- Wario's one tough cookie. Whereas as most video game characters would die instantly if they got crushed by a ten ton weight, Wario simply becomes the size of a pancake, which he can even use to his advantage.
Every transformation or form from Wario Land 2, 3 and 4, all in one video!
I use Wario Land 3 for most of the footage in the video because that game features the largest number of transformations or forms of every game in the series, and because Wario Land 4 doesn't have unique music for most of the forms when Wario is affected by them. The only form missing from WL3 is Tiny Wario, which is only in Wario Land 2.

Wario eats all the bullets and holds them in his mouth to spit as some specific obstacle. Alternatively, he gets thin from getting shot and gets through some thin gaps in the ground.
At least that's the case in Pizza Tower.

Wario actually is for the most part invincible in Wario Land 3. The only thing that can defeat him is the final boss The Hidden Figure who could one shot you if he crushes you with his hands. You are completely invincible in Wario Land 2. In 4 and 5 they got rid of the invincibility and gave Wario a heart meter so he could actually be defeated in those games. The ironic part is due to how the puzzles and traps are cunningly designed 2 and 3 turn out to be harder then 4 and 5 as status effects and bosses that can remove you from the arena force you to retrace your steps and try again and as such they still make the game challenging even if you are playing as an invincible hero.

I am actually a die hard Nintendo fan and a fan of Mario and the various other series it spawns Wario games included. I also like the Yoshi games, Luigi's Mansion games, Paper Mario, Super Princess Peach, Mario and Luigi RPGs, Super Mario RPG, etc. My old username was Jmario232 but some good for nothing troll took my account down so I used a secondary fail safe account I created to stay on board.

In Wario Lands 2-3, you can only complete the game and get the best ending by finding all the treasure you can and clearing the level with the treasure, but if Wario gets hit he loses some treasure.

Tiny Wario has also appeared in Warioware smooth moves due to Wario rode Penny Crygor's motorcycle.
Wario Land 3 almost include all Wario forms except tiny Wario. Just like Wario Land 2 & 4 forms combine together in Wario Land 3.

I think the last good TRUE Wario game was Master of Disguise.
I grew up playing WL2 and it is STILL a game I cherish greatly. 1, 3 and 4 (albeit losing a bit of its charm) were all great too. Master of Disguise was a really good game too, and again, it took a different path.
@@BakaTaco One person made some sort of Triforce of Wario Land games - Wario Land and Virtual boy Wario Land as Mario games, but being a little different. Wario Land 2 and 3 being focused on finding stuff and puzzles. Wario Land 4 and Shake It! as combination of both. But Master of Disguise and Wario World are sort of 4th upside down part of Triforce due being not similar at all to all previous ones. So I wouldn't really count Master of Disguise as part of Wario Land series. But that's your opinion, if you like the game, then it's fine.

I wasn't saying they are all part of the same... Generation?? For lack of better word. I was mostly talking about what you do in the game. Thinking about it, 2 and 3 were based around treasure, although 1 also had a focus on finding treasure. 4 did too, but I felt like 2 and 3 were the most treasure oriented, if that makes sense. It might not make much sense, but it does in my brain, haha.
1 and 2's treasure was for a "bonus" at the end of the game (you get a cooler castle and ending in 1, you unlock the mini game and final level in 2). 3 had the treasure actually needed for progression. 4... I don't remember really, I haven't played much of it, but from what I know, it's just for bonuses and collecting again? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Master of disguise is it's own thing. Completely different, but given that it is on the DS, that is to be expected. Wario still loves that treasure, but there's a proper plot and the game is story driven. The treasure is for money?? I forget, so please correct me if I'm wrong. It's been a long time since I played it and I never did complete that stupid dolphin boss...
I don't consider MoD to be in the same boat as the older ones at all, since like you said, it's very different.
I would be pretty happy to play a "classic" remake or a new game of Wario that resembles the Wario Land series. Actually, I would pay good money for a remake of Wario Land 1, 2 and 3. I feel like Wario deserves that and it wouldn't need a whole lot, just a graphics update and some good polishing.

Platformers aren't really my thing, so I didn't know much about this series. Seeing this, though, with the quite clever and subversive use of gaming and cartoon tropes as major gameplay elements quite intrigues me.

Wario Land 3 perfected the transformation based gameplay. I personally prefer WL 4 but damn, the puzzles and level design in general in 3 are gold standards.
Yep. That's one of the reasons why it's my favorite. I prefer the more puzzling solver that 2 & 3 offers than an action/adventure like 4 has. I still like 4. Don't get me wrong. It's still an great game. But it wasn't nearly as heavy puzzle base as 2 or 3 have. And I do love how 3 goes to an Metroidvania style route.
Bouncy Wario's always been the cutest/funniest (especially with the music) but man...that zombie form scarred me as a kid (worse off in Wario Land 4).

If you stay afloat in Water for too long in WL4 Wario will start splashing around like he does in WL3 while in water, love little details like those.

+ AnthonyM the Gamer Artist! There is "Virtual Boy Wario Land" for Nintendo's failed Virtual Boy which you can play on an Emulator (since I doubt you will find a real Virtual Boy). It's kind of like Wario Land 1 only you can now combine power ups and you can jump into the background of the levels
