When you consider that they have used a high quality ever bright steel, a hand assembled movement, zaratsu polishing, beautiful indices and hand set , a gorgeous crystal, limited to 1700 pieces worldwide, then priced them similar to a mass produced omega seamaster 300 with a rubber strap, then maybe their value are justified ? The omega has without doubt a more luxury name, but is it better than these sla seikos , personally I don't think so . And I'm so happy I only paid 2.5k for mine nearly new.

I have a hard time keeping up with Seiko and Omega limited editions. Beautiful piece, but doesn't it already exist?! I need to sharpen my fanboy skills. 😂JK - Your review clearly explains what makes these special. Those bezels and blue face do look great!
I think my problem with the price of these pieces is that you can get a MM300 for about 1500 less than these pieces with the same movement inside. I prefer the look of these pieces but I’m sorry to say I don’t think the price is justified, particularly with no bracelet. Here’s hoping for a non-LE version of these in about 6 months at a more reasonable price point once they’ve gouged the fanboys with these.
I'm not sure I've seen the Marine Master 300 in person that I can recall. Do I don't know does it have all the same features like the 904L steel case with Zaratsu polishing? Also, love it or hate it, these new ones have the limited edition tax applied to them.
@@JustBlueFish The MM300 is Zarathustra polished to my knowledge, but it’s not this new steel. I think it is the LE tax on this like you say. Shame because I love the way the cool blue one looks.

Seiko was my favorite brand. I have zero problem with then making up market. I tent to enjoy there stuff over 750 dollars more anyway I find the LE stuff to be abysmal though. Also they seem to make alot of mistakes. Watches not being offered in black, not making a newer sarb033/035 (even if up market, yes the sarx exist but they're both quite the same), not offering watches with bracelets that should have them, ect. I find there's so many issues that would have basic fixes. I just can't buy anything from the. The marine master is about the only thing I have my sights on but there's about a dozen omega and tudor models I'll be buying first. It feels like seiko has been making everything I would "almost" want and nearly nothing I love. That's a huge contrast to how I felt 3 years ago.
There's a difference with an understandable price increase and these prices! Where does Seiko end and Grand Seiko start? Not sure this type of pricing is going to distance Seiko from GS 🤔
No doubt Seiko needs to move upmarket. However their quality control and material upgrade not fully justify the price difference for me. I used to be a Seiko fan and own two very nice watches(Credor Eichi II and GS SBGA001). But I highly doubt I will get another one in the future...
I am surprised at some of the skeptical comments. Look at it - the bezel appears to align, and you no longer have to tell your friends "Oh, but hardlex resists impact better than sapphire". That right there is worth at lest $4,000.
That's basically a GS with a seiko logo on it. if we are gonna judge seiko for their prices which I think is true then we have to judge Rolex, Patek, AP etc etc which have always been extremely overpriced because of their marketing skills and demand. Seiko is just not a bargain anymore. Prices are more un par with the rest of the industry if you really know how much high quality their high end pieces can be. Finishing alone are better than anything else (omega, rolex etc) Some QC problems are unacceptable on their 1k-2k watches which is where you can find them but no, Seiko's prices are not nuts. It's a brand older than Rolex and they obviously know what they are doing. People buy these things.
Nice watches but the price differential between the main Seiko range and these is too great. Yes the movement is superior, as is the finish of the watch, but not $3000 worth.
Great video. I realize that Seiko isn’t the brand that it was several years ago. That being said, I think the price on these are just NUTS. This puts them into the range of the Tudor Pelagos and black bays, the omega seamaster pro and the britling superocean. Seiko may have improved greatly over the years but it’s not even close to these and many other brands. The price that Seiko is asking for these watches is way out of line. I think they should be $1500-2000 range at best. Seiko’s problem lately is that think way to highly of their product and think it’s in the same league as the other brands I’ve mentioned.
So are you paying for the physical product or the brand? If you want to pay for the physical object then Seiko high end prices are kind of normal with the rest of the industry. Seiko was making grand seiko and these high end seikos are no different than a GS. Is just the name. Seiko would loose thousands of dollars if they sell their LX line for 1500$ as you say. Those are watches that cost a lot to manufacture.
@@watchroll3310 I’m sorry but this watch’s price point is just way to high. They’re not in the same league as the other watches I mentioned.
