He does now...He has Igor Krutoy...we know Igor is not generic. He is one of the greatest composers out there and he loves working with Dimash.

And there is a Korean songwriter Dimash is working with now so he will bring a fresh new perspective.Dimash needs to get away from Chinese influence since he will end up stagnating there and wasting his youth doing some crappy English and Chinese songs produced in China.Altthough I like "Screaming" but not the m/v version but his Concert freestyle versions much better.

В припевах одновременно поют как бы 4 Димаша, каждый свою партию, которые наложены друг на друга. Получается такое волшебное многоголосие. One of the advantages of a studio track.... we can get more than one Dimash 😂 This MV is pretty epic from a historical sense in Dimash's career. His first english pop song that was not a cover. (Idol Hits came later). The MV was released before we had any live performances, so my first thought was that it would be interesting to see how Dimash would perform it live. Definitely not an easy task. He's performed this many times and has gone through many variations. When he first started out, the background vocals (high notes) were piped in while he sang the main vocals at the end. Then he changed it up where the main vocals were piped and the high/whistle notes were live.... since you are going to do a cover, you may want to do a search for other performances and check those out as well. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with. ❤

You should see his next MV he made after this Akkuym - a beautiful Kazakh song with beautiful lyrics - as it already shows the artistic MV style he is going for which resembles more a feature movie than a MV.

Caleb, you, know, a fan from New Zeelnd went to Kazahstan to see Dimash. They didn't know each other personally. But Dimash (who lives with his parents, brother and sister, invited him home to dinner, where they all had a great time. The fan asked permission to post a film (because he filmed a part of the dinner)on his fb page., which he did. This shows another aspect of Dimash, his qualities as a human being.
Would be awesome to see you listen to Akkuym music video version. It's been done a ton of different ways in his concerts, started off as a duet even! But it's a very different approach even from his other music videos and for the first time it's actually a music video audio version that I prefer to the live versions. Also I always felt Screaming was originally written that way (simpler) so that fans could sing along easier.

I have to disagree, I prefer the live versions of Akkuym. His emotional presentation in the live versions, like Moscow and especially Arnau, are out of this world, impossible to watch without tears. Dimash is that rare case where I always enjoy his live performances more than the studio or prerecorded ones.

Agree, i think screaming indeed is the way-to-go kind of song to sing along with fans or public in general. Definitely more simple one than his other songs, it's also his first english song+mv in a very pop style, so definitely a kind of staple song for fan cheering too.

His voice is so grand that the regular pop sounds are easily being overshadowed by it . I feel you can’t fit a voice like this in a specific genre as we have it today. This needs a whole new genre of its own , something new and revolutionary to fit this sublime voice . I love him so much ❤️

I agree with you 100% on Dimash working with the right people to compliment his voice. I find that he works quite well with Igor Krutoy. Igor seems to really understand Dimash and also looks like they get on quite well, which is good when agreeing how the song will be done. All in all great reaction and you give great insight. Also really enjoyed your English translation of SOS. Great going man!

Its an absolute necessity for Dimash to master English(he is getting better)in order for him to become a world star because some fans don't understand that if he sings in broken English he will not be fully accepted on the world market as a serious Artist but just a "foreign" pop star.I hope his team understands this priority...

I love that he can accompany himself, obviously overlay, with his own incredible voice. But you're right, it could be so much more. His newer songs written by Igor (sorry, don't know his last name) are pushing him more.

Screaming - Chinese Audience and for English Audience
Akkyum - Kazakh Audience
Love of Tired Swans/Know - Russian and other former USSR countries
He is pretty much a pop mainstream artist in China. In Kazakhstan he is seen as a Pop-Neoclassical-Folk crossover artist. In Russia, he is packaged more as a classical balladeer. It's like having 3 artist personas.

Dear Caleb, as you saw in the tribute to MJ Dimash can & does also do the drum part for this. Before I forget again there seems to be a place I think on Instagram where people can post singing any of his songs & they will be watched & recognized if you are interested. I guess you could already send in your cover of SOS & this when you are finished with it. PLEASE react to Dimash & Victor Ma Earth Song which as I am sure you know is one of MJ's songs. First great pop musical video right after The Singer. Dimash did his own piano play, drums and own background song. Caleb, you need to realize that this was the first English pop version in 2017: and his English enunciation was still fresh and new to him especially with the beat and rythmn. But I would love to hear your version of Dimash song. Thank you.

Hi, Caleb! This is the first ever MV of Dimash made last year in China before he started to work with Igor Krutoy. The main critique for this MV was that the arrangement was too generic. But Dimash’s singing was super as usual. His next step was the new arrangement you’d already reacted- the Idol Hit performance with rock elements and new runs and rap. He keeps developing it introducing something new at every concert.

His understanding and execution of Pop music has improved. Getting better at his grasp of English also helps. As I was typing this it just struck me that it is his vocals in the background. The layering is very compelling. There is a lot going on here. it is definitely a song that needs several times listening to understand all that is going on. I wonder if that is a double doing the underwater scene? I wonder if they used a neutral track so they could focus on the vocals and the visuals. He is really expanding his reach. It will be fun to see how far his imagination will take him. He seems to want to follow Michael Jackson maybe. I'm just speculating. Thanks for the reaction. You see and hear things I would have missed and not been able to enjoy if you weren't doing this.

As others commented below, I feel like Igor Krutoy writing/composing songs for him that are a lot less generic-pop, both in terms of instruments/melody/lyrics. I'm sure you will see some of them soon in later videos. They are a good combination.

Hi Caleb! Thanks for the reaction, I always enjoy hearing your thoughts after the video. I agree that the song aside from Dimash was pretty generic, and I guess that's why I didn't really care for it too much initially... it grew on me though. I also agree with what you said about him needing to find the right people to work with, and I think he's getting there, his collaborations with Igor Krutoy have really showcased what he can do. Hoping for an album with Igor Krutoy haha.
Personally I think his first album (it's been on international platforms since August, initial release in June was Chinese platforms only) was kind of like this song. He does try some new styles in the album, but *overall* it was perhaps less impressive than other songs we've heard from him. I still enjoyed it overall though, and I've realized that I really do like his Chinese songs that are more generic and mainstream lol (mainstream in Chinese music at least) like Only You (ruclips.net/video/51QmRTv2fYg/видео.html). Idk if this has much reaction value, but I think it's a nice song and you might enjoy it in your own free time :D
