    Milt, the exhaust from the pony motor runs inside the main engine intake manifold to preheat the intake air. Over time this exhaust pipe degrades and can fail internally. If you have difficulty with cold starts this is one area to check.

      @@beginlivinglikeaboss I agree. I’m having a lot of fun with mine…. However my pony motor is tired and has a lot of crankshaft endplay. About 3/16 of an inch so I’m suspecting a spun main bearing.

    How often do you plan to change the quart of oil in the pony.

      Before the seal was replace i had to too it off all the time so never worried so much about changing. I'll change it every 2 or 3 starts. It is still clear on the stick.
