Proud to say I was at this concert
Oh lucky duuuude...
As was I!
Me as well 🤘
@@michaeltomkinson134 and me. Right hand side of the stage. About 7 rows from the front. Ghost were ace as well weren’t they!
@@mongolmcphee7791 near the back for us undercover and yes they were good as well 🤘
They celebrate 40 years as a band this year. Oh, and this song came out in 1986.. 35 years ago.
The guitar that James is playing, is made of wood from the garage they performed in and wrote ride the lightning and master of puppets, the fretboard inlays tell the story of them, mentioning the loss of cliff, and how he is still watching over them as the constellation Orion (after the song Orion which he played a major role in writing) if you look up the story of this guitar there’s so many small yet significant details of the guitar
Lars is killing it on this one.
Driving it like a runaway freight train going down an Alaskan mountainside.
Great.
Metallica just rocks... Their gigs are huge sing-along fests and the people are really into it... And these guys are some of the biggest stars on earth and they are so down to earth and humble that it is almost unbelievable... They have to play the music, they don't have a choice... They live for the music and they are still at heart those teenagers rocking in a garage somewhere in LA...
You guys should check out Metallica “battery” live in Seattle 1989. One of the greatest performances captured on film
^ this
no. thats such an overrated performence
@@mrarican1271 false. It’s amazing. One of the greatest. This view is unanimous across the board
@@mrarican1271 say what???!!! Name me 1 better concert...
@@mrarican1271 you must be The most stupid human beeing walking this earth
You need to watch their performance of this at their Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It’s fantastic
That was just so fucking sick as fuck! They didn’t miss a beat on that song. The crowd participated immaculately and stayed in tune. They are that good rain and all.
I just LOVE how the live audiences have taken to singing along with the guitars in the middle section. The way the audience participation elements evolve over time at Metallica concerts reminds me a bit of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
That break down after all these years still gets to me- TRUE EPICNESS from the goat.
I like when he pauses at 15:28 Suzi gets a look on her face like "wtf have you done" lol
It never rains in Manchester (my home city) - apart from today and yesterday... this was in in the height of summer in Manchester. To quote a famous music producer from the UK. "This is Manchester, we do things differently here". I love my city - and I have been to this stadium for gigs - as security and as fans, it is great.
very cool. too bad we are so far away
@@TheWolfHunterZ indeed - more manchester bands i would recommend, Oasis, The Smiths, Stone Roses
I was at this concert and i can tell you the rain only made it more epic!
Yeah here in Mexico when they come puufff so epic as well as Manchester we sing this song so loud the mosh was soo crazy the best day of my live
Kirk "The Ripper" Hammet
I’ve been a fan of Metallica since 85. Love them still. Seen them a couple of times. They are incredible live
You made me remember why Metallica live is so great. Seen them more than ten times all over the world. Obviously in Sweden but also in London, New York, San Francisco as well as Bologna, Italy and Tallin, Estonia.
Greetings from Sweden. Some interesting fact: The guitar that James is using here has an emotional attachment to him. The wooden material is actually from the garage they used to play in when they were young and getting the band started. And the pictures beneath the strings shows them together, but then the loss of their bass player Cliff Burton (rest in peace). Thus ending with the heavenly gate at the end.
When they performed in Ireland back in, I think 2004, the end of the concert was rained on and there was lightning in the background ( the Dublin mountains were behind the stage about 10 miles back and the lightning was over there) epic
I've seen them 4 times in Ireland and they attacked it every single time 🤟
I seen them in slane Castle 2019 best night of my life
I was at this concert. Honestly one of the best days of my life, the rain added to the fun🤘🏻
You know you are a legend when the crowd is singing the riff...
The guitar that James is using is a very special guitar. The wood on the body is from the wood that was in the garage of the house they stayed in when they made their first two albums. I've always wondered what happened to it after being in that downpour.
I'm new to your channel and you guys are awesome. Subscribed already. I was at that gig. Manchester is a rainy city but that was way more intense. For me it made the whole experience even better. Amazing gig
I was at this gig in Manchester and it was an awesome gig.
Same here bro I was in the stands so didn’t get wet lol
F.Y.I James's guitar is actually named Carl, named after Carlton St. which was where the band had their first "hq" which was a friend's parents run down garage. The wood on the body of Carl is actually wood from the exterior of that garage.
React to:Metallica the day that never comes live nimes 2009
I was there at this concert guys. Poured down with rain after a few songs into the set! Truly magical and they still played tight and professional. It was Etihad stadium so its usually used for football. Great reaction as always
I was there unreal and it was a warm day with the rain too... Amazing😎😍
That’s why they are the best band ever !!!!!
Travis, Suzy, John, I was there at the concert singing at the top of my voice, soaking wet from the downpour and swinging my t shirt above my head, it’s certainly in my memory book!!! Love your music too, keep it going!!!!
Still my favorite Metallica album ever! Got so so lucky to see them live in 1984 while touring this album. They opened for Ozzy and I will never ever forget it!
Lars needs to play in the rain forever. The legend absolutely killed it
The end credit music was from their latest studio album. The song is called Atlas Rise
You don't come to Manchester and expect it not to rain. This was the last concert I was at pre lockdown... Good memories
Just Love watching you guys so damn awesome and enjoyable, brings a smile to my face. Peace and Love be Safe.
If James Hetfield officiated in Kermit and Miss Piggy's wedding... would that make him a Pastor of Muppets?
....... yes.
Boooooooo.....take my like and get out
@@davidward2651 😂 Borderline 'Dad Joke' perhaps? Bahahahahahah 😂
i was there..flew in from Iceland the same day..next day flew to Copenhagen to go on the Copenhell festival...a whole week of metal..i miss "normal" life
I was there, and when you've lived in Manchester for so long you just know when it's gonna raid. A few songs earlier I was like awww shit it's gonna rain. It certainly did
James got blown up by the pyro once during Fade. It was almost the end of Metallica. That same night axle being axle decided he didn’t want to play and save the night. Which cause the riot in Canada.
My partner was lucky enough to work security for this show and he said this was hands down the best experience ever
I was at this gig. I can confirm, that is real rain. Real, UK rain....
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been too and I’ve seen Metallica a lot there not like they used too be but they still kick ass
Great job with your reaction to Master of Puppets from Metallica and yes that was real pouring rain here in Manchester England that night.
Great reaction as usual.. what about the Seattle 89 version of this song ? You won't regret it believe me
Living in Manchester I can confirm that is real, it rains so much it feels like. I assume that was at the etihad stadium?
Awesome reaction. Been fan since 84 saw them 36x HERE till the end. Be safe and Healthy everyone
you guys shoulda did this song from seattle '89, back in their prime they couldn't be beat
I love watching both of you!😊😊
Same year in Berlin, they were playing in have rain too, unfortunately Kirks guitar failed right when he should play Master of Puppets solo.
I was there, seen them 9 times, but this was a whole different level
React Metallica hardwired oficial video
Travis is wearing a THONG! A mere noodle for his kit & caboodle!
I say, no pants. Might include a thong. Good catch mate.
James guitar Carl is too valuable and sentimental for him, no way he gets rid of it. Probably put it in some rice and called it at that
I'm from Manchester and it is called The Rainy City for a reason. Awesome performance and the Manchester crowds are always awesome. Also that's just a light shower to the locals.. haha. Great reaction.. :)
In a poll they did, this song came out on top as the favorite.
I was there too. What a great night!
Have seen them a dozen times, first show was 1989, 18.50 a ticket, seen them play in the rain twice, lightning actually split over the stage behind them during ride the lightning at Allentown fairgrounds! Friends & I still talk about it 30yrs later🤘 ~ guitar Jaymz is playing is called Carl, it's made from the wood from the garage they first started playing in as Metallica
Yeah whiteley1989 I was there too, was an awesome gig, especially loved the pyro and imagery on one. And yes TheWolfHunterz it was real rain, and not a single fuck was given
You should react to some of their songs that they do with the symphony
Check out a live show moscow 91 ..they rocked in front of 1.6 mil.. People.. Historical and largest crowd ever !!!!
Most radical rock band in history...never saw that clip before....people must have been flabergasted !!!
The greatest song ever written about the struggles of drug addiction
The Metal Gods can control the weather 🤘
I've been waiting for this one ever since the extensive sweating conversation in one of your other Metallica reactions lol.
The rain is as real as rain gets in Manchester. Believe me I ',ve been to sports events and it rains harder in Manchester than pretty much anywhere in the UK
I’ve got this mental image now of a gigantic plastic box with a full set of drums, complete w/drummer. Someone points one finger at the drummer to start playing and hollers to the fireman at the fireplug and yells, “Ok! Let ‘er rip!”
...and they did it again in Munich recently!
You want to see a big Metallica crowd, react to any of their videos of their Moscow concert 1991. 1 million+ people.
that wasnt just metallica though
This is my home city as quoted by my late father “it’s always pissing down here”.
Liliac is coming out with a cover of this song !
Don't think any of these chuckleheads! Even understood what this song is even about!!
True, ignorant annoying kids
Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' Selected for Preservation by U.S. Library of Congress. Metallica's iconic Master of Puppets album has been selected for induction into the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.Mar 23, 2016
I was there and trust me it was pissing it down 🌧️🌧️
Poppa Het and his Cyborg right arm.
Bet yall didn't even notice 'PIKACHUUUU!!!!'.
Greatest heavy metal song and album. Battery and Welcome Home (Sanitarium) are a must.
It was proper rain 🌧 that night in Manchester the whole show is now on RUclips
I can understand your(The lady) pain at 15:30 😂😂 even everyone loves to headbang to that part but they paused it😂😂. I also felt that pain 😂😂😂
You absolutely have to watch their Moscow concert! Record holding attendance!
It always rains in Manchester I live here 🤘 nothing stops Metallica
I was there it was real rain 😀absolutely got drenched then had to walk to the hotel in it but it all was worth it.great reaction 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
More live Metallica, please....🔥🔥🤘🔥🤘🤘🤘🔥......a stellar masterclass performance in heavy rain by the best band ever ......GOATS...LEGENDS....by the way; a "meagre " 75,000 fans attended that concert
Just started watching you guys! Are you guys from Cleveland? I was born and raised there, now I live in Youngstown
I once saw a drummer (Martin Chambers of The Pretenders) playing on a kit where one or more of his toms had a water line hooked up to it filling the surface up to the rim. I think it was at Live Aid. I didn't see the rain in this video at first and thought Lars had the same kind of kit here...
The Wolf HunterZ "How do they prepare for something like this"
Answer "They have been to the uk before" :)
Apparently it does rain here from time to time.
Wet Kirk is adorable. That didn’t sound right but you know what I mean 😂
I was there, it was my first Metallica show, it was beautiful
hey what's up RUclips family you are the best one ever
and I got a replies for you SRV hideaway lyrics please please RIP
Thanks!
Thank you!!
It was raining I was there awesome show
My First Metallica Concert was with 12
James guitar is made from wood from old garage they played in
i was there it was amazing !
This song is their most performed song in their extensive catalogue. The album of the same name is one of about 600 or so albums preserved at the Library of Congress as being culturally significant. They are have always been a band that sounds better live. I've been lucky enough to have been to two concerts and both were so amazing. Great reaction
I was there - one of the top 3 shows of my life !
I was there, it was my first ever concert, I was 14 or 15 and Metallica is the family favourite band so seeing them live was brilliant. I was born just after the St Anger album in 2004 so my dad used to play all the older albums such as Master of Puppets and Injustice for All etc. Seeing Metallica live was always on my bucket list and I'm glad I managed to complete it whilst still being young and seeing them whilst their still going strong.
i was there and it was awesome and it poured down
At end of video you mentioned you would love to hear Metallica in front of a bigger audience. Listen to them perform " Enter Sandman" Live in Moscow 1991. there was 1.6 million people there.
Saw them live in July 5th 2015 in Orlando Florida for my first time loved them then was suppose to see them last year at welcome to Rockville at Daytona international speedway but Covid came along and canceled the festival and I was definitely disappointed especially knowing they were going to be playing two different nights
Play a show where it rains, lol, love you all
