My dad would call the shop people take to get their cars to get repaired at a “garage”. I don’t hear people use that term much in that sense anymore. When I think of a RUclips channel and hear “garage” I think of someone working out of their garage. Which is what we both do.
@@JustMoparJoeGarages here in Australia are only service Centres, only for Services, 😂 your always got something interesting, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
I'm not a Mopar guy but always liked your channel because you don't constantly spew production numbers or worry about things being 100% factory correct. You build clean cars that I'm sure you and your friends enjoy driving.....and that's really all that matters.
Your channel was the first one I found when I first took an interest in dodge engines - because my Dad had always taken care of his - Ramcharger, Dart, New Yorker... I just wanted to know how he knew all that stuff, whatever 'stuff' meant. (at the time I thought vacuum was solely associated with carpeting). I was luckily to find your channel first (and not some other goofball) because it showed everything, every step, tool, reference book, Permatex flavor - and why. And no yelling, swearing... my Dad never did any of that either. Fast forward to now - a '77 warlock in the driveway, all original, and it runs pretty good - thanks to many of your videos.
I must confess I do like your content the Yankee accents are funny from different states even here in new Zealand im some down south we tend to roll the rs up north its quite different I chose grandadsjunk because I've heaps of junk lying around the place nothing gets finished and my grandchildren love mucking around here its a fun channel one of my grandsons did some editing and trying to teach me how to do it he really enjoys it I get where you're coming from keep up the good work brother
It's hard to quantify and a bit subjective to guess why certain channels reach the subscription levels they do and some don't. Everybody can relate to a garage, even if you don't have one (like myself). Speed shops, resto shops and the like are a different tier, ones most weekend wrenchers will never use. It's nice to view their content, but for the vast majority of viewers it's like viewing a show about yachts. It's just not most people's budgetary concern. I think what separates channels even when they all cover most of the same topics is knowledge and personality. A relatable personality, quirks, dedication to craft and achievable results seem to make a successful endeavor, no matter what your viewership goals were in the first place. RUclips is stuffed with car channels, it's nuts. I couldn't imagine being a content creator, it's a lot of work, and I appreciate the effort, many do. I think as long as you stay relatable people stick around. Cheers Joe.
Nice to break down groups, give a perspective and thoughts on the subject matter. JustMoparJoe is a great channel name for you. Seems totally on point for you Joe. Have a great day.👍🇺🇸👍
I'm not really a big Mopar guy but I really like your channel. I was watching one of your videos and saw that you had some kind of heat shield on your drag car that covered all around your carb. You think you could maybe show how you made it and how you mounted it? Thanks.
I appreciate that! I can probably do a short on that. Super simple design and it actually picks up time. Close to .05-.1 depending on 1/8th mile versus 1/4 mile.
I've been a Mopar guy all my life (I'm 60) so you and Jamie are my regular go-tos. I always "like" and try to comment because I know it helps ya out. Keep doing what you're doing. Perfect mix of paint and body restoration, engine and chassis tech, and racing.
This was a fun little break down. It took me a minute to finally run with a channel name, but in the end, went with "Garage" as I felt that could include a variety of things. And included the "T" as that's a big part of who I am. Obviously Mopar and drag racing are my main focus but I do like and participate in contests of SPEED and do want to expand my skill set somewhat into RESTORATION and FABRICATION and even attempt to provide entertainment. Just trying to avoid being the 🤡 show or something worse! 😂😂😂 Been watching your stuff for a few years now Joe and you're top tier brother! Keep it up!
Hi Joe, I'm a recent sub brought here from Jamie's channel, like your straight forward approach to your channel, plus the fact that my first car was a 69 Barracuda fastback bought in 1974 from a Plymouth dealer for $375, good paint/interior, 61k miles, miss that car!
Wow! Thanks for the support. Definitely sounds like a dream car. I love the looks of my barracuda, but it needs repainted. I love how much headroom I have!
So how roosters restoration came to be is I am very diverse on what we do here. Boats, outboards and mopars and a splash of racing. Some lifted truck stuff and tractors too. My skill set is welding and fab, body and painting and engine building. Plus fun. There is a brotherhood of youtubers here and just being a part of that is the fun. Not out to be big like you and Jamie but will always promote you guys. Been in the boat world sense I was 12 and at 13 racing hydro planes then at 16 painted and built my first car. Grew up on a ranch with no money and had to make do or make your own parts so to this day I do just that. My racing and those I met along the way like ronny sox and countless others shaped me and taught me. I do know a thing or three but not going to run my mouth about it. Be humble and learn from everyone. Then put them on the trailer😂 Joe , Jamie id like a son to me so he gets the number one spot but you sir get number 2. That's out of thousands of channels. Been here since 2004 so being number 2 car channel is because you do a great job teaching and you relate to all the values I hold dear too. I never miss a video.❤
I usually drop what I'm doing to watch you. And if I don't know what something is I don't hesitate to ask. And of course I didn't agree with you well more than likely I would go check somewhere else. I watch Ed's Machine, Rick Seeman, and speaking of Rick, if I were able money wise I would buy one or two or more Hemi 's from him. Mostly Builders and Machinists, Powell Machine and Powell Cams Daniel is located in South Carolina family owned and operated. Uncle Tony's Garage of course.😊 Enjoy your weekend Joe.
I always enjoy and learn from your channel. I am subbed, but will do a better job sharing your channel… it is worth anyone’s time who are I to what you do! I have no doubt your channel will keep growing based on your integrity alone… and of course the knowledge and fun is priceless!

I appreciate your support. Jamie has some strong supporters that might appreciate the opportunity. He’s also good at getting work done and videos cranked out.
I love your channel man. I'm just in the " fix junk as I have time" category😂 haven't had much time lately tho so I've been kinda slow on RUclips lately . Hope you're channel continues to grow. You deserve it.
I really appreciate you content Joe. You’re out there doing the same thing that most of us are doing, enjoying our hobby to the best of our ability despite limited resources. And you do it well…
How you want everything done right when you build an engine was what hooked me first . Next I discovered what a really good guy and family man you are . Since then I’ve watched you fix just about everything on old Mopars and fix them right . I look almost every day to see if you have a new video . I know you’ve got some coming up that I don’t want to miss !
Love your channel Joe; not just because I’m a Mopar guy as I truly appreciate all old cars, but more because you show the average working guy’s different ways of doing things and take them through that process along with you. You share a lot of wisdom and knowledge with others and that…is how we all learn! The only problem I find with any of my favorite channels like yours, DDG, UTG, etc…is that I find myself watching more than I actually do 😂! One day I got caught up on all my channels and that evening I made the comment to a friend, “I’m tired.” He said-all you’ve done is watch RUclips all day😄! I said, “well yeah but it’s like I lived through those jobs right there with them.” 🤣
This is a good video Joe. I came across your channel a little over 3 - 3.5 years ago. You were working on a 360. I think for a blue duster. But I was looking at what I could do for a 360 to put in my old Demon. About the same time I found 318willrun. He was working on a 318 & 360’s for some dusters. More inexpensive ways. This is how I found many other in this circle. I missed the first NNN. (Heart operation got in the way) My work on my cars has slowed down drastically. But I just drove to the 2023 NNN as a spectactor. I had a great time meeting everyone. You all have given me inspiration to get to work on my old car & truck. And everyone has been so kind when I ask questions about things I haven’t done before, because I did them 50 years ago and things were very different then. I have a friend who is going to help me with the heavy work so I can get some videos out here. Mine is more of here is the progress on my truck and car, and maybe how I am relearning painting or welding. Hopefully they will be a little different than Duddie. Miss him. But my vehicles and going to be drivers. The Demon a little street and a little handeling and a little track time. Haven’t drag raced since 1969. Thanks for your knowledge and words of encouragement and advice. I will see you again at the 2024 NNN. Thank you Joe. 👍
I’ve only recently found your channel but you do outstanding work and share as good of information as anyone out there, I can’t believe you don’t have 10x the subscribers!
Growing up and being around automotive stuff the "Garage" was where folks built stuff at home and was a great place to congregate and work on anything that was the subject at the time and crack some cold ones, Laugh and throw jabs at each other having fun, the "Shop" was where they took them to pay for repairs but if you had a buddy working at a shop it could be an after hours gathering spot that some work could get done with permission of the shop owner, a "speed shop" was where they sold parts but also professionally installed and tuned the car for you if you opted for that (shop was in the back) and could be an after hours hangout spot but just for short visits, a "restoration" shop was where cars went in dilapidated and came out like new or close to it, an evening hangout could happen there also having a cold one with the painter and with all these places came with a phone call from the wife "where are you?" "I am at so and so's" will finish this beer and be on my way.
You seem genuine ,honest, meticulous , and you seem to do the best you can at the current task at hand. I like that attitude alot, enjoyed your tuning vid with the afr gauge. Some bigger channels are becoming very corporate , (buy my this, buy my that. ) IMO , don't become them. Best of luck.
Hey Joe, Tim here, YOU sir explained it well, and i got JMJ t-shirts for a REASON!!!..yes i'm a Poncho nerd, but i have come to REALLY enjoy ALL you do, ok, sometimes, ur engine stuff bugs me, cuz i'm an engine nerd, but overall, i think you have an AWESOME chanel, and i try to tell folks all the time!!....you have GREAT talent, and attention to detail, THATS the thing, attention to detail.......you incorporate a wide range of stuff (dif from others) and i follow Nick, and Tony, but u've always been cordial to me, i LOVE what u do, i wear my T-shirts PROUDLY!!!....i only hope it continues to grow!!!!.....i cud help in the engine dept, but i am CLUELESS, when it comes to ur resto/body work stuff.....NOT my forte.....engines are!!......i guess i'm just tryin to say, KEEP SLUGGIN!!!.my brother!! And i've been a sub'r for over a year.......i DIG IT!!!......ok, blabed enuf......u get my jist.....PEACE to you sir!!!
Agreed, then there are the guys that just love cars. Enjoy car shows, dabble in car racing, and watch RUclips videos to pick up skills to use on their own projects. Having a Channel also is a way to join a community and say hey I like what you’re doing with your channel. Here are some of my videos and this is what I like. ..And then they prove Bigfoot exists they get RICH 💰 💰💰
Jamie is how I found you, Joe - as well as Rocket also, of course. Tony is how I found Jamie.... See, the stuff I watch on YT are all real, not scripted, not contrived, no generated drama sorts of channels with personable hosts - not "personalities" or "influencers". You guys are the real deal and therefore very relatable. Works for me. 🙂 - Ed on the Ridge
Brother Joe, that was a great explanation of channel names. Also, it was very nice of you to call out some good channels. I have watched every one of them. At some point, I'd like to visit with you about the "how to set up a RUclips channel."
I think your channel covers a little of everything and it’s the best for me you do a very good job at everything you do you should be proud of yourself great channel I tell all my friends about your channel I don’t share I let the person I tell check it out and they can decide if it’s for them its definitely for me I like every video you have put out
Someone finally said what I’ve always thought about the speed shop RUclipsers het hem. Joe OB told you I’ve been a ford guy and race a mustang but since I started watching you and DDG I started falling for mopars and I’m finally going to check one out this weekend. I know it not the best year but it’s really nice a 72 challenge 340 4speed rally. Has rally dash and pistol grip I’m so excited. Thanks for all the information on these killer cars
You have a really good channel. I've learned a lot from you. Your channel is great for the average guy like me working in his garage. Your channel, Dead Dodge Garage and Junkerup are my go to's. Keep up the great work. Could you do a video on your preferred tools and shop equipment?
Thanks brother. Everyone has their own style. I have worked for a while with less expensive tools and stuff. I’m trying to add some better equipment for building engines and stuff that will make life easier.
I appreciate you. I got my education from growing up around car folks. Now i have a 2 car hobby when im not working. I dont care to watch anyones channel who has to cuss. I already have a education on that lol.
I had to drop the "mopar" in my channels name because I'm about to get a 24 f150 single cab with a whipple. Don't block me. 😂 I have a ton of footage I need to edit into a few videos.
No doubting your ability, buddy! You’re one of the outliers of the normal pack. Making your own way and blazing your own trail! Watch out for those Productions guys 🤣
Love ya Joe but the naming doesn't really adhere anymore. The categories still apply with a LOT of crossovers like a Venn diagram, the reason for this is to try to reach and appeal to as many viewer types as possible. Yours is a crossover of 3 different categories, mostly resto work, building , and racing. I watch roughly 12 different automotive channels consistently with another 20 or so intermittently. Don't worry, you're still my favorite and Im not cheating on you I promise! So far I can say I see these variants: the racing guys (cletus mcfarland, steve morris, nugget garage, you), the builders (edsmachine, nugget garage, steve morris, skid factory, you), the resto shops (graveyard cars, mighty car mods, you), the mr fix it dudes, the car world enthusiasts/entertainers (anything motor trend, mighty car mods, Jay Leno, etc), the guys doing dumb sh*t in cars (cletus mcfarland, whislin diesel, a helluvalot more of these types than any other sadly), and then the guys who are just dumb shi*ts and have automotive themes (whistlin diesel straight leads this and champions it). I'm just giving some examples of how they all splash over the different types and styles but the one thing that they all have different is a unique theme to their channel. Cletus Mcfarland for example has a goofy approach to racing and building. MCM has a thing where they want to show people that its possible to do mods yourself (mostly anyways, they branched out a lot when they got a major automotive company supporting them). And still out of all of them you having the most important thing going: wholesome competent *honest* humble informative videos without the drama or entertainers fake scripted bs. Why your channel isnt ten times larger completely baffles me, you had to have offended google at some point or something. Keep on keeping on Joe, never change my dude!
Very well written, and I appreciate the kind words. It’s definitely better to be liked for who you are than loved for who you aren’t. I’ll keep on keeping on. Thanks brother
You have limited your subscribers by calling your channel just Mopar Joe. A lot of your videos pertain to any brand of car. But I can tell you're a hard-working guy because I have painted cars before and it takes a lot of work, especially if you add up the hours you spend on a paint job you're probably don't even make $10 an hour but when the result is very good that is a lot of pride in your workmanship. Make some cool shirts with some race car looking stuff on them and maybe I will buy one
Thanks Thomas! I have a couple with my cuda on them. Never any pressure to buy. I do use a mom and pop company out of Iowa. www.etsy.com/shop/SchultzSignCo?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1343457469&from_page=listing&page=1#items

Well said! Thanks brother
You seem genuine ,honest, meticulous , and you seem to do the best you can at the current task at hand.
I like that attitude alot, enjoyed your tuning vid with the afr gauge. Some bigger channels are becoming very
corporate , (buy my this, buy my that. ) IMO , don't become them. Best of luck.
@@ldg332004 thank you! I have a new AFR for my racecar that Bluetooth’s and data logs to my phone! Going to be fun!

Thanks brother! I’ve got a fresh engine build video coming this weekend!
Hahah! That last part really got me
Jamie is how I found you, Joe - as well as Rocket also, of course.
Tony is how I found Jamie....
See, the stuff I watch on YT are all real, not scripted, not contrived, no generated
drama sorts of channels with personable hosts - not "personalities" or "influencers".
You guys are the real deal and therefore very relatable. Works for me. 🙂
- Ed on the Ridge
Thanks Ed! Have a good weekend
Brother Joe, that was a great explanation of channel names. Also, it was very nice of you to call out some good channels. I have watched every one of them. At some point, I'd like to visit with you about the "how to set up a RUclips channel."
Thanks Brother Brad! I’m still learning as I go
I think your channel covers a little of everything and it’s the best for me you do a very good job at everything you do you should be proud of yourself great channel I tell all my friends about your channel I don’t share I let the person I tell check it out and they can decide if it’s for them its definitely for me I like every video you have put out
@@JeffLeblanc-xb7qe thanks Jeff!
Meant I’ve told you
Yea sir. Check out my old Mustang playlist. I had to cut two apart to make one!
Supper Time!!
🍔🍟🥓🍦
You have a really good channel. I've learned a lot from you. Your channel is great for the average guy like me working in his garage. Your channel, Dead Dodge Garage and Junkerup are my go to's. Keep up the great work. Could you do a video on your preferred tools and shop equipment?
Thanks brother. Everyone has their own style. I have worked for a while with less expensive tools and stuff. I’m trying to add some better equipment for building engines and stuff that will make life easier.
A fifth segment of auto u-tube you neglected (on purpose?), is the "look at me" crowd with their Lambo's/ Ferrari etc.
Absolutely true. It happens in every genre. People love stuff!
I like genuine people, no bs drama. I watch a variety from restorations to bracket racing. Mopars definitely help, but not the most important part
Thanks for sharing! I hope to have something exciting coming up soon!
That’s a Great video, Joe! 😀👍
Thanks brother
Good morning to you JMJ! 😉
Good morning!
And then there's the two bit hacks like me! 😂
Haha! You’re basically a sham now, Extra Medium Mike!
@JustMoparJoe That really hurts my feelings 💔 😪 Now I'm just gonna be extra sensitive Mike 🥺! 🤣
Just be glad you got “Big Mike” before Michelle Obama could.
@@johnwilburn Bahaha!🤣
I'm gonna have to go back through your archives & watch the vids on your 400 build. I'd like to build one for a Barracuda Fastback.
Thanks brother. The 400 dyno engine is now in my blue truck. Ready to fire up soon!
I think you pretty well summarized it
Thanks Mike
I appreciate you. I got my education from growing up around car folks. Now i have a 2 car hobby when im not working. I dont care to watch anyones channel who has to cuss. I already have a education on that lol.
Thanks brother!
Just Rambling Joe 😂 I'm either fixing stuff in the garage or driveway. It never ends.
All good buddy! That’s how do it
Ya missed custom $ customizing rat rods vintage good video it got me thinking on deferent ways to break deferent shops , cool & diesel stuff 👍 👍 👍 👍
Glad to help! Thanks brother
Rich 220 went from “Rich220 Automotive Restorations” to “Rich’s Garage” to “Rich” in a matter of months. He wants to visit every category 🤣
Haha! Try em all
"Poor" (and thats okay)
@@HoosierGarageBroke is fine. It’s all the other stuff.
I had to drop the "mopar" in my channels name because I'm about to get a 24 f150 single cab with a whipple. Don't block me. 😂 I have a ton of footage I need to edit into a few videos.
Oh no. Prayers sent
Been sending comments but they disappear 😵💫 you’re not the only one . ✌️👍🏻🇦🇺.
Wow man! I almost always see them!
who could forget Customs/Kustoms... some pretty modded stuff has come out of my garage over the years, I just cant seem to get my channel started
No doubting your ability, buddy! You’re one of the outliers of the normal pack. Making your own way and blazing your own trail! Watch out for those Productions guys 🤣
@@JustMoparJoe hahaha I wasnt doubting.. theres few non custom, custom shops though ...and yes..those Production guys are another branch
I could shorten my name to Jim's Fastback! I don't fix anyone's cars, just my own 😊.
It’s all good! You’re working out of your garage! See you soon!
How many times has Joe's dad bail him from jail with all them speeding tickets?
Haha! It wasn’t for speeding..🫣
The book cover at the beginning of this vid is that your dad or relative looks like you
Haha! Blake at Bad tree productions gave swapped me on to that guy 😂
😳😳😳😳😳
🇺🇸
Then there's me, the type that makes a few videos, disappears, makes a few videos, disappears, repeat 🤣
A true enigma
