    That is the most beautiful thing to do. My dream was always since I was a little girl is to give to the poor in Africa. That's been the one and only thing in my bucket list. Thank you for caring. I wish more well off people could do the same, but unfortunately very little humans have big hearts. Thank God for people like you. You have made these poor unfortunate ones feel rich and love life. May God Bless us all.

    I cannot say I approve of leopard and elephant hunts but I know you all are doing it for the good of the communities who depend on the land for their survival. USD is essential for these people, plus the bonus of a few tons of meat means that they do not have to resort to poaching the precious wildlife that need protecting.
    As a born South African now in Europe, I was so privileged to be in these rural communities and I so appreciate TIA for their work they do in the education and health care for them. God bless Africa.

      Hunting is the most basic human activity. I will always approve of that. But poaching is a grievous crime & can never, ever be tolerated. But the fact remains that plants & animals are being killed off by human development. Farms, lawns, houses, parks, golf courses, hospitals , malls, shopping centers, factories, nightclubs & office buildings all waste the earth’s surface area & destroy the environment & habitat necessary for living plants & animals. That is why plants & animals go extinct. That’s the real problem. How do we get people off the surface & underground? That’s the only pleasant solution.

      We do both…
      Sling or over the shoulder. If guiding photographic safaris we use the sling. Most ph will do the over the shoulder. Once your used to it it’s comfortable and easy access. Safety has been raised time and time again. But I’ve slo seen the sling option done un safely. Because we grip the end of the barrel we know where it’s pointing at all times.

    Do you feel bad at all….ending the life of such a big and magnificent animal for sport?
    Especially being that there are not many of them left in the wild? And if the argument is “food for the poor” …… why not kill something that there is an abundance of? Cape buffalo…. Wildebeest…. Zebra…. Then you could still get your rocks off killing something AND “feed the poor”….. without having to kill something that is almost extinct.

      The elephant is not a bit more magnificent than any other animal. But they are huge which makes it so fascinating to shoot them. In in some areas they cause problems because there are too many of them. So hunters are invited to finish the surplus elephants. And believe me a hunter feels great after the kill not bad at all.

  • @stephenland9361
    @stephenland9361 2 года назад +3

    Many people who are intrinsically against hunting, particularly of big, iconic African animals like elephant, don't understand that people and elephant have to co-exist. If elephant keep to their typical diet and stay away from villages and the people's crops, all is well. That said, some elephant do take to raiding crops. Of course, the elephant just sees it as a quick and easy food source. To the local people, it's a devastating loss of crops, food supply and income. It's also a very dangerous situation. Elephants can be very aggressive, 'defending' it's new food source. Conflict is inevitable and it's a near certainty that if the elephant doesn't die, local people will. This is unacceptable and the elephant will have to be killed, either by local game officers or by a hunting client willing to pay a hefty fee for the opportunity.
    That hefty fee goes to supporting game management and conservation. Local people are employed by the hunting company. The local people get a very large supply of meat which provides necessary protein in a place where protein deficiency is often a problem. (You might wonder how that's possible in an area teeming with wild game but it is a fact.)
    As long as elephant hunting is well regulated allowing a healthy population to carry on, the money that such hunting provides is a necessary part of game management and conservation. A great deal of that conservation is the preservation of the wild lands needed to sustain wild animals. It's simply an economic reality that today, wild animal populations must provide the necessary funds to sustain that population. Increasing human population means an ever greater push to turn wild land into farm land. Wild land has to pay for itself or it won't stay wild.
    A limited amount of wild land means a limited population of wild animals or the land gets overgrazed and turns to desert. Game departments staffed with professional wildlife biologists can ensure a healthy, self-sustaining population of game which in turn allows a steady source of income from hunters willing to pay for hunting opportunities. Properly managed big game hunting is necessary for conservation. It's as simple as that.
