Yes, it works well - I'd say it works better when applied multiple times, the water beads up to a certain size and it just flies off. The only caveate is that it needs 'speed' to work, or a quick turn and splash of water will work as well.

I haven't done a GPS speed yet, but I will definitely post a video of that soon! From other videos I've watched on previous versions of the Thrasher (V3 I believe) on various types of batteries, the top speed on 4s was around 15 mph, and 6s was around 21 - 23 mph. I believe you can adjust the 'punch' of the ESC to a higher setting, but I will get back to you on my top speed with various types of batteries in the near future... just waiting on better weather at the moment ( 1-31-24 ).

That is spot on - I found out yesterday when a tiny piece of wood got stuck in the bilge. I was pushing so hard, I didn't even notice the water in the hull unti I picked it up and thought 'um, that seems a bit heavy...' - but because it was so loud near the white water, I couldn't hear the bilge being stuck. After another run up and back down a larger rapid, it immediately sank and the noise porpoised - it wasn't deep water, but I had to head home for repairs to get the bilge to work again!

@@HoloRC sorry to hear and so glad you managed to recover it but if you see Kevin Talbot it also happens when the reverse bucket gets jammed / damaged and throws so much water back over the Boat he was lucky it was so shallow......better off getting a car, planes fall out of the sky, boats sink

Exactly - I can't tell you how many times I went up there dreaming of a proper RC boat that can go up all the shallow creeks and side paths - it reminded me of the Marathon Jet Boat races down in australia and in the US (as well as around the world I'm sure) - and soon I hope to emulate that kind of race from one side of the Applegate Lake to the other. There is a window just after Summertime where the lake is emptied and the creek is fully ripping on the lakebed... As of 1-15-24, we've had well over 10+ inches of rain in a very short amount of time, so all those cool smaller rapids are under 10 feet of water, soon to be 100 feet of water, and those previous 'tough' rapids are now literal cat-4 rapids made of pure foamy white water... tough, but not impossible :D the Applegate is a wonderful river that very few people have experienced. Its slow and lazy in the Summer, quite a rip during high water season!

The LR is much less chaotic than the XP, I really liked the LR while I had it. I would say it requires a bit more finess to navigate tough white water than the XP, but I have zero complaints - the first upgrade I'd recommend is the bilge if you're going to go into tough water. I'm addicted, I'll be tweaking my XP, upgrading it, adding, subtacting, potentially losing it and if so, I'll buy another... and another... and another. I may have an addiction, but ay, its a healthy one!

Thank you! It was fun capturing the moment - I'm a big time newb with this but the Thrasher makes me look good so I can't complain much! Where I thrash is relatively shallow, it makes for very easy recoveries if your power cuts out, servo goes bad, bilge gets debris in the impeller, etc... More videos of much more savage rapids coming soon!

I promise with my second XP, I will definitely do something unique.
