Thanks Dan! I really enjoyed Lake Ohrid (Albania and Macedonia sides) very affordable scenic and lots to explore if you have a car. The village on stilts was one of my favorite places!
Hey Dan and qiang, I am one of the ones that suggested you check out ohrid on your Tirana report... Like you I don't think I would live there all year (although as a Canadian I likely don't mind the cool as much as you both lol). To me what I loved about ohrid was the ability to escape the July/August heat of the southern Europe (it was so hot when I was in Tirana in early August). Good report like always... Did you wander the neat path along old town and the shore to the church around the lake? Tons of quiet places to relax and take in the beauty of the lake.
@@VagabondAwake Walking RIGHT when facing the water in old town. The best way to describe it is to constantly choose the path that stays closest to the water through the winding old town streets. It eventually leads to a path that is built over the water and around a cliff. There are more restaurants and scenic views there, and it's much more relaxing. The path in question eventually leads to just below the "Church of Saint John the Theologian". The path does not seem to be marked on Google Maps. If you type in "Ohrid Boardwalk" into Google Maps, it should come up. Walk that, and it opens up a wonderful, calmer world to relax and enjoy the beauty of the wonderful views of lake Ohrid. I sat there (with only a few others) on a recliner chair, Cracked a cold beer, fired up a small cigar (something I do only when I find something special), watched the sun set and the lights come on over the bay, all the while happy that I had escaped the heatwave of July/august in Southern Europe... My happy place. I hope that clarifies things.
Hey Dan! Thanks for sharing this new video! I've been considering going to North Macedonia, specifically Ohrid in the future wanting to spend some time at or near the lake. Now that I've watched your new video I think it's more of a done deal that I'll be going there. What I really like about your videos are the resources you attach to them. Like your Facebook links. It makes it a lot easier to assimilate into the country. Do you think you'll spend any time in western Europe?
Just landed in Thailand for a couple of months before going to Georgia. Christmas and New Years looks pretty cool there, so wanted to check it out first hand. I know I'll go from hot to cold in a quick minute, but I'm up for it.
We would have liked to have seen the whole apartment. The information for eating out - it would be better to give a few guidelines for each dish - the total doesn't mean much. Nobody knows whether you ate out once or three times. Thx a lot for your information. Update: found the link to the apparment! Thx
Unless things have changed it's difficult to move to North Macedonia. Requires a local sponsor for one. Don't believe they have a retirement visa. There's a lot to like about the country but tough to move to.

I have heard the us is building new military bases in Philippines can you talk about that? I'm a retired military member looking to retire in the Philippines and think it would be a huge benefit to retire in the same area as one of the new bases if that is really happening

Have you applied for a temporary visa?

Not too bad in tourist areas.
We would all really like to know how the mass immigration is affecting some of these places that you are traveling to.
He is a slow traveler or long term tourist so I don’t think mass immigration or taxes affect him. Wrong channel for those things.
There is no mass immigration here that we could see.
