Viewers who are asking them to interview in Telugu.. inka odhileyandi bro. They have tried for a couple of interviews and they couldn't do it. Some of us start thinking in English because of a lot of exposure to english literature and movies. So adhi natural ga ochestadi when we are trying to express something. You can't keep blaming them for the same because they have always said this is a place where they want to feel comfortable. So chill, nachakapothe lite teeskondi.. choodakandi but leave them alone.
Agreed! We should appreciate that the majority of their conversations are based off films. Knowing the fact that English is REQUIRED to reach a larger audience. Let the free flowing conversations hail. I say this being a hardcore TELUGU fan, but this is not the space to insist on telugu speaking…
Sangeetha Devi is so cute. Donno if it's diction, if it's her laugh, if it's her body language, if it's her gracious age, but she is damn so cute man❤.

Lovely watching Sangeetha Devi talking, so wise and yet so peaceful. The bit about P.C Sreeram where he says that's the only way i can cope with it, touching...
Hi team, Santosh's tentative opening of the interview is one of the best things in Permit Room. Please don't listen to anything contrary. The laidback nature and occasional clumsiness of the hosts all adds to the charm and genuineness of the interview. Please don't try to cut that back. Love Hriday's humor. His plumber joke in Dr.JP interview was the best. You are doing a great job. Keep it up and going. No need to be apologetic. All the best, guys.
We should appreciate that the majority of their conversations are based off films. Knowing the fact that English is REQUIRED to reach a larger audience. Let the free flowing conversations hail. I say this being a hardcore TELUGU fan, but this is not the space to insist on telugu speaking…
First things first, I liked this interaction. It was refreshing to hear your perspectives. I know you guys are pressed for timelines and hence need to watch stuff every Friday and mostly review mediocre stuff. But spend a thought for viewers/readers who genuinely appreciate good cinema and do a few videos with movie recommendations from global cinema, analysis of shots, scenes, writing etc. I remember reading a few reviews of Sangeeta for the last two decades. But I never waited with a bated breath for her reviews. The reason partly is also that *The Hindu* is notorious for its delays and these days most of their articles are behind the paywall. I've discovered RVS recently and he's doing some good work. Remember seeing his face much earlier though. That way, Hriday Ranjan was a more familiar face for me. Hriday, your comedy/sarcasm comes out as crass for me. I think you've got good sensibilities. But please don't try to oversell or overcompensate for traction. But, I'm still a web review reader which helps me at least avoid junk movies. I used to write my own (small) reviews on my FB page which my friends always endorsed. But I stopped it in the last 3-4 yrs. I'm obviously not a pro, but it was more out of a genuine love for cinema. Coming to the criticism about the bunch of you, I don't have a problem that you spoke broken Telugu or that you've stuck mostly to English in the interview. I rather have a problem with the lack of command any of you have over the language on which you are most dependent for your bread. I can't be 100% sure, but it appears that most of you didn't spend your childhood in AP or Telangana which led to you guys not studying Telugu. I doubt if Sangeeta or Hriday can even read Telugu. I'm giving the benefit of doubt to RVS and Santosh. How can you catch the nuances of the dialogue or lyric which are integral to Indian movies!? While movie is primarily a visual medium, dialogue plays a huge role too. If you read this and want to take this as genuine feedback, it'd be nice. Else, I'd never consider your reviews holistic as far as Telugu cinema is concerned.
I'm eagerly waiting for this interview. It means so much to me because, along with you people, I deeply admire Sangeetha Devi garu and Ram Venkat Srikar for their work. This interview offers a glimpse into the life journeys of filim reviewers/critics, and the passion behind their work. It’s touching and funny, giving us a real sense of who they are and how they view their own criticism. Thank you, Hriday and Sai, for making this happen!
I didn't expected that i will enjoy that much...but i was surprised myself, i kind of hooked up to the entire conversation. Felt like i am an official movie buff by seeing people with similar mindset like me.
Nice one. Congratulations to you both for Permit Room success. I bashed your reviews for film companion. You don't have a connect with Telugu Cinema at all. But surprisingly you both are able to engage these long conversations in chill mode. I am watching all at one go . Good going
Not knowing Telugu and reviewing Telugu movies is one of the great setback in Sangeetha Review as she has not lived or spoke Telugu.. thats why her reviews reminds of a guy who lives in Chennai.. and watches Telugu movies
Damn man, sangeetha devi garu your voice(in english) is just soooo addictive. This is what I would dream for a placement interview, if only I could answer like sangeetha garu
Thanks for getting Sangeetha mam! I remember as a kid we used to read The Hindu in school and I used to look out for her article every single time. She is one of my childhood favourites. Though being from Hyderabad, I got to discover more and more about it through her as a kid and my love just grew towards Hyderabad and arts. Sangeetha Devi Dundoo! Man! It brings back so many good memories.
TQ for this podcast, the segments that I liked in this podcast are likable , not likeable section films in which you guys described them in your perspective , Sangeeta ma'am films and she said about her interactions with Tabu & PCsriram sir , influencers/journalists section , Ram especially how he mentioned "his perspective of reviewing films- he mentioned some critic reviewer names " , both of you permit guys. Could you please try to talk in Telugu ? You're way ahead in using English vocabulary(at least choice of words). So that it will reach everyone who loves/watching conversations. Can someone bring the "VEDAM-second half hospital scene" movie , GOT characters in your next conversations. Also "SONGS" that made us fall in love instantly, feel good songs & lyrical writers and complete albums that changed the perspectives of films.
I don't consider his reviews seriously, He's a regular guy living in Texas expecting high from each scene shown , I seriously doubt his knowledge on film crafts, he looks too adolescent in his reviewing style.
Stop trolling & interrupting your guests, just to sound cool or funny. Once may be unintentional, more than once is a choice. You know what some of us (repeatedly) are talking about here & hope you seriously take note of it and make this a better experience for everyone, including the guests & the listeners. You are free to add your opinions, but please be mindful of your tone, timing & the length. The guests you invite are the best part of your show & the biggest reason the show, literally, is running. Don’t let it dilute and consider this as a feedback.
@ all in for conversations with free flow, I even mentioned to share the thoughts but wait for an appropriate time. In order for that to happen, conversations need not be interrupted unnecessarily 🤷🏻♀️.. and definitely there is no need to troll. Not just me, many folks as I can see have the same thoughts specific to this podcast. We all are learning and this is very common learning even in corporate where it’s suggested to listen first & then speak. Most of us are listening to this without the video, making the interruptions more evident & unwanted.
RVS maatalu thappa migathaadi antha skip cheskuntu choosthunna, it's great to watch this way. The Fact that "Neninthe" and "Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju" aren't mentioned in a Telugu Film Critics Podcast made me feel sad. Also only kudos to RVS for conversing in Telugu in a Telugu Film Critics Podcast.
Sensible and Constructive reviewers are necessary but not the ones who just try to cater by only highlighting negative aspects for views or clout. Ram Venkat Srikar is the most sensible critic out there, he understands the nature of the film while most other clowns.
Good conversation . Sangeetha Devi is one of the few film reviewers who does not go overboard. I would like to add , a film critic or audience should see the movie as a whole some experience. One should not dissect it by saying good editing or good cinematography or even good acting . Shekhar Kammula always says if some one mentions good acting or good screenplay then for him he as a Director did not do a good job as ppl are noticing the craft and not experiencing. End of the day it’s a good or bad movie. Again, just a thought from an avid Cinephile like all of you . Keep doing such podcasts . 👍🏻
