How nice video! How cute the goshawk babies!
    巣の中が拡大して鮮明に撮影されてますね。
    飛んでいるところも上手く追って撮影されていて素晴らしいと思いました。

A big Northern Goshawk fly in our window in big speed and died. I was so sad such a beautiful and rare animal(live in a city) died like that. She either saw the refelction of herself and tried to attack or it was the stuffed canari she saw but thats like 10 fet away from the window. The animal broke the neck and looks like it died with no pain.

@RickMordecon i could possibly have been a coopers hawk, goshawks and coopers hawks look nearly the same and goshawks are very rare to see

Indeed. I'm so glad it looks like the smallest chick survived all the way to fledging. Usually with raptor chick, the smallest one is picked on and violently abused by the oldest of the chicks until it dies and the older chick throws it or pushes it out of the nest. It's a cruel and disturbingly violent phenomenon called "Cain and Abel Syndrome". It's nature's way of ensuring that the strongest of the nestlings survives. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen and usually when there is a drastic disparity in the age between the biggest one and the smallest one. I'm really glad it didn't look like that was the case, here. That smallest one was so cute but much younger than the other two. It hatched last and probably 3 - 5 days after the biggest one, maybe longer. It was feisty, though, and would fight for it's share of food which was great! :)

Yeh I think most of the Accipiter family and the Eagles has the Cain and Abel Syndrome. NOT all Birds of Prey has it.

Why young birds look like they are stronger than their mother? She mustn't stay longer in the nest when she brings the food to them. Can someone explain this?

Is it also instinct that tell a mother Goshawk to tear her prey into tiny bite size pieces to feed her youngs ? Or is it something far greater than instinct perhap ?

Seems like common sense, smaller beaks need smaller bites of food.
