Here is a little overview of a small Russian village in the Omsk region, Siberia. I'll show you a typical Russian countryside house, a garden, and a barn. Also, you'll learn some useful Russian vocabulary about growing vegetables and farming in Russia.
Text in Russian:
Это деревня. Домики. Ветер дует. Вот это посёлок недалеко от города Омска. Это Сибирь. Вот там дом моей тёти. Мы приехали в гости. Давайте зайдём. Вот дом. Один этаж. Там огород. Это двор. Машина. Оля, привет! Бельё сушится. Здесь мангал для шашлыков. Малина. Там колодец. Колодец... Но он, наверно, не работает. Пойдём дальше. Так... Посмотрим животных. Здесь у нас курочки. Куры. а там кролик. Вон он. Ой ой ой. Вот они.
Кролик, привет! ой, вот. Боится. Это сарай. Здесь много-много всяких вещей хранится.
Мой дядя: Ой, Даша, ты нашу эту снимаешь захламлённую?
Я: нормально.
Так... И опять... Где они? Вот они. Свиньи. Чёрные свиньи.
Дядя: Вьетнамские вислобрюхие называются
Я: Вьетнамские вислобрюхие? Они сейчас пойдут сюда?
Дядя: Нет, они не выйдут.
Свиньи. И Рекс. Привет, Рекс! Рычит... Красавец.
Зайдём домой. Так. Это зал. Ковры, цветы. Телевизор. Это мой двоюродный брат. Это я. Всё расплывчато. Так... Ещё комната. Кухня. О боже... Мда... Туалет. Стиральная машина. И печка.
Это огород. Огород. Посмотрим. Это смородина. Чёрная смородина. Вот там. Скоро будут ягоды. Пока зелёные. Это помидоры. Помидорки. Вот они. Это малина. Скоро будет. Малина. Это вишня. Всё неспелое. Здесь перцы. Вода. Здесь яблоня. Будут яблоки. Сейчас вот такие маленькие яблочки. Здесь лук. Лук. И чеснок. Это чеснок. Грядка. Грядка чеснока. Здесь морковка. Морковка. Там опять яблоня. И, конечно, клубника. Клубничка самая вкусная. Ягоды пока зелёные, но вот уже скоро. Вот она, розовая... Скоро будут.

These "slow russian" videos are excellent. They give me all the components i was looking for: 1. slow speech i can follow, 2. a photo/video of the subjects, 3. the text down below in russian (this really is the key of it) so i can follow the writing and speech at the same time and 4. using the subtitles I get the English translation. Every video I am learning 6-8 new words. thanks so much!!!! P.S. Tell your uncle he has a great looking garden. I hope it all grows well for him! :)

I enjoyed seeing the vegetable garden. That is a lot of tomato plants compared to our own garden. But you didn't show us any cucumber plants. I thought cucumbers were a favorite with a lot of Russians. Do people grow them in home gardens? Ours are just starting to come up, and today I mulched them with grass clippings from mowing the lawn. Lots of rain means lots of grass clippings. Other things I didn't see that we have in our vegetable garden this year are green beans, swiss chard, lettuce, and rhubarb. I don't think I've ever heard mention of rhubarb by Russians. Tonight we had rhubarb pie - one of my favorites. Is that something that is grown in Russia? (We used to raise chickens, too. Also sheep (for meat) and goats (for milk and meat). But it was a lot of work, and it limited our travel. Those days are long gone.)
