I'm speechless! Every single clip of Christina is so valuable, to the point & explained very simply. I've been playing for 13 yrs & watching videos all over the place, read Hogan's book etc but never seen a Golf coach explain superb tips so well. I wish that you were my coach! Thank you again.
Great timing on this video. It’s exactly what I’ve been working on lately. In an effort to shorten my swing and stabilize my trail leg in my back swing, I lost some of my rotation. I’m back on track now. Great video!
Christina I think that's your best video ever and you do some very good ones! Keeping the shoulder and hip angle in the back swing is crucial for success! Well done thank you.
I really like the point you made that the length of the backswing depends on how far you can rotate and still maintain your spine angle. Maintaining my spine angle helps produce accuracy, which for me is all important. I'll be working on that over the winter months.
Christina, love your simple explanations for golf swings. It may not help anyone else, but for me if I lift my left heal in the back swing like Bobby Jones l have a better lower hip rotation & strike the ball better.
Thank you. As always for your videos are very insightful. After watching this video I have two issues with my driver swing. First, my move is rotating with a flat takeaway and immediately losing my spine angle, and second my first move on the downswing is striking down with the driver where my body moves forward in front of the ball either skying my shot or a pull to the left. Watching this video I hope to solve my biggest issue with my game, getting off the tee. The rest of the game, i.e. irons and putting is in pretty good shape.
Doesn't the differing width in stance between Wie and Johnson affect their ability to rotate ? I think from Michele's stance hard to get back hip to rotate back - see Michele's hips have hardly rotated . I love your teaching, great stuff.
Greetings! I realize this was 5 months ago, but I hope you get notifications on comments. I suppose I’ve progressed enough in my golfing journey that your explanations make sense to me. I started mine after retirement 2 years ago, so you can imagine my tribulations. Somehow the algorithm decided about 2-3 weeks ago that I should see your tips, and they’re answering questions I’ve been having. This one really helped me with setup and backswing posture. Now I wonder if you’ve done the one on the downswing that you mentioned below. The lessons I’ve had with the pros here worked on, in order, weight balance to the front foot, moving my low point ahead of the ball, and getting my hip turn early enough to lead my hands through instead of just getting out of the way. I think I’ve made some progress on these, but I’m still not taking the divot in front. So if you’ve got a downswing lesson similar to this backswing one, I think it might be very helpful to me. Thanks!
Hi Christina all great advice. Raising one arms beyond one capabilities forces the golfer to stand up and they then needs to somehow squat their upper torso down to connect their club head to their ball. Correct? Did you ever do a video on the fact that the pulling down by the left arm is the controlling agent, and if you let it be you will escape the many troubles that results from trying to push or throw down from the top of your backswing with the right hand and shoulder? As you know our obliques muscles groups diagonally connects our rib cage to our hips and represents the twisting middle band between those two parts of our body. So as I get into my golf posture and (drop my club head on the ground as it is designed to do behind my balI) I always start my backswing by rolling my rib cage back knowing my hips must turn and follow. My downswing then is simply to consciously and actively pull my club head down with my entire lead arm allowing my trail arm, magic trail elbow, and hand to automatically and reactively throw my club head down to and through the ball to the end of my swing. This works well because of my obliques muscles groups are not a only the rubber band between my upper and lower body and the swing center circle of my golf swing ; but also serves to protects my spine as well. What say you. Cheers 👍😃❤️⛳️🥂
Hi Thomas, this tip is backswing but the downswing, it is initially driven by hips/glutes and then lats/obliques. Players will have different feels regarding what the cub FEELS like. I do not like to PULL club down. I allow body to bring it down. I'll do a tip on this. Important topic. As always - thanks for watching!
Great video, can you help me on how to avoid using too much arms and not using core for the backswing?, Do you start the back swing with the shoulder and the arms follow?
Makes a lot of sense to me. I have broad shoulders and could never get the driver or any iron for that matter parallel at the top. So for a 3/4 swinger, is a pause at the top helpful before firing the hips?
I noticed Michelle has no hip turn and no left leg bend while Dustin has just a little of each yet they move their torso and seem to have a very full back swing with their backs to the target. Is this because of their flexibility which is impossible for us mere mortals? Also would this be hard on the back? I think Dustin has had back issues and not sure about Michelle.
Yes everyone is different. The both have tremendous separation skills which most rec players do not. It wont effect their back because they do not use their lower back to rotate. They use their leg muscles. Many rec players use their lower back to spin the hips

IMO, I think this is one of the best videos you have made. It made perfect sense.

I agree! So much great info/tips is one video!

This woman is a top teacher. Common sense info which is really rare.
Simply put Christina nice and easy to follow 👍
Superb lesson, you really know the swing and explain it so well.
Excellent lesson. Dom
Awesome detail! Thanks
Love your videos.I built and maintain my swing off your valuable instructions.
Great video simple tips are very helpful

Another great video Christina 😄 What about lifting lead heal to really crank it back and also fly the trail elbow?

Thank you Christina . I am having trouble with my timing , can you do another video on timing ?
Hi Les! Sure thing. Overall timing or downswing timing?
Thanks!
Thank you so much and for watching!
Ok for the head to go down ? In backswing ?
Hey guys Christina Ricci

Do you care that left arm is bent in practice swing drill
No. not at all. Swing width comes from the trail arm. Lead arm for height. Thanks for watching,
Excellent helpful hint!!
Great tip
