Lacy is in my top 3 favourite songs on the album. The writing is so abstract yet perfectly captures the feelings of jealousy and how it consumes you and you begin to look down on yourself for it.
good dissection of lacy. admittedly not my favorite song on the album, but I like that the song is not really obvious of what it's about, and I've seen a lot of interesting interpretations.
Love the Olivia analyses! I think favorite crime off her debut album Sour is a great use of extended metaphor. Her song logical off Guts is sonically very similar, but more mature and probably about a different relationship, if you want to check these out
great analyzation of her lyrics and writing! Lacy grew on me, especially hearing the Tiny Desk concert acoustic version. i’d say another one of her song that is folksy and has a lot of metaphors is Favorite Crime from her debut album. another song that is more diaristic and introspective is The Grudge.
12:20 I think this could also be figurative, in a way that she hides from the situation (and all the other references too, like waking up = finally coming to an understanding etc) Great reaction as always 🤍
making the bed is one of my favorite songs so it's really nice to see someone dissect it and understand it fully. i would love to see you react to the whole album, but otherwise i think logical & the grudge are two other great songs you could react to. hope to see u react to more olivia soon 🤍
Lacy might be referring to Sabrina Carpenter, as she describes her as Bordot reincarnate. Sabrina has a song called "Skin" that was aimed at Olivia during the Joshua, Sabrina, and Olivia drama. I believe Olivia referenced the song when she said "bullets on skin."
Really love your analysis of her songs! Olivia is a phenomenal songwriter - she writes all of her own songs. Please analyze Logical, which is a call-back to Vampire. The Grudge is a call back to Logical so all 3 songs are connected. Please do all 3 together.
Love how you disect these songs. I was wondering if you are interested in doing a few songs from Noah Kahan. If you are I would love to hear what you think and your disection of his songs Orange Juice and Stick season.
Lacy sounds a lot like Sabrina Carpenter. Laces and ribbons are her aesthetic, she looks like Bardot and did a photoshoot as her, she has a perfume line called sweet tooth and people refer to her as an angel a lot (Taylor included), cause lets face it, she looks like one 😅
Love your channel and your breakdown of lyrics! I'd love to see your reaction to Noah Kahan's music. His entire Stick Season (+deluxe songs) album is amazing. It's a concept album with a connecting theme of the end of a relationship and the ties one has to their hometown, so I highly recommend listening to all of it in order. My top 5 from the album are Stick Season, Orange Juice, Growing Sideways, Your Gonna Go Far and The View Between Villages-Extended. Even if you don't film it, I for sure recommend you listen. But love your content, I'm definitely going to subscribe!

Please do, The Grudge by Olivia Rodrigo.

Thanks! Same :)

I feel like Lucy could be Olivia's curated public persona. She loves her for the fame, but hates the toxic aspects of that fake persona.
Ooooh I like this interpretation!
You should definitely react to logical, the grudge, favorite crime and enough for you😍
ooh, these are coming up a lot - definitely adding them to my lisssst ^.^
Wow, "Making the bed" is amazing

Ooh yes, definitely! Love this point ^.^

Logical and The Grudge!! Please…
These two have come up so often! Will definitely take a look

I was curious about this!

If love to see you dissect "i hope that ur okay" by Olivia. Beautifully poetic, and not one I've seen recommended often😊
Olivia took a poetry class last year and Lacy was originally a poem she did for an assignment
Yeah! I mention that at the start :) too fun

Oooh yes, he's been on my list for a while! Need to finally dive in :)
You should read Taylor’s poem “Why She Disappeared” if you haven’t already. It would be so interesting to dissect!
Awesome

Thanks Abby :') And yessss, Noah has been on my list for a while, but I need to get on it with listening to his songs, haha!
why do you look like leighton meester tho? you're giving blair waldorf vibes!🥹♥️
Oh well thanks!
