in the span of 2 story quests. Like Violetta’s death was genuinely devastating, it made me feel things. And Margaretha’s death? Jokers insane voice acting? The entire dynamic between all the characters?? Like I was blown away by this.
I joined IDV because of the Little Nightmares crossover, mainly because I’m a huge fan of the series (and the biggest Six defender). But I actually found myself interested in the story they had established in Ashes of Memory, the strange creepy mystery of it all was really alluring to me. I was a bit bummed that the story didn’t really have much after ashes, but I was super curious to see what happened. Over time, it started to feel more like a dress up game than anything, and it felt like they kind of lost sight of the story that they were telling.
This story just absolutely blew me away, the storytelling, foreshadowing, symbolism, and characterization is amazing. Like I felt impacted by their deaths and it’s insanely tragic.
Violetta’s characterization hit especially close to home for me. I see a lot of myself in her as someone who was recently diagnosed with Autism, and seeing her get repeatedly brushed away by friends with something she was truly passionate about was kind of crushing. The way that she ends up hurting Mike without even realizing it, and getting scared when she realized she made a mistake. Her death literally broke my heart, because at the end of the day she was just seen as a pawn. She wants to be kind and understanding but doesn’t understand why she’s being treated a certain way. Idk it’s just really painfully relatable. The climax of her death, as she reaches for something that was never possible. She spent the last moments of her life chasing that dream even as she was physically falling apart. Like oh my god that hurt.
Also Margaretha’s death?? Hello?? She’s been clearly haunted by her abuse and experience with Sergi, so much that he ends up in her dreams almost every night saving her from drowning. It shows how there really is only two options for her: live and suffer, or die and be free. She barely had a choice in any of this with people constantly pressuring her. So when she sees Joker at the bridge, she can finally make her own decision. She realizes in the moment that it will always haunt her, and that she would never feel like she truly escaped. So she finally makes a choice not for anyone else but herself, and chooses to die. She could only find a true escape in death. Like oh my gosh the writers went to TOWN with this.
The closing part of Mike walking around the circus as he finally realizes how much it hurt the people around him is insane. It’s closure in the most painful way possible.
Anyway, sorry for the rant but this is literally my favorite story thing ever in Identity V. I’m so hyped for what the writers are cooking up in the future!

See… the story is so good that I still want to experience it again after my own play through, Santi’s stream and your 2hour long video that I by the way watched entirely in one go. Yet I’m not even a particular fan of any of the Hullabaloo characters…more of an AOM truther as I really like Norton, Melly, Alice. (also a Game 3 fan with Anne, Ganji for favorites.)

To answer your questions at the end Zeez,
I think what Mike meant , when he said that he staged everything, was only his "act" as Sergi and Murro's help with the music. I'm still not sure if Dancer was in on it, acting terrified so that Joker becomes angry and defensive on her behalf, and then revealing his "story" with his letter, in my opinion she just changed sides at the last moment to not be associated with Joker. Weepy called a "liar in the past and a liar now" maybe because he believes she deceived him from beginning to the end, and maybe in the past he felt she was just taking advantage of his love for her to get comfort, without getting anything in return for him ? Idk tbh.
For the Hullabaloo fire, this story confirms that Joker was the one to do it. He probably did it to cover up his murder of Sergi, tired of seeing him with Natalie and abusing her. He's the figure in a black cape that Natalie saw that night, as well as the one Violetta mentionned while in the manor. And as Mike said, "always lurking in the shadows". Honestly, at the end of part 1, I never noticed his prosthetic leg under the cape, when he comes for Violetta the first time x')
Speaking of her, poor baby 😭❤️ She's just a girl who wanted to perform, but couldn't because of how she was born and how people saw her 😢 She deserved way better, and especially not dying in the cold while hallucinating a better life... I guess at least she died happy... Idk if we'll get a surv version for her, since we'll never get anything else for the Hullabaloo story, poor baby wasn't even a real hunter 💔
As for Dancer... i'm no lore expert so i'm a bit confused too between her identities. I guess she wanted to get out as Margaretha instead of Natalie, and the "perfume" didn't help her have a clear mind about that, what i don't understand is her final scene, when she says she's not going back (as Natalie ?), and when underwater (Kingdom Hearts let's gooo) she hears Joker/Sergi telling her to become Natalie again ? Idk it wasn't clear to me.
And the end ;;; Mike willing to end all of the circus suffering by burning with it rip... You see him stab his juggling balls because he's putting explosives everywhere so the fire spreads to the entire circus, and maybe using the fireworks as the way to light it all up ? And poor Murro has to watch it all...
Anyway, i loved (re)watching the story with you Zeez, i hope next stories will be of this quality too ! 🎉

This was such a good story! It’s so good and showcases everything that happened! We don’t get vague clues about what happens. We don’t just sleep and then Violetta is dead, we see Weeping lure her. My favorite part was the breakdown Weeping had at the end. He has nothing left so he just breaks and lays into everyone. He also makes Mike realize that Hullabaloo wasn’t the paradise he thought it was. The scene also made me wish we still had chainsaw Clown. The rocket is cool, but a chainsaw is cooler. He literally has animations for the chainsaw and (little known fact) if you’re carrying a survivor and attack as Clown, it plays a faint chainsaw sound. I hope we get stories of this level for every game. The diary entries are nice, but they’re still really vague.

The voice acting was so well done, it honestly pains me that netease doesn't if barely credits their VA's. Literally have to go on a witch hunt to appreciate who voice them 😭

I usually am not too invested in the stories but this really hooked me in! Since I’m fairly new to IDV it makes me think about what other lore I’ve missed from past events
I literally yelled to female dancer "DONT DO IT, DO YOU WANT TO END LIKE PHOS?! LOOSING THEIR ARMS?" but damn... Violetta just wanted to perform and be normal like the rest (can I say this is so phosphophyllite with wanting to fight like the rest-)

if netease uses the tons of money they get from the gambling aspect of IDV to create the beautiful, lore-filled, manor game related stories like they did with this, i'd be happy to start whaling my life savings on this game as well. it was INCREDIBLE

i cant stop thinking about the story and ESPECIALLY the ending… everything was so good and theres so much parallels and symbolism and everything i feel like im going insane i was never much of a hullabaloo fan before (just bc i never game them any thought) but now i love every single one of them (even joker) i cant wait for the game 0 story AHHHH im going crazy
This is so well done, the story was trully amazing. I was never really into hullabaloo story and even didnt like some characters but this event made me so interested on it.

This made me LOVE all the characters, of course im mad at Weepy, but they built his story and everyones elses stories so well that i adore them. It made me love Nathalie, at the beggining she was one of my least favorite characters but the way they made her story and her end was so significant that i adore her and feel so sad for her. Violeta made me feel sad too, she was so sweet and pretty. Mikes whole situation was so amazing to see and Murro... sniff... he is so sweet and makes me cry to know he wanted freedom.
Now, as an animation student my teachers told me that one of the hardest things to do is the acting of the character. And they did an amazing jib on the animation, the small details of jokers walk, his body behavior and his hands, Violeta when she gets scared, the way mikes posture show his confident personality, murro watching the fire... everything is so well done. One of the best things to express emotions on your characters are the eyes and unlike ashes of memory, they have button eyes. Which is cool to see how well done they showed their emotions without having "eyes" just by using their gestures and expresions AAAAAAAAAA this is trully one of the best things idv has made besides luchino

It is interesting with female dancer fate. But for me I’d describe it more as depressing.
Like you said, Natalie herself was never able to move on. And finally during that scene of the river, I believe Natalie realized she could never make a decision for herself as Natalie. It could only be done as Margie.. as she was drowning her past was still clinging to her, calling out to Natalie. If she was in mental state of thinking herself as Natalie, i seriously think she’d never be at peace even after death. That’s why it makes me sad to see her smile peacefully at Joker saying “I’m never going back” and jump. In that moment I think she probably felt happy, happy to make a decision for herself as Margie. Someone not tied down by past trauma. Someone not controlled by Sergi. It’s sad. And it’s one of the only scene that gave me chills.
I skipped all of the stuff, decided not to at the circus cutscenes and it still gave me chills, and I didnt even know about the lore. No game had this kinda effect on me, damn this is well made
i think mike was stabbing his balls (lmao) because they had gunpowder in them, that’s what caused the circus to blow up like that
I also saw the storyboard stuff on Twitter!!! I didn’t expect you to share it here but it’s really nice to see! It’s always really interesting to see behind the scene stuff. It made me giggle when I saw they use reference of Barbie in swan lake dance for Violetta’s final scene… well for Violetta . It’s kinda heartbreaking 💔😭😭😭🙏 help
