I wish old Phoenix and uncle Ray had met. They would be a badass comedy combo since Shields and Wright are ironic and sarcastic af respectively. Also, if you think of it, their behavior is kinda similar when it comes to mentoring. Ray is actually very smart and able to figure things out before Miles, but chooses to stay aside and watch, ready to interfere when the latter is stuck. As a co-councel in "Spirit of Justice" (the last case especially) Phoenix acts the same way, not leaving Apollo to struggle alone and helping him out, but still trusting him to fight on his own.
So, there might be a reason for this. Due to the lengthy and troubled development of PLvsPW, the series's B Team (who made AAI) were put in charge of making Dual Destinies. This same team became the new A Team, and also made SoJ. So it's likely they purposely wrote Nick and Ray to be "the same" in that regard.
Ever since they revealed Ray I wondered to myself on why he didn’t take care of miles after DL-6, but then I realized that Ray was only just 19 at the time and was still just a young man with no real job yet
@@propellerknightlol2308 Of the seven prosecutors that you face across the mainline AA games, four of them could not legally drink in the states when they got their badge, one of them was exactly legal drinking age, one of them became a prosecutor after an already successful career as a defense attorney AND a five-year coma (so honestly they might have gotten their ATTORNEY'S badge before legal drinking age), and the last one just hasn't shown enough information to interpret. Japanifornia (and Germany I suppose) do not care how old you are if you want to practice law.

I love Ray. He always surprises me with how competent he actually is, since you tend to forget all about him due to Miles doing all the heavy lifting... I read him with a bit of a softer voice than that. Kinda smooth and lackadaisical, but with a mature bluntness when serious times come around. He's the kinda person you'd want to just hang out with, or as he self describes, that one really cool Uncle.

He had the chance to include Mr. Shields since it's more or less his character but since he left Capcom in July 2020, a return seems even more unlikely.
I'm still mad about the fact they never translated it to english, i mean the game is awesome, best game mechanics, clever plots and some lovable characters. I wish they will create a trilogy but that will never happened cuz the AAI2 is discontinued.

SPOILER ALERT Danggggggg at first I thought he was a bad guy but then yeah some part of it is true since he's a defense attorney. But after that he seemed to be the coolest good guy around that even Edgeworth respected as well since he was his father's assistant.

These series characters were top notch. Badd, Gregory, Kay, Ray, Sebastian, Blaise, Courtney... They even made Franziska more likeable!

At first, I thought that Raymond was going to be the typical rival who has a grudge against us for something, or is different (I assumed it because he is a lawyer)
But as the cases progressed, I stopped seeing him that way, and I started thinking "This man would be a great partner for Nick."
I thought he would be the "evil lawyer" again, considering the previous lawyer in investigations 1 was evil
Now that we know his new dialogue, Saxo Fender is no more
I always liked his character, but now I can like him without feeling a little guilty about it!
