1. Finally a topic we can argue on…the first season was somehow an introductory season so…like story telling..and actually the transition from season 1 to 2 is nice.
2. Social media is place for every kind of people so yes so many purposes in using it, I'm sorry if Aaron faces bad experiences about social media and his life as celebrity. I tell you what I know, some contents definitely inspire and liberate and some other contents trigger jealousy and envy. I personally love famous people who spread awareness toward oppressed community.
3. In K-Pop social medias work differently, they always contribute in voting like reputation ranking and music show, so from what I've heard, fandom have certain number of views, comments, hashtags and trending to reach from time to time.
4. For me, each of my accounts have particular purpose, one to store photos one to connect with you Aaron.
5. Less time online is also great for mental health, I try to discipline myself with setting max an hour for a day and no longer following updates of certain hashtag. I redefine my purpose and stick with it.

My take on this is the companies who provide these platforms have greater resposibility to keep these things in check. Also, it's not just the celebs who can't get off social media networks. There are normal corporate employees who want to get rid of accounts but it has become mainstream to connect online than asking for mobile numbers. With regards to content of these platforms, it's scary how you can get lost browsing for hours without a care around you. Thank you for this episode. The advices all through the episode is really nice. Congratulations on a strong season 2, KCB! Looking forward to the next episode!
OMG, I really enjoyed this podcast (since it's my first time listening podcast and recommendations from my best friend 😊) I love how both of you so fluent in English and somehow I'm learning a lot with the words you two using besides the usual ones that I've ever heard from many movies or something like this. Also I love the topic you two talked about, since I don't expect that there're people who will thought the same as me about social medias. I'm really having difficult times with social medias recently and thinking about to quit. But of course, I couldn't do it since our recent life is connected with it, like this one 😂and somehow we couldn't leave it even if we want to, or maybe the times when we really ended up quit because problems we have. I'm so thankful to the advices you gave, that social medias are like double-edged sword, we love it also we hate it, but we need it too 😂😂 I'm trying to not to focused on social medias from now on and just take it for fun and relaxing things when I'm bored. I wished to feel real world again and tossing phone also social medias for a while to enjoy the view, scenery, and the nature.🥰🥰

On the topic, I used to love social media, but nowadays...nah. There was a time when we would use social platforms to actually connect and meet people with common interests, nowadays it's not it anymore. I feel like, unless we're talking about Discord or Telegram groups, it's hard to create a community. *(KCP discord server: when?)*
Insta can be good workwise, but I don't understand the appeal of sharing personal/private events or selfies unless the person is a public figure whose living depends on their image. "Maybe because I'm old" lol.

I really love this episode and I'm totally agree with your opinions! People lately are so serious about their social media accounts while there's me that (most of the time) only use my social media accounts for my fangirling things 😂 but it's kinda saddening to hear my friends saying that they started to comparing others life with their own life just based by what people post on their account ☹ I hope people only use social media just for fun, and not taking it too seriously 🥺

저는 인스타같은 소셜미디어를 거의 사용을 안하는데(코카보 인스타는 알람까지 되어있지만요☺️) 인스타부터 묻는 사람이 있다는게 놀랍네요..! 제 개인적으로는 전화번호는 좀 더 개인적인 부분이라 다수에게 공개된 인스타로 소통하는게 상대방과 약간의 거리감을 두는게 아닐까 생각했는데 다른 의도를 가질 수도 있다는 점을 알게되어 흥미로워요. 아론, 조엘과 같은 동년배로서 두 시대를 모두 경험해봤기에 SNS의 장점과 단점을 더 잘 느끼게 되는 것 같네요. 오늘 주제 재밌었어요!

I agree there is a pro and cons so person who use social media platform should know how to control and know their limits. Too much use isn't good including mental health. As you know its also toxic. I applaud you guys for calling out some really bad behavior that influencers do, especially since you guys also have a big following, honestly, I think you guys have a very respectful approach to every topic and that is amazing (even though it should be the norm, for some reason it's not!) can't wait to see what's next on this season
Ugh this is exactly what I was thinking months ago, I became desperately anxious since my posts' reach on Instagram didn't meet my expectation, as an illustrator I want many people to see my works but at the same time, this was very unhealthy. So I decided to not think about it and I've never been felt so good as this, my work also has gotten better (IMO) since I'm not trying to live up to other people's opinions anymore and be more honest with myself
So glad you guys are back, Aaron I been following you since 2018 when Bts was on the Billboard awards show. I started scrolling on RUclips, and seventeen and Nuwest did a song together that I fell in love with both groups, and decided to looked both groups up , but your voice got me with Dejav you have a beautiful voice. So when the group split, I was glad to see that you weren't sad. And I love your podcast, Korean Cowboys that's fresh. You and Joel are awesome❤

This is reaalllyyy an interesting topic and mostly, I agree with you two. For Instagram, I don't know if it's my country things or what but me and my friends ask about our ig in our first meeting just for the tag in photo. So we ended up follow them too because you know, we mentioned them in our acc. But for some people (including me) will someday do 'cleaning my acc'. And well that helps a lot✌
My bigest concern about social media is that most people are stop thinking for themselves and just like Aaron said just believe to everything they see on the internet and just follow the opinion that 'social approved' by many or big accs which is most time is false information or people just like to hate someone. When no one deserves hate in the first place. And also just like you said when someone hurting or make others distress. Also I didn't even noticed when and how it happened? but one day I just realized that a lot of people think of social media = real life and I still so confused about it, because it's clearly not.
But anyway it's so nice to have you back guys, can't wait for new ep🧡

I agree that social media is a double edge sword, but I think at the end of the day it's a tool and you just gotta use it the way that best suits you. for me, I prefer discovering new cafes, events around me but I'm not much of a sharer and I don't like to scroll on it for too long. :)

First of all, thank you for coming back with SEASON 2 so soon!!! Congrats Korean Cowboys! yeehawwww!
I strongly agree that we should connect/get to know with people outside of social media. I remember there was this Snapchat thing that was sooo popular a few years back (not sure bout now). Most of my friends have an account of it, and I felt it's kind of interesting at first with all the cute selfie filters and its function where you could send disappearing photos to your friends. It was totally a new idea to me, communicating with mainly photos (that also don't occupy much of your phone's storage cuz it's not downloaded on your phone, they disappear!). So I too, downloaded the app and try to connect with some of my friends by sending them photos with texts trying to spark a conversation. But there were a few times where I got replies of random photos of the wall, the ceiling or simply a black image with a time sticker. I was like ??? what is the meaning of this, the replies are so meaningless to me. Then I found out the reason they reply is simply just to maintain the "streak" on the chat with you (there was a streak icon that counts how many days consecutively you have sent disappearing photos to each of your friends). It was so ridiculous to me to maintain those "streaks" without even a slight intention to actually talk with your friends, so I eventually quitted the app, thank goodness :D
BUT social media do help me to maintain some friendships. There are some friends who I haven't met in ages cuz we've been living in different cities/went to different colleges etc. They might have my old phone number but throughout the years I have changed my phone number a few times, but social media keeps us connected where we'll just chat in our Instagram DM once in a while. It's also easier for friends, who you haven't talked to for some time, to start a conversation with you by replying your Instagram stories. So yeah, social media is bad and it's also great.
