  • Recieved my recently purchased Thrasher LR and immediately departed to test the limits in comparison to the Thrasher XP... and completely forgot to CHARGE the also brand new 4S 6500 Mah Lipo batteries :(
... that's ok - it was just a test and tune - I needed to calibrate a few things, learning new lessons is another part of life.
Keep in mind, the Thrasher LR (Long Runtime) is just as capable as the XP (X-Performance) - it is simply a bit less 'speedy' at going up difficult white water obstacles, but it can make it up (with a fully charged battery of course) the same spots in the right hands while making it look as smooth as silk!
Everything on the Thrasher LR is upgrade capable to the Thrasher XP specs - meaning, the hull/chassis and bolt points are the exact same as the XP, however, it has a vacuum bilge pump vs the powered always-on bilge - however, these are all available at www.StreamLineRC.com if you feel you need the extra capacity or power. Going with the LR and upgrading over time is a wise choise for people wanting to thrash but haven't had an RC boat before.
The LR comes with a plastic composite impeller versus a billet impeller that the XP comes with, as well as a smaller propulsion system (1kV motor on the LR vs the 2kV motor on the XP) - however - this does NOT affect performance up difficult white-water spots in the slightest.
The LR is a very powerful, very capable jet boat, & if you're on a budget or you're new like I am and want to upgrade things yourself over time, I highly recommend checking out the available options at Streamline RC's website for the LR RTR and upgrade from there if any of the above applies to you.
I purchased both the XP and the LR, which is a future Christmas gift, and I'm absolutely impressed with both.
I would recommend people start with the LR ready to roll (RTR) first, and upgrade as necessary, but I'll have to do a full review to show people exactly what I'm saying...
I couldn't possibly capture everything on video that I've witnessed these "little" 27" RC jet boats do, but as I get better at capturing moments and understanding composition and camera angle - I'll share more and edit cleaner vids for you all to enjoy!
** side note: I've upgraded several parts on my XP (adjustable cavitation plates, billet exokeel, various replacement parts), and every upgrade creates a new dynamic in handling and performance capabilities & are worth every penny **
I hope you enjoy this video and the future videos soon to be posted!
If I haven't stated this before - I am not sponsored by StreamlineRC in anyway!
